    As a patriotic Nigerian, I am extremely proud of Aliko Dangote and the entire Dangote Group, particularly the Dangote Refinery, for their remarkable achievements. It's a testament to the impact one individual can have on a country's economic development. I wish our corrupt leaders would take a page from Aliko Dangote's book and invest in Nigeria, rather than stashing their ill-gotten gains in foreign countries.
    I once again commend the Dangote Refinery for its groundbreaking achievement and hope it paves the way for a stable and sustainable petroleum supply chain in Nigeria. This would bring immense relief to the masses, who have long suffered from price volatility and scarcity. May this milestone mark the beginning of a new era in Nigeria's energy sector.
    If you agree, please join me in thanking Aliko Dangote by typing 'Thank you, Aliko Dangote'.

    If all the Nigerians building edifices in Dubai and stashing billions in Switzerland and other foreign countries, put their resources in Nigeria, there’d be no single trace of poverty in the country. As matter of fact, only 7 Nigerians can end poverty and shortages of basic commodities in the entire country from coast to coast. But alas, it’s a nation where people expect the government to do everything, and the government is saturated with corrupt elements who hardly care for the future of the country. You can’t even have stable supply of electricity after all these decades (my entire lifetime). I’ve been away for many years, and people still shout “up NEPA” when the lights finally turn on. People stream on social media with their flashlights, and mosquitoes still have their daily nutrition off of a malnourished populace. When will it all change?

    • @elliotono2341
      @elliotono2341 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @rotimikayode1072 The everything in Nigeria is set up for corruption. In Saudi Arabia, they have a gas company that's totally responsible outside of the government responsible for all fuel sales, the same in the U.S. It's only in a country like Nigeria where you have a government totally involved in the refinery. Who truly regulates the NNPC? Back in the 70s, my brother in law, was recruited from NYC by the NNPC. His worst mistake was accepting the offer. He was stationed in Warri. Because of his refusal to part in the corruption. All his colleagues were cooking the books. He became a target, especially coming from the U.S. He was recommended to the military to be retired at age 40. He's been back in the U.S. since the 80s and now an American citizen. The NNPC is amongst the most currupt entities in Nigeria. A childhood friend of mine was given about a million dollars worth of crude oil to sell in the black market in 2011. He shared this information with me on her visit to the U.S. He laughed at me when l criticized her. She told me that l was speaking grammar that's meaningless in Nigeria. And l am better off just staying in the U.S.

      @@Freedom-l1g . I love your plea to Dangote, however, this will be dependent on complex factors including that of NNPC.
      The true remains, even if he would have sold more cheaply, NNPC and other marketers will not allow that, and if it would be way higher, it would probably be higher than what we currently have since govt have come out to say Petrol is still being subsidized.
      It's either that of Dangote is also subsidized or we pay higher, but steady supply will be guaranteed, hopefully an end of fuel queue era

      Dangote doesn't control the fuel price. Tinubu (petroleum minister) and the NPCL determine the price. If NNPCL supply crude at cheaper rate, then Dangote will sell back to NNPCL at cheaper rate.

    Rufai you sometimes don't see anything good in what Nigeria is doing that is not the best way to project the country to the world. Most countries of the world showcase the best things happening not the worst . The media has a lot of impact in the development of a nation Dangote's refinery is a positive image for Nigeria which will end petrol scarcity and should be applauded.

    I appreciate his tenacity, doggedness and business vision in spite of all the deliberate obstacles he faced was able to bring his dream to fruition.
    Undoubtedly, this announcement will help to reduce the cost of petroleum products in the country. Especially, reduces the incessant queuing in the filling stations and possibly eliminate the scarcity of fuel in the country.
    In addition, it will reduce foreign currency flight from the country, which is causing unnecessary stress on the economy. And if properly managed could help boost the country foreign exchange reserves through exports of the petroleum finished products. Bravo.

    Assuming NNPC can provide enough crude to Dangote Refinery, and even if its sold to Dangote in Naira, the price will be the international oil price and just because its denominated in Naira does not mean it will be cheap. The days of cheap oil is over, Nigerians should be ready to pay. 1000 Naira a litre due to the Tinubu devaluation of the currency. So unless the Naira can increase to where it was a year ago or even 10 years ago oil will not be cheap in Nigeria. In the long term Nigeria will also have to move to alternative energy sources.
