I bought this 2 years ago for my series S. Started off slow because handling is a struggle but eventually after a few drives, you’ll get the hang of it. I was able to complete most of championship, events and most of career. Decent game to be honest, vast collection of rally cars available at the time. The tracks are amazing too especially the france areas! Really love the damage in this game, epic stuff
This looks amazing, but trying it on PS5, there is a graphics and performance limiter. The game plays at a maximum of 30 FPS, and I remember trying the Lg29 and there being lateness to my inputs, redownloading and hoping for better with the Thrustmaster T248.
Honestly, between *richard burns, dirt 2, beam, legends, and now EA WRC, I don't really see where this game fits in the market unless it's deeply discounted
I suppose it's the same as EA WRC will render Dirt Rally pointless. If you're a Loeb fan, want some nostalgia at a very cheap price or just have an older machine, then it's a good buy imo.
Honestly I doubt EA WRC will render Dirt Rally pointless. DR1 is still superior in a few ways to DR2, and vice versa. EA WRC will come with a level of EA bloating. Probably macrotransactions and a battlepass of some kind pushed down our throats. I think EA WRC will be good... but by no means the immediate king. Time will tell. My pessimism comes from previous titles quality which have had "EA" and "WRC" in the name. In my eyes, DR1 and DR2 are separate titles. DR1 you feel the gravel, DR2 is just driving on an ice-ring. Less detailed FFB, worse dirt handling, but more content to use. Not improving on the OG, rather a completely different experience altogether. Similar to EA's Battlefront 1 and 2, actually. No matter what though, everything is better than this game - in terms of value for money haha
It is. And at this point it's already abandonware so it doesn't really matter. But to be honest, this one is right up there with RBR and DR. It has some serious issues, because.....Milestone. But the physics are solid.If Milestone had payed more attention to detail and quality control, this game would have been one of the best rally simulators.

well, the space just opened up for a dirt rally 3/ richard burns rally for 2024 era. since codemasters changed dirt rally 3 for a more arcade style to satisfy the masses for the wrc license and now kyloton are no longer making rally games. ea has the monopoly since its now the only one making rally games, we desperately need someone else to step into the ring. it is a perfect time for a sequel to sebastian loeb rally.
I'm so disappointed with this game : it looks really good in terms of physics of the cars, but the game doesn't recognize my Logitech G29... I found some tips to make it work, but it doesn't...
@theunconventionalline it has...my fanatec worked fine. Even FF isn't that bad, keeping in mind that this originally was more oriented towards console players (gamepad). 😊
So much wasted potential for a game with tons of great content (good stage design too). Wheel support is very bad (single USB device only, no separate pedals/etc), no field of view (or seat/camera) adjustment, hard framerate cap, and few other little things had me refund this very quickly (thank you steam refunds). It was a big improvement from WRC 4 (Milestone's rally game prior to this), but it still had too many shortcomings for me.

Underrated game. Sounds could be better but the physics and handling were a challenge. Loved the story mode too.

This game is far better than any wrc, dirt, only it had a chance to be promoted...
For the price, I thought it was great. I think PC is the only format to get this on though with the FPS cap

The engine audio is astonishingly bad.

I have heard about issues with wheels but I don't have one. I've found the game good with a controller though!

That was silly. Reviewing a racing game with the assists on? Really? This game has really good physics and the assists completely ruin it.
I just play at my skill level and what feels best for how I drive. Feels good enough to me though!
