I loved your reaction. Can I request, a song I've never seen anyone react to? Its called Haunted, the artist is POE. She is way too underrated. Anything from that album same title would be awesome. BTW your tears brought back mine.. 😢 never apologize for being you
Exactly! You get it! The only thing I could do to even get close to that feeling again was to purchase the Endless River CD when it came out and not open it. I waited two years. And then finally broke the seal. The reason being was because with the passing of Richard Wright this was it. Once I listen to this album, it's all over . No more. Hope you enjoyed the ride. So I had two years of anticipation when I finally got to listen to that CD. It was worth it
I was around 20 when I first heard this song. That was....67-20= 47 years ago. Had to buy a second record since we wore the first one out. We used to blast this album!!!
No matter what anyone says or replies, your emotion to music is your emotion. Its real. dont let anyone ever let you feel like you have to excuse it. I love your reactions, it reminds me of reactions I have to certain songs, or movies. Keep on keeping on!!
You NEED to hear the entire album in one sitting... Dark side of the Moon will completely change you life, and it’s not a joke. By the time you listen to this...you will be so completely moved. The album starts with a heartbeat, which symbolizes your birth, and ends with a heartbeat...which is your death. The music in between moves you through all the events in ones life : loss, the passage of time , money, madness, war, death. It is by far the most PERFECT album ever made. For an album that is almost 50 years old, the production was very ahead of its time. The reaction was great, I enjoyed it. 😀
And people insist that Comfortably Numb’s solo is the best Guilmour. The solo from Time expresses exctly the spirit of the song. He makes the guitar sound like a desperate person questioning life. His guitar scream, yells, weeps but is so transcedental at the same time. Comfortably Numb is just Guimour showing off . It’s not bad, but on Time he played with all his heart and soul
“Patiently waiting to hear a voice” Welcome to pink floyd On another note. Its great to see you played the whole song without pausing it. Lotta cats pause the song and talk. You cant get an experience of a song for the first time pausing it every 30seconds. Good job mamita.

One of the most important? How about THE most important. We are all just here for a short moment in the grand scheme of things. The odds against you as an individual existing here right now at this moment in time are astronomical. Looking at just one generation, imagine the odds that one particular sperm cell out of hundreds of thousands/millions fusing with one of thousands of your mother's ova. That represents you the individual. Now extrapolate that process back to the next generation and the odds against your mother and father being in existence at the times they were, then the next generation, then the next and so on and so forth for thousands of generations. Its almost an impossibility that you would be sitting where you are right now. Sorry to wax philosophical.....Pink Floyd tends to do that to me.
This is the first album I ever purchased at 10 years old. It is by far my all-time favorite album of any band. It is a complete masterpiece from start to finish.
Don't be afraid of tears!! Many people have reacted the same. "And then one day you find, ten years have got behind you". That gets everyone!! Even me every time!!
...and right before David's solo, the round up of that verse..."no one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun"...that's when it hits you in the gut...
One of my all time favourite songs of all time. The older you get the more it means to you. Used to listen to this all the time when it came out. Great album. If you listen to Pink Floyd enough you get to know they like their long intros. The Dark Side Of The Moon was a concept album meaning all the tracks are linked together in some way. Each track flows to the next one. Try The Great Gig In The Sky from the same album. Very emotional song
The song that everyone has a love/hate relationship with. It's literally an alarm-clock... The whole structure of the song is simply genius. That overly long intro, to make you either get impatient because it feels to long or float away and forget about time... That perfect guitar solo after "You missed the starting gun..." is just so painful and powerful. It's there to make the listener make a very personal reflection of how he/she is waisting his/her life. The lyrics are such a spot on feeling that everyone will have at some point of their life... I have cried to this song. I have used it at inspiration to get my life back on track. I have hated it. I have loved it. And the feelings are always a direct reflection of were I'm at that point in my life. A true masterpiece.
It hits like a wrecking ball every time. I hate and love it as well. Makes me cry like a baby each time. Time is just such a monstrous nemesis for me, the way it just slips through our fingers way too often. The ten years from when I was 20 to 30 was more or less lost and it still haunts me these days, trying to get everything back on track at near 35, I sometimes wish myself back to the school days where 2 minutes felt like 3 hours while waiting for the day to be over. Alarm-clock for sure, painful and powerful, as you said. Time for me to get back to working on music.
Jeff Stumpf - when i was young I just thought this was a great rock song from one of my favourite bands. Now I'm in my 60's it means missed opportunities and unfullfilled dreams, yes its sad to me but beautiful at the same time.
The older I get the harder these lyrics hit. "And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking, Chasing around to come up behind you again". Been there, done that.
"Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time. Plans that either come to nought, or half a page of scribbled lines" is particularly relatable
My first Pink Floyd album, ALBUM as in lp33, was Pink Floyd-Animals in high school. Favorite song from this four song album? Dogs-Three Different Ones. Fantastic song!
@@mrsandman914 i seen animals tour in world series of rock in Cleveland. In 77 my friends gave me the ticket before i went into the army. It cost 15 bucks back then
You may call it "depressing", but you got the message, on point. Your last 2 minutes of talking, summed it up wonderfully. I highly recommend the whole album. Yes, you'll have to do it in parts for TH-cam, but... in your private time listen to the whole thing, front to back, as it was made to be listened to. Thank you for the excellent reaction.
@SaltyDad Ironic. The most pathetic people are those who are rude and demeaning without any cause at all. Shows an inner emptiness and lack of meaning is being projected out on others because you don't know how to cope with it yourself. Even more true for "trolls."
@thewheel73 you are right, your thoughts are exactly what I though on watching this reaction video. @Empress Joy-Jean you caught the meaning and understood it on your first listen, congratulations. A lot of my acquaintances still don't understand the meaning after years of hearing the song - I guess they don't listen like you do.
A beautiful masterpiece yes....it is certainly not a simple pop song for fun. It really makes us think and feel. Joy Jean, thank you....you are honest and real.
This type of rock music is a different type of music than what you've reacted to so far. The instruments are every bit as important as the vocals, or even moreso. This is where the guitar solo rules. Fans love how songs build up and evolve and change from their start to their finish. It isn't dance music, it isn't pop music, and if you listen to it that way, you won't be able to really appreciate it. It's about sitting back and riding along on the wave of the music. Fans will often say the best way to listen to it is with headphones in the dark, so you can focus all your attention on the music. Lyrics tend to be deeper, often about social or philosophical issues, with fewer love songs. It's also true that the lyrics are almost always bleaker than in pop and dance music. There is also harder, more energetic rock music, but the focus on the instruments is always there. Hopefully you can come to appreciate it!
I'm so Grateful and elated to see younger people experiencing Pink Floyd. I am fortunate, being 61 I have seen them several times, first time in 1975 at the Capital Center (outside DC) for the Wish You Were Here Tour, then on May 7th, 1977 in LA at the Anaheim Stadium for the Animals Tour. I also saw them for the Wall Tour in 1981 at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Again in 87 (Cap Center, Md.). Pink Floyd is a Journey, their songs blend to life experiences, and they loved using Audio Hallucinations in their sound. The visuals they produced live with light shows and props were lets say "Mind Expanding"! Thank You for a very honest reaction, and your opinion of this song, "Time", is spot on!!!! Its a journey told of life, starting at Birth (you said "Heart Beat) and ending with the end of life..... Be Well and Stay Healthy and Positive!!!! ~ And I'll be right here, "Warming my bones beside the fire!" PEACE!
There are so many masterpieces to choose from when it comes to Pink Floyd. David Gilmour has a way of making you feel so many emotions just by playing his guitar. The more songs you hear of theirs, the more you will become a Pink Floyd fan. You will find that the more you listen to them, the harder it gets to pick a favorite song of theirs ( they have countless masterpieces to choose from ).Enjoy the Pink Floyd rabbit hole.
You grabbed the meaning of the song perfectly. That’s why it hits you so strong. I grew up on Pink Floyd and the absolute musical poetry will never be matched if music in general stays on its fervently commercial path. David Gilmore was an absolute master at creating the guitar sounds that would actually speak the path between lyrics and if you get the chance to escape the pure brilliance of his guitar mastery, the sounds he is pushing toward you absolutely resonates the emotional power of the lyrics and forces you to reflect on what message you just heard. They were completely amazing at this feat in all of their songs. Epic guitar solos. “Comfortably Numb” has one of the most iconic guitar solos of all time. Great reaction.
My Goddess I’m almost 60, and I have never had the experience I had with you. Your true love and emotional reaction is amazing . Much love and respect to you my dear.😘
This is not the the wrong video. Believe me. This is how the song should sound. I'm glad you got emotional about it. I am a 57 year old man and it brings tears to my eyes every time I listen to it.
So, down the Pink Floyd rabbit hole you go. Pink Floyd is one of a handful of bands that revolutionized and influenced the bands and music that followed them. They are still a driving force for music. Those listening to their music for the first time discover their music is as important as the lyrics. I do hope you continue to explore their extensive library. They are my favorite band, which makes it hard to suggest any single song, rather I suggest listening to whole albums so you get the story they are telling. Enjoy the ride, and hold on ✌️😎
I remember hearing this album for the first time at someone’s house in the 70’s as a young, young teen. I was blown away. This was before I started smoking pot. I smoked many joints with many friends listening to this album, thereafter.
patience.... :) Pink Floyd is always an experience, not just a nice 3 minute song. they are amazing. great reaction, you spoke perfectly about life at the end :)
I can honestly say that the last 20 years felt like 5 years in my 20’s. So much happens from childhood, to building a career, to maybe getting married to kids and then boom. 20 years goes by and not as much changes and the years slip through your fingers. I look at my Dad who just turned 89 so the lesson for me is to seize each moment in time you have, let go of anxiety and bitterness and focus on more love and less of all the other things that rob our joy for life.
Pink Floyd is about the feel of the whole song. Each intro sets the tone and the beat. A lot of Dark side is done by the beat of the hart. In the case of time it is played i to the beat of a ticking clock. Money is the best of the coun and register sound. And it is played in 7/4 time.
Alot of people (especially younger than me😂) seem to focus on "when the singing starts", Floyd ofter have extended instrumentals, and I know modern stuff is 2 to 3 minutes, but this is a chance to stop, sit back, and listen to the sheer craftsmanship of playing real instruments, and just soak it in😉 Lyrics tends to be short but deep meaning behind the poetry.
I feel you on this one. I've been listening to this song my whole life. I knew some of the words but this was the first time I really seen, and felt the lyrics. I cried a bit. Good job.
Don't be ashamed of your tears. This is the best, most honest and truest text I have ever heard! I know this song for over 40 years but understand it today first (because of REAL listening to) - and I'm 62 now... YOU have all the time from now on... I by myself wasted a lot of...
I knew you would get the meaning of this song in exactly the way I did and your reaction is the same too. You are the best and truly magnificent Joy Jean. Absolutely love to watch the emotions in your eyes and body language. Warmest Regards. Mike from the land down under. ❤
Absolutely great and honest reaction ! It's a song everyone needs to listen to, early in life, as a wake up if needed. Thank you for reacting to this. By the way the ending verses of Time flow into (in more ways than one) the next song "The Great Gig in the Sky".
I watch this video at least once a week, when he says ten years have got behind you, your facial expression is priceless and perfect, you are absolutely beautiful and in this video your make-up and everything is just perfect
listened to Floyd at 13 it meant so much never thought Id be listening at 61 let alone it would mean even more.............thats the genius of Floyd.........truly timeless........like Bach or vivaldi timeless.
Time, Money, Great gig in the sky, Us and them some of the most spiritual/philosophical music on the planet. They mean so many things overlapping. Pink Floyd is amazing. If the whole planet could smoke a joint and listen to these songs we'd all be laughing and hugging instead of killing each other. Pink Floyd= God's love and human kindness and wisdom.
@@lawrencesilver4661 When you're young, the song is a reminder to go out and live. When you get older, it mocks you for all the things you haven't done.
A lot of great songs are depressing.... and beautiful. You took a needed risk on this one, Empress. Your channel will never be the same. EnJoy the ride, sweetheart!...
Pink Floyd is my favorite band. I've seen a few TH-cam people watching Floyd for the first time, & I love to see the reactions. So this vid popped up... I see Time Reaction, I love the song, and hey, this lady is beautiful! Then I hear the accent... 💕💖
This is one of my favorite songs from the dark side of the moon album. It's very poignant. People who do not understand this song do not value or are unaware of the time they have, those that do feel for this song have in someway missed out on something or regret that they missed an opportunity, or empathize with those that have lost that opportunity. A with that said, I have to say you have a caring ❤️, and are a beautiful person.
The trouble with this song, is that it builds lyrically to that point ‘you missed the starting gun’ where you’re already a bit introspective and emotional and then theres that solo! You could probably manage to get through each one in isolation but when they’re put together like that its just devastating. Its never failed to get a reaction from me, even after all these years and when I know what’s coming!
Imagine being lucky enough to hear this for the 1st time again..I was 12 years old when I 1st started paying attention to Pink Floyd. Now fast forward the years, I am 52 and the words still radiate in me. Thank you for this video reaction..
Love your reaction. It's really nice to see that you get it. This album is one of the top three albums ever recorded, IMO. Their follow up, "Wish You Were Here" wasn't half bad either.
Watching you being visibly moved by this masterpiece, as you correctly called it, was wonderful. Being able to read the lyrics maybe helped you to get the full message first time. And thank you for not stopping and starting it to comment; like the whole album, this should not be interrupted. Try Dream Brother by Jeff Buckley next.
The song actually says ... just live it ... no sport shoes plugs here ... Anyway, I fist heard this when I was 14, now I'm 60 ... love this song because it's so true but it doesn't prevent me from going on :-) It just states the obvious. Have a long life!!!
Great reaction- I’ve seen many of grown men tear up to this song- including myself- please try Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd or Mother by Pink Floyd
I really don't think that the song is depressing...it's just Pink Floyd's unique way of touching your soul. All their music does just that. That's why people say that you don't listen to Pink Floyd...you EXPERIENCE them, exactly the way you just did.
Saw them in San Francisco on their Dark Side Of The Moon tour Sept. 23, 1972. My friends and I had heard them on the radio playing those songs before they released the album in March 1973. They played at Winterland and we went. It was awesome to say the least. Rock on Empress Joy!
It should bring tears to your eyes muh lady. It's all about our short time on this planet. And enjoy it too the best you/we can. Such a beautiful and sad song all at once. Love your life and have no regrets!!

Amen...
Well said
Absolutely.
Thank you .
This is one of Floyd's most funky tracks, I can definitely dance to this no problem.
This song is about the reality of the human condition. Most of the time no one tells you to get a move on, no one. You only realize it too late.
This woman is intelligent and insightful, great subtle yet genuine reaction. Plus, she's SO gorgeous. The eyes and that perfect skin. Mesmerizing...
My Goddess
I’m almost 60, and I have never had the experience I had with you. Your true love and emotional reaction is amazing . Much love and respect to you my dear.😘
Thank you 💕
This is not the the wrong video.
Nothing touches your soul like a pink floyd track ,they always seem to rip your heart out and make you think about your life x
So right
Everyone is tough and got it together until"TIME" becomes relatable.
It's a recognition of how we mortal beings live our lives. I find it comforting.
I have spoken to you before.
I am a 53 year old lead guitarist in a rock band. I have listened to Pink Floyd all my life. It still makes me cry.
patience.... :) Pink Floyd is always an experience, not just a nice 3 minute song. they are amazing. great reaction, you spoke perfectly about life at the end :)
this song is not depressing, it should be a wake up call to start living, it is inspirational.
I've always viewed it as a kind of warning as well.
The older I get the more the song takes on a different meaning. Brilliant song writing.
I have never found the lyrics depressing but rather melancholy. As I get older they mean more and more to me.
Only one word for this in my book SH.. E
Great point! I agree! Melancholy, not depressing!!

Esa mujer es hermosa 😍
comfortably numb is reallly good
Pink Floyd is about the feel of the whole song. Each intro sets the tone and the beat.
A lot of Dark side is done by the beat of the hart.
In the case of time it is played i to the beat of a ticking clock.
Money is the best of the coun and register sound. And it is played in 7/4 time.
Alot of people (especially younger than me😂) seem to focus on "when the singing starts", Floyd ofter have extended instrumentals, and I know modern stuff is 2 to 3 minutes, but this is a chance to stop, sit back, and listen to the sheer craftsmanship of playing real instruments, and just soak it in😉
Lyrics tends to be short but deep meaning behind the poetry.
This was PF going more commercial! There earlier stuff was even more instrumental and experimental
This is so touching to see this beautiful women thinking about her emotions and her life. Such an honest woman.
Could see the song affect you, like it does to us all. Nice genuine reaction, no fake tears, the lyrics are some of the best ever written.
I knew you would get the meaning of this song in exactly the way I did and your reaction is the same too. You are the best and truly magnificent Joy Jean. Absolutely love to watch the emotions in your eyes and body language. Warmest Regards. Mike from the land down under. ❤
at first i thought you didnt like it then you impressed me with your reaction...keep it going sunshine
Thanks Scott 💕
"a beautiful masterpiece" is the right description. Diving into Pink Floyd underscores what is the magic of music.
Absolutely great and honest reaction !
It's a song everyone needs to listen to, early in life, as a wake up if needed.
Thank you for reacting to this.
By the way the ending verses of Time flow into (in more ways than one) the next song
"The Great Gig in the Sky".
That Lead in the middle Speaks so many words, without saying a word. It hits many emotions along the way.
This song is not depressing to me. It was liberating. And that glorious solo....
I wish you a lot more Pink Floyd.
OMG,,,,What a beautiful woman reacting to a beautiful song in such an honest and beautiful way !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My favourite band of all time, you just opened up a massive can of worms, you should react to Comfortably Numb next, as well as the song Mother 👍👍👍🎸
@jon webster Echoes is a masterpiece in itself
Shine on you Crazy Diamond...
Pulse Live just so you also get the visuals not to mention the solo
I watch this video at least once a week, when he says ten years have got behind you, your facial expression is priceless and perfect, you are absolutely beautiful and in this video your make-up and everything is just perfect
That entire album is a masterpiece of sound.
And lyrics
listened to Floyd at 13 it meant so much never thought Id be listening at 61 let alone it would mean even more.............thats the genius of Floyd.........truly timeless........like Bach or vivaldi timeless.
"This song it's depressing" it's one way to realize the truth or a fact that a lot of us deny.
Best lyrics ever written? It's definitely in the running. Song gets harder to listen to every year because it's so damn right.
I'm 60 as I get older this song in more relevant and true.
@@lawrencesilver4661 When you're young, the song is a reminder to go out and live. When you get older, it mocks you for all the things you haven't done.
This is the best and most beautiful guitar solo I´ve ever heard.
Great reaction
Thank you 💕
It's Life my princess.. We love this song, it's a reminder to "do it now".. Beautiful!!
You need to hear the whole album at once
There are 2 works of art here. The beautiful song and your beauty. Loved the heart felt reaction.
It hurts when someone is so hardly waiting for the vocals that the pure magic of the intro gets lost😔
It was my 77th birthday yesterday Joy-Jean. I have heard this a million times.
Still makes me cry
When you listen to this in your youth, the musical bar rises to the right height. Great group. Greetings from Siberia (Russia)
Very good. Live the music. We listened to this 50 years ago and took it to heart. We have been spoiled with this kind of music for a long time.
A lot of great songs are depressing.... and beautiful. You took a needed risk on this one, Empress. Your channel will never be the same. EnJoy the ride, sweetheart!...
Thanks E J 💕
Pink Floyd is my favorite band. I've seen a few TH-cam people watching Floyd for the first time, & I love to see the reactions. So this vid popped up... I see Time Reaction, I love the song, and hey, this lady is beautiful! Then I hear the accent... 💕💖
Well said and true. Life is like a vapour. Your sweet as usual and gorgeous as usual. Stay safe
Keys change, the melody and words do NOT. Such a beautiful reaction. This reaction makes me a subscriber. "One world, one tribe, one love"
4:50 ... that solo is there because its needed there.
People literary need time to consume what they just heard.
It hits hard
The trouble with this song, is that it builds lyrically to that point ‘you missed the starting gun’ where you’re already a bit introspective and emotional and then theres that solo! You could probably manage to get through each one in isolation but when they’re put together like that its just devastating. Its never failed to get a reaction from me, even after all these years and when I know what’s coming!
Fantastic comment, equally fantastic Jason King/Wyngarde profile pic. You summed this up perfectly; Clearly a person of great taste and intelligence
Their follow up, "Wish You Were Here" wasn't half bad either.
i love so much this girl....the voice....the eyes hooo my god...an angel
Watching you being visibly moved by this masterpiece, as you correctly called it, was wonderful. Being able to read the lyrics maybe helped you to get the full message first time. And thank you for not stopping and starting it to comment; like the whole album, this should not be interrupted. Try Dream Brother by Jeff Buckley next.
That guitar, just amazing. Beautiful.
The song actually says ... just live it ... no sport shoes plugs here ... Anyway, I fist heard this when I was 14, now I'm 60 ... love this song because it's so true but it doesn't prevent me from going on :-) It just states the obvious. Have a long life!!!
this song just hits on so many levels..God bless Pink Floyd!
Great reaction- I’ve seen many of grown men tear up to this song- including myself- please try Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd or Mother by Pink Floyd
Well this song is about time, so it will tear up grown men not the boys.
They have listened well, and yes, David Gilmour's guitar speaks to us. This genius makes his guitar talk.
I really don't think that the song is depressing...it's just Pink Floyd's unique way of touching your soul. All their music does just that. That's why people say that you don't listen to Pink Floyd...you EXPERIENCE them, exactly the way you just did.
Gorgeous lady reacting to the best band of all times. Easy selected
Yes! You get it!! The instrumentals and sound effects tell a story on its own...the lyrics simply hit the point.
You seem to have a lot of emotions👍👍 this video makes me sad too🥺🥺🥺 don't cry😊😊
💕💕
Saw them in San Francisco on their Dark Side Of The Moon tour Sept. 23, 1972. My friends and I had heard them on the radio playing those songs before they released the album in March 1973. They played at Winterland and we went. It was awesome to say the least. Rock on Empress Joy!
Ironic she called the song beautiful! She is stunningly beautiful on the outside! thoughtful & beautiful on the inside!
i totally have jungle fever now.
Easter Worshipper Come on.
It should bring tears to your eyes muh lady. It's all about our short time on this planet. And enjoy it too the best you/we can. Such a beautiful and sad song all at once. Love your life and have no regrets!!
