It was with trepidation that I approached this remix due to the long emotional attachment I have had with this song. As a boy, I bought this song shortly after my mother died...music was my only friend through this difficult period. I was convinced that the song was written for me despite never starting school in a "Worn, torn dress"... it didn't matter, I identified with it. A few years ago I had some contact with Pam Sawyer, the primary writer of this song, who graciously praised my "Free Love Child" mashup of the song. I told her of my childhood story and she was moved that she had reached a little boy, through the magic of her lyric, so many years ago.
I ghosted the original parts with new drums, bass, guitar, piano, strings and harp. When it came to Carole Kaye's original, iconic bass line I didn't copy it but played it the way I felt it... I feel it works.

My favourite Supremes track. There's something about it that just pulls at your heart. I was lucky enough to see the Diana Ross & the Supremes reunion concert at Madison Square Garden In New York in 2000. I was transported back to being a child seeing all those songs in black and white on the TV suddenly all in colour and live. Needless to say I needed a tissue or three when they performed this. Your re-Fresh is spot on giving the song more depth without losing any of it's soul. Well done!!

Thanks for that - great job! I never knew Carole Kaye did the bass on this record. Amazing. That live version on Sullivan (girls in pink) is my favorite version, along with the live one on the Farewell album.

Great song and great remix...Love the pictures of Flo..it's too bad Mary and Cindy don't sing on the released recording.
When i would hear this great hit on the radio, I would think, Mary sounds a little bit funny back there,, muffled.. Then when her book came out in the late 1980s, , she admitted that she was not on this song for unscrupulous reasons explained in her great book.. She was offended & hurt.. But thank God she still got royalties from it. And later sued Motown in the middle 1970s for unlawfully recording several songs in the late 1960s without her.. She won her case.. But at least we got to hear her powerful backgrounds live on Live recordings & television.. She would do this song in her concerts in her own unique style & blow the audiences away.. So glad we can see some of her performances on youtube.. Rest In Heaven "Lady SUPREME" Mary Wilson... Motown, RnB, Soul, Rock n' Roll, , Pop Music ROYALTY.. Oh,,, Great job buddy!

I couldn’t even if I wanted to David as modern Mac’s don’t have cd drives and I personally haven’t used one for around 7 years! Find a YT ripper program and do it yourself would be a solution.
I made a cd of all of these Supremes futuro version songs. I did with my android tablet and old cd recorder. Very easy.

I have some instrumentals with a publisher. One in particular I would love remixed with ideas for a lyric so it has a decent chance of getting picked up. The publisher is not motivated - he is also my manager and attorney. Would like to send the .wav file to you and see if it inspires you to remix it, add better beats, etc. I think it has a lot of pop potential, but I composed it. We all think that. LOL Anyway, I think you can listen to something and transform it into what it was meant to be. Your mixes are eclectic. I like THAT. My track is aging in limbo.

you always succeed in cleaning and clearing up the muddied audio of so many Motown songs. its a shame that no one at Motown cares about the products that they continue to release. they still haven't remastered tcb or on broadway and never will. the farewell movie or and actual Motown specials. jean mary and linda did a new York park concert filmed by Motown but never seen by us.
