    How to live righteous.

    Righteousness = divine approval - right standing with God
    Holiness = in like nature with the Lord/set apart
    Q. Are you walking rightly?
    Sin drives a wedge between you & God.
    Romans 6:23 - wages of sin is death
    Hebrews 10:26-29 - sinning deliberately
    1 Corinthians 6:9 - continue in sin will not inherit the kingdom of heaven
    Why you can’t be righteous by works
    Matthew 5:17
    break one law, you’re guilty of all of it.
    Have to exceed the holiness of the Pharisees
    Adultery and murder in the mind
    Romans 7
    Knows what to do, but does what he hates.
    Paul, the one who was made blind on his way to Damascus
    Puts his life on the line for the gospel
    Still had to overcome sin
    Two minds flesh vs Spirit
    Galatians 5:16-26 - WORKS of the flesh & Spirit
    Righteousness by the Spirit
    Romans 7:15-25 - Do what I don’t want to do - flesh identity/nature/mind
    Romans 8:1-14 - a mind that’s unified with the Holy Spirit.
    Ephesians 4:17-24 - don’t walk as gentiles do - darkening their mind
    PUT OFF & PUT ON
    Colossians 3:5 - put to death your earthly nature
    1 John 1:5-7 - if you are in FELLOWSHIP with Him no sin
    1 John 2:10 - no sin in the light.
    Spirit - capital S for Holy Spirit
    Mind governed by Holy Spirit - unity, agreement, under the influence of Holy Spirit.
    Carnal mind - vices, idolatry
    How Jesus resisted sin
    Hebrew 12:1-11 - DISCIPLINE, look at the vision/destiny
    Proverbs 29:18 - no vision no discipline
    James 3:4 - power of the tongue
    Matthew 4:1-11 - Jesus tempted
    How King David resisted sin
    Psalm 119:11 - hid God’s word in his heart
    More on how to resist sin
    James 4:7 - submit to God resist the devil.
    Submit = rank under, obey, agree with
    James 1:2-4 - count trials and tribulations as joy,
    1 Peter 1:3-10
    divine power through knowing Him.
    Practicing these qualities will ensure we never fall.
    There exists a state where you are no longer compelled to sin. No longer struggling against sin
