Being a LONG TIME DMB fan, I think it is absolutely fantastic that these kids and their leadership took the time out to look at an amazing band that isn't or at least wasn't always "mainstream/top 40" material - but still absolutely a Grammy winning band that has spanned almost 25 years with a sound ALL THEIR OWN, loved & loathed by many- but still fantastic music NONE THE LESS. 2016 IS 25 YEARS OF DMB!!!

Awesome job, POA! Probably one of my favorite parts is in part by the rain, has got to be around (09:10) at the down beat of where the percussions hit the heads and all at once, the rain water spraying up..! Looking forward for next season!

I know this won't be a popularly shared sentiment, but at least i'll be honest. This has nothing to do with all of band members. i'm sure they work hard. but this was my least favorite show from the Pride in years for many reasons. One, the sound isn't there. problems with phasing in different parts of the show. Also the arrangement lacks the wow that has made the pride of arizona so special over the years. This is evident by the lack of mid show applause. if you watch prior year performances the pride hits you like a ton of bricks and the audience responds with applause in many occasions while the band plays. Each time there is a hit the audience responds. Watch prior shows to see what I mean. this show was very standard and most of the time the audience applauds only at the beginning or the end of the show. That's because they're just observing, but the music never compels them to be excited about the show. Another criticism: no soloists. at least none that were obvious. where's the screamer trumpet or the trombone solo? there was a good drum feature at the end which actually is the high light of the show. but what about the rest of the show? very standard and safe. And there's just never that wow moment, as said before. I know a lot of this has to do with the program being in flux, so i can't come down too hard on this, but I hope the pride can be returned to its prior glory in the coming years. The Pride was able to differentiate itself by its uniqueness in the past. This show does not do that. it's largely average and forgettable. I am not being overly critical, so please don't ban me or delete my comments. It's ok to criticize the band if it's done correctly and with respect. I feel that I have done so.

+Jake Blumberg Your sentiment is shared by a large corpus of fans and PoA alums alike. It is most definitely a year in transition, and I hope we all can make this transition together.

+Jordan Howard Ok didn't want to come across as some critic. Was just being honest and I was unaware of the year in transition since I live in Oregon but was definitely aware something was up. Also miss the lack of videos that have come out in the last couple of years. Most pac-12 bands produce several show projects and promotional projects each year in the pac-12. . This band has produced many great video projects over the years which have been highly entertaining and standouts in the pac-12 to view for all of us that don't get to come to the games or visit Arizona in person. I hope that gets back on track as well. All these unique things are what make a program successful.

I am an alum from the band. I performed this year, and I knew, from the first time I laid eyes on the music, that the show would not be as great as previous shows. This is in part because it was written by a third party not affiliated with the band. All other shows previous to this (1995-2014) were written by Professor Jay C. Rees. I specifically remember going up to Prescott for a performance early on in the year, and it was obvious that the band was not ready. I do, however feel that the band is back on track. We got a new director in Professor Chad Schoopman and I hope that you will enjoy the shows in the coming years! One thing that will remain eternal is our announcer, Don Haskell, and his amazing voice vibrating through the stadium. RIP Don, you will always remain in the hearts and minds of all who had the privilege to know you and hear your voice as it vibrated through the stadium.
