I’ve been watching your videos unit by unit as I took AP chem this year. I’m prepping for the test now, and I just want to say I wouldn’t be passing this class at all without these videos. Thank you for all you do :D
Thank you so much for these review videos; I'm confident about my final tomorrow but it doesn't hurt to refresh one's memory just in case.. I appreciate it Mr. Krug!
As a upcoming sophomore, I keep hearing about how impossible chem is and when I was wandering around one of their classrooms, I saw writings on the desk that said “drop out”, or “rip”, so I was checking how hard it was. Seems pretty extremely difficult.
@@JeremyKrug Some schools don't let you do chem first though, you either do regular or AP with no prep. I still managed to get a 4 but it made it substantially harder.
thankyou sooooooo much for these videos, they answered a lot of questions I have always been confused about. good luck to me with the test tomorrow...and the upcoming ap exam
When you discuss electron configurations, you say for scandium only the orbital 4s2 determines the valence electrons. I don't understand this because wouldn't 3d1 be the outer most shell, making scandium only having 1 valence electron?
The coefficient in front of the sublevel represents the outermost shell. So 4s2 is in the 4th shell, while 3d1 represents electrons in the 3rd shell. I hope this helps!
Not really. I used the 4 significant figure version because that is the version of Avogadro's Number that appears on the AP Chem exam equation packet. 6.02x10^23 should be just fine!
Very good question. The elements in Group 14 are actually quite varied. Carbon and silicon don't participate in ionic bonds very often (they tend to be in molecular compounds more frequently), and when they do, they aren't always +4 or -4. Germanium, being a metalloid like silicon, does something similar. Tin and Lead are full metals, and they can take +2 or +4 charges. Since Group 14 elements are all over the place when it comes to their charges, we don't talk about a hard-and-fast rule for their charges, because there really isn't one.
Cramming for my Midterm, and this has to be the best review I have seen. Short, concise and explains the math.
Thanks for watching and for the kind words. All the best on your midterm!
😂 Cramming for this exam! Thanks for high quality videos! I really appreciate it!
Best wishes on the cramming! You’ve got this!
did you get a 5?
Guys, pray for me. I have my first AP Chem test tomorrow and I do not feel ready. I'm praying this video helps me. 🤣

Thank you so much, Sayma. You've got this!
This video was so helpful! I cannot express how much this video helped me out, and I can't wait to watch the rest of the vidoes!

Thank you so much for making this series of AP Chemistry in 10 Minutes videos! Your videos saved my exam day, and I got a 3 on AP Chemistry!
I'm so glad to hear that. Thanks for watching, and best wishes in your future academic studies!
I only needed to recap what I learned 3 years ago and that is sooooo good !
Thank you so much
Glad it was helpful, 3 years is a long time, but if you learned it then, hopefully this refresher will help a lot.
Im learining more from you in 10 minutes than I did in an entire month
Wow, thank you so much for the compliment!

You've still got this weekend... Learn as much as you can!
OH MY GOD SAME LMFAO
@@chickenfart4728 the same:) But i believe AP Chem is not that stressful compared to Computer Science A, which I started learning 3 days ago.
i literally forgot everything i know about chemistry i'm so screwed 😭
China's AP Chemistry test is over now. but why there are 60 multiple choice questions this year😭
I just finished the 101 video course. Now taking notes and listening to the review series. Ur series helped me a lot. Thanks!

AP Chem is a hard class, but if you've had a good foundation in first year chem, you should be just fine.

funnily enough, my teacher chose this to be the last unit we cover for the year so i’m currently reviewing this in mid april for my test 😂
Sometimes it's good to end with #1. Thanks for watching!
I was taught 6.02*10^23, instead of 6.022*10^23. Will there ever be a situation where this could be a problem in my calculations on the exam?
Not really. I used the 4 significant figure version because that is the version of Avogadro's Number that appears on the AP Chem exam equation packet. 6.02x10^23 should be just fine!
Can you please kindly describe me what do you mean by "vice versa?"
It means that the reverse is also true.
@@JeremyKrug Thank you so much.
Can you teach chemistry in board very detailed because there very less resources available like you if it is in detailed will be lot helpful

Sorry to ask but why do we never talk about a positive or negative 4 charge in group 14

Doesnt scandium have three valence electrons...
It has 2, since that last electron is actually 3d^1.
