How do you meter under water?

      Hi!
In this case, I did not.
I did measure above water, and based on light levels at the surface I chose a shutterspeed. As the divetower is rather dark, pictures were taken at 1/30th and f/2.8 (maximum opening and longest (non-bulb) shutterspeed); unless pointed at the surface where I either closed the aperture a stop or put the shutter to 1/60.
The unpredictable exposure is also compensated a bit by doing stand-development; that really helps in cases like this.
In environments with a bit more light, I have since acquired a Sea&Sea waterproof lightmeter. Back in the day there were several options as well, for a few Sekonic meters there are waterproof housings, as well as some dedicated options.

Just got a III. Have you tried color film with it at depth? Any suggestions?

      I have a little bit-
It's tricky to color balance once you get to a few meters in Dutch waters- this might be better in clearer waters. The pool was fine, no issues there yet. If you end up with wonky colors, you can still process the results as b/w, though then I'm not sure if you could do so fully analog.
If you go too far, nearly no red will be left, so you'd need a strobe or other lightsource if you want to process them in color.
