Someone suggested bringing back the old Continental Basketball Association "quarters won" as a tie-breaker that wouldn't compromise the integrity of the game the way that point differential does. A four-point win could mean a lot in the tie-breaker if you win each quarter by 1 point each even of another team wins the 1Q big but then loses the next three.
Imagine if home cort advantage would be decidet not by season record but only based on games played between two teams meeting in playofs, i think that would increase importance of indicidual games.
