Nice. Never heard this before. This brings back memories. I became friends with Kelly through a mutual friend we had. Kelly did some volunteer work, helping me clear fallen trees off mountain bike trails after hurricane Fran came through. I kept my guitar in the office, and when we'd take a break or the weather would get too bad to work, we'd sit around and play some music. Loved his voice. I also later became friends with the producer of the COL albums, John Custer. He gave me a copy of another unreleased song by them called Shade Tree. Don't know if it was finally ever released, but it should be. Amazing tune.
Mabey 3 decades ago I used to record King Biscuit 🍪 Flower Hour religiously..I want to say that's where I first heard and recorded this band..they were Special..a familiar sound of so many of the Southern Rock Giants but they were a Special kind Groovy,Rock Driven,Pure make ya feel good music, which I sorely miss..Kelly was the Standard for other singers and the band was simply Great...I lost them for over 30 yrs!..(couldn't remember their name!?) I stumbled across them just days ago and it sounded just as sweet as I remember..Thank U All for sharing your Gift .
Just found this song. Kelly had an awesome voice, would've loved to see them back in the day. Damn, I miss good music! Thank God for TH-cam. Thank you for posting.
I agree 100%. They didn’t get on New York radio. The bribes that must be paid for the crap I hear. Found about this band last year. Both albums, singers, styles. I hope they make another record. Sadly I read Kelly passed. R.I.P. sir. Wish you were here…
I have always loved listening to this band. Whatever happened to these guys? I guess they didn't make it because they are Southern Rock and hit the scene during the Grunge Rock era.
But they released a second album with Robert Mason on vocals. A very good album, though not as good as brother. Sadly, Kelly Holland (original vocalist) passed away back in 2014.
love to hear true Southern gentlemen talk, and sing !!

I think I never heard Kel sing so effortless and beautiful
I wish for a box set with every Kelly Holland/Cry of Love recording.
Raw talent squandered by the music industry.I would give a million dollars to see what might have been with these guys.
I'll pitch in a coupla hundred bucks. These guys rocked!
I'm all in for a Fiver. I'm poor and love them, Kel my brother...THE voice.

Kelly was a great musician and a great man. I miss this. Passion for music and songwriting. RIP KH
This would have been a big hit if they would have put this version on the original album
Broken Toy too
@@lukemanify Most Definitely!

I miss Kelly.
I saw them live twice in the 1990s. Once in a club and the other opening for ZZ Top in a big arena. Smokin' live band!

The lead singer left them the year after their debut album.
