@@tidelinetoalpineyou coulda opened the driver's door and held it, so no risk of tipping...... And called Frank to the front. Overlanders use open doors all the time on steep side slopes. You don't Wana pull hard on it, but the door weight and fifty pounds from your hands makes a massive difference to the tipping risk.
I’ve been stuck in my van a lot of times but it had never worried me until this time. Going off the road is one of my biggest fear and I’m sure that played into how I perceived this situation. I hope you’re having a great day and enjoyed the video.
Every new arctic video of yours i think, wow this is her best one yet! Your drone footage, your authenticity, that experience thumbs up 👍 amazing work you’re doing there Amanda!
Hi Amanda , driveshaft U-Joint grease fittings are really important to keep greased . Belt squeaking a 94 van might have a air pump as part of the emissions stuff and they have a bad habit of freezing up . How to identify this , they have large pulley with a plastic piece with a lot of holes it that turns with the pulley and a really skinny belt compared to the other belts ..If it freezes up no panic just take the belt off even if you have to cut it off . Leave it off a keep going . It’s one those few things you don’t have to fix . Try to get some swamp gator insect repellent all natural and works great . I hate mosquitoes , but I do like what the Aussies call them Mozzies , sounds so much better . Well safe travels . If you get in a pinch mechanical wise with the Van just get a hold of me through you tube by replying to this comment and we can figure a way for me to get you my number .
So glad you got out of that nasty situation even though it was costly. Wonderful video overall. We really enjoy and appreciate how much time, expertise and effort you put into producing your videos. That was the absolute cutest Frank by the way.❤
You saved Truck....and yourself! Wow, that was close. So happy that surprise experience turned out well. 86° C in the Artic sounds insane; add in the midnight sun and the mosquitoes, and it's "other worldly." Thanks for the drone shots and the precious Artic flowers. This entire journey has been amazing😊
Your angels were really watching over you. At least you and Frank are safe with no issues except being told that it’s expensive for help. Polar bears can be cute…fro afar.
The way you're taking care of Frank in his senior years is a beautiful thing, he's a spectacular fellow! It's obvious that you have both been blessed by sharing your lives together. Wishing you both many, many more adventures, safe travels and much success.
You are the opposite of bonehead. Glad truck is ok......love the yoga cards on the wall. What a beautiful area. I love wildflowers. You handle stress well. I admire that. Frank swimming. So cute. ☮💜🐾
He was not impressed with the other dog and just wanted to focus on swimming 😆 I made sure to throw the toy so he would always get it first because Frank doesn’t share well when swimming.
Hello from Missouri! I love your videos. They really inspire me. And I hope to be an adventurer soon too. Thanks for sharing your adventures. Glad that you, Frank and the van are ok. Safe travels.
I did the same against my wife’s advice in the wilds of Belize and sank our van in the clay. What you’ve found out is that help is at hand. You’re in the wilderness but you’ll be fine. I got my 9300 pound van out of the clay hiring a back hoe and we had dug like crazy trying to get out. At least you didn’t break anything else. Don’t let this experience do anything but strengthen you.
Wow! In the tundras!! Amazing adventures. I so much enjoyed this video. I admire your bravery. Also plain jaleous to be honest. Be safe and thank you for showing us the beauty in this world. 🙏✨❤️
you did the right thing in so many ways, especially owning your mistake and being gracious with the situation. I especially appreciate you posting this video, *I* learned a lesson from this video and will always keep it in mind when I'm solo traveling ❤
Beautiful footage. I marvel that your hands aren't swollen from bites. Thanks for all your hard work and sharing. Having once rolled in slow motion in a van that 'fell off' the road, I can imagine how you were holding your breath for a little while. It's great to see you and Frank are ok.
I'm glad you got a tow within the day, that angle was scary. I applaud you getting a grease gun. That's a wise investment considering all the driving you do and what kind of vehicle you have. Your nature scenery was amazing as usual! All the best to everyone.
😊 Happy everything worked out. Just finished the Dempster myself a few days ago. Got 1 flat tire and good God my van was dirty and unhappy at the end (wheels all out of balance from there dirt stuck to them). But SO worth it. Back in Whitehouse now. Van went to the car wash... Still not clean (1 wash wasn't enough)... But drives much better now. If anyone is thinking of doing this trip... DO IT! It's a lot of planning and a very long drive but so satisfying to complete. And as always, Frank is such a good boy.
Congrats on a successful Dempster trip. I’m done the Dempster but haven’t been able to wash Truck yet. The dust on the road is hard on it for sure, and my windshield has a few new chips. Definitely worth it though.
My stomach was turning, looking at your van in that position. I couldn't imagine how hard it had to be to wait that long with it like that. I swear it looked like it could roll over at any moment. You're very good at handling difficult situations.
We're very happy you, Frank and your van were rescued. Hopefully, cooler weather is on the way for you & Frank to enjoy. You're an angel to find a wonderful body of water for Frank to enjoy a swim. Glad you found some cool, refreshing water to soak in, too.
I occasionally watch youtube on my smart TV and even though its not as easy to navigate I, at least, can and do leave likes! In case it may help anyone else to know I hit the right directional arrow to bring up some info along the bottom and can then direct upward and to the right again to get to the thumbs up and further right to access the description box and other options 😊
It always amazes whenever one looks at all this beautiful land vastness like this green tundra you are going through Amanda, but yet they say there is NOT enough space on the whole plant 🌎 for the growing population. Good to see Mr Frank 🐕 getting in some good therapeutic fetch-swims. He sure has some long webbed toes 😂 Glad you both are okay from that accidental off-road incident, that's the important thing. Hopefully "Truck" will have no future issues from the event 🙏😊
This was a great video! So happy your truck didn’t roll and you and Frank were okay and found a tow! You used a phrase that I wanted to tell you is one of my favorite phrases that I have used since I was a child. LOL my senior mind doesn’t remember it now that the video is almost over and I tried to search the transcript but can’t find it! Was it Dillydalling? 🤣😂🤷🏻♀️. Oh well, safe travels to you and Frank! ❤
Good thing those dudes showed up with the sat phone. I shudder to think of what could have easily happened out there. So close to disaster, glad all is well now. Keep on truckin'!
So thankful y'all are alright!!!!! Beautiful footage of the tundra and I'm glad you showed the loam soil, it helps to understand our Earth. It's like a crochet blanket of plant life. The heat waves have been super difficult for sure. Stay Safe! Give Frank a smooch from his biggest Alabama Fan!!!!! XOXO 😘
Hi Amanda and frank I injoy watching your video and hope can keep yourselves on the up and up I'll be waiting for the video to come out bye for now and have safe travels
Wow!! So glad you Frank & Truck are A-Okay!! You made the right call and with patience it all turned out fine! Drone shots are fab of the tundra. The mossy ground looked so challenging on your midnight hike up to the knoll!! Enjoy your relaxing as you go. Loved the journey thanks so much. Cheers Debbie ♥️🙂♥️
Beautiful scenery. I am the one who is scared of everything since I have been in my 50s. LoL I could not get that far from my van or dog. I am in the states in the Midwest and that is something you just can’t do. People can’t keep their hands off others things. Even in the middle of no where. Lol thank you for sharing your journey with us. I love seeing it through your eyes. Much love to you and Frank!! 🦋❤️🦋❤️🦋❤️🦋
I'm glad you and Frank are safe and didn't do a tumble. I also appreciate the LMNT link, I'm a really active guy and do forget to take extra of those electrolytes. The universe smacked me in the face today and I purchased some, for I was in search of something, so thank you.
Can’t put into words how crazy happy I am for you and Frank. I love that you guys are living your best life, your way. I really appreciate you taking us along on your journey. Places I’ll never see become accessible through your lens. What a great gift you give. Safe travels ❤
Wow, price gouging in arctic. Glad you got out safely. Current temp here in southern Ohio is 91F with the heat index at 96. Stay safe out there. And cool 😊❤
Even though it was a hefty price tag I actually considered it very cheap given the situation. If I had been 100km out of town on a dirt road in BC it would have been several 1000 dollars and I would have had to wait days or weeks to get someone out to me. I was lucky this gravel road is classified as a highway and given it took at least 4 hours out of his day I was grateful it wasn’t more.
That pic of the van on the side of the road looked so scary! Happy you were able to get out safely, but sadly expensive! But then again cheaper than losing truck to a roll over. It's a heatwave here in Michigan. A storm came thru and knocked our power out, for a few days now. I def thought of you Amanda! Hugs to you and sweet Frank! Travel safe ❤😊❤
Glad it worked out for you both! Been watching since I saw you visit with Foresty Forest! But I mostly watch on my tv and can't comment that way. Was online while watching today and thought I'd say hello! Have safe travels (wherever you are currently) and I'll be watching. Oh yeah, hint. You don't have to eat grapefruit with one of those forks or spoons, my favorite way is to peal them like an orange, pull apart the segments (like an orange) and then just peal off the thin membrane to eat just the nice chunks of fruit with a light sprinkle of Himalayan pink salt! Or slice into rings and pull apart to get to just eat the fruit. It most likely would taste much like you drink! Especially pink grapefruit! Yum! 💛
Well, you and Frank are safe, and that's all that matters. Yes, be grateful you didn't roll over. I had unexpected car issues this week, that's costing me money I wasn't planning on spending. We have to look at the unexpected from a positive side. Stay safe and happy. 😊
The same thing happened to me one time- just pulling over and soft ground grabbed the tires. I never paid attention to this "soft shoulder" signs on the road but do now. Glad you and Frank are safe
I am glad that tow truck got you out of there...remember it is only money and your life and Frank's life are priceless. Happy safe travels for the rest of your journey!💛💚💜🖤
Wow, that mushy ground leaning Truck of Amanda experience - alarming! Otherwise, beautiful places, and thanks for sharing how you and Frank find ways to be cool.
I was proud of myself today for not getting too worked up about being stuck in big city traffic. Then, I watched your video. Now, that would be something to get worked up about! But, you came on with a lift and smile in your voice, reminding us that we are all so human. No need for a boring travelogue. We have Amanda’s Arctic Adventures. Thanks.
I ended up at that same angle high centered in a barrow ditch with my rv. Once you get into that position' there's really nothing you can do. I had to wait two hours for the heavy duty tow to pull me sideways onto the road again. So glad you got out safely. It is expensive but getting free safely is worth it. Hope future travels are less exciting!
Glad that ended with only a tow bill. Scary to see the van sitting at that angle. At least the polar bear didn’t drop in to visit. Frank makes the day better.
I enjoy your videos so much, Amanda. The bond you & Frank have, & the openhearted way you share your lives with us is beyond beautiful. I subscribed to your ambient channel; & joined Patreon as well, as a token of appreciation for all you do, & who you are. Wishing you safe travels, & many more adventures ❤
Each episode is better than the last! Thank you so much for sharing with us. Good job greasing the front end of Truck, regular PM like that will save a ton of $ in the long run. There are usually zerks on the driveshaft and possibly on the rear suspension as well.
Hey! We were the ones who stopped and called on the SAT phone! Crazy! Glad you didn't get sucked in!
Hey 👋🏼 THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I hope you’re having a great summer.
Thanks for helping them out. Good people on the road.

That picture of Frank melts my heart n maid me smile so big. Frank. What a lover.😊❤😊
Excellent video. Loved it. Thank you!
Unexpected misadventures & unparalleled beauty! Another great ‘tidelinetoalpine’ film, Amanda 🥰
That was really scary! Relieved the tow was able to get you out and you and Frank are alright. Don't be looking for polar bears.😅😅😅
Every new arctic video of yours i think, wow this is her best one yet! Your drone footage, your authenticity, that experience thumbs up 👍 amazing work you’re doing there Amanda!
Thank you! The best scenery is yet to come, I don’t know how it’s possible but it is.
That van tilting like that had me on edge. I'm glad Frank is such a chill dog.
I am so glad you and Frank are safe!!! How very scary!!! I am glad the weather was good.
Oh my goodness 😮 I'm glad you and Frank are ok .
So glad everything worked out and you, Frank and truck are all ok. Safe trip south xx
I'm so glad you and Frank are safe. Safe travels.
People who laugh at others' mistakes haven't made enough of their own. Glad you are safe and sound.
Usually you think if you have a vehicle problem it’s okay. It’s your home. Settle in & wait. Uh. NO. You did the right thing. Take Care
Oh girl! I am so glad you and Frank are okay.
Girl! I'm so glad this was not a headline in the news. God bless you. That's a strong message.
I've gotten stuck worse than that in a big rig so don't feel dumb. ❤
Omg lolz 😂. FRANK!!!! The endings of your videos, with Frank smiling ALWAYS make me feel good and make me chuckle. So 🥰 cute. Thank you!

Thanks Pam! I wish I had seen the polar bear but maybe another Arctic trip.

Oooh, I almost forgot, I bought the raspberry LMNT electrolyte drink and I love it. Especially when I am outside in the heat.
Congratulations and thank you Lord!
Yup. I would have been crappin' my pants to go off the road like that. I'm glad you and Frank are OK. Great video!
The squeaking is usually the sway bar bushings against the sway bar and the end links so greasing doesn't help, you have to spray them with silicone.
Thank you! I will try that after I can wash it again. It started down in the desert on dusty roads and these roads haven’t helped.
