It's a combination keyboard/printer. the user supplies the software.

I was writing my first poem at my typewriter in 1984. In Indonesia, typewriters were used up to 2000. After 2000, it slowly abandoned. The reason is the changing requirements for the documents (printed and not typed), and the cheaper bubble jet printer.

I have 3 Typewriter :) One from 1930, one from 1946 and one i found in a dumster. And it work 100%

sad california typerwriter is closed. It would have just been a road trip for me to buy a new typewriter. I guess now I gotta fly to new york and see gramercy typewriter

Yeah, I love typewriters too. I have quite a collection, and it gives me great satisfaction to take a machine that looks like it belongs in the dumpster or a parts machine and bring it back to a gleaming new life of tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, ... But let's be real. If it was our job to type other people's letters as fast as possible for eight hours a day five days a week and develop carpal tunnel syndrome while doing it we wouldn't be so enamored of typewriters would we?
