Hell of a video! I felt obliged to suscribe, love how you even showcase how to make a capucinno with the set up and even added some tips. Will definitely be buying this combo for my first setup! Cheers from Argentina

I chose a grinder, the Greif CM 800, which initially I would have thrown out the window, but after a while I understood how it worked and now I'm very satisfied, of course with the Bambino!

That's awesome! There's a good bit of equipment out there that has a bit of a learning curve, but turns out to be a great purchase. Glad you're enjoying it.

As of Feb 2024, this is undoubtedly the best value espresso set up in the market. Let's you enter the espresso game at a reasonable price, giving you the option to upgrade later as you go along

Agreed though I would throw that plastic tamp in the garbage. Can get the normcore tamp for like $40.

Upgrading the tamp is a fantastic move!

I live in a small apartment. I also get up at 4 am for work. I purchased a timecore chestnut c3s max hand grinder because i don't want to wake up my family and neighbors. Is my grinder sufficient enough???
I dont have a machine yet, but I would choose the bambino plus over the bambino for the 3 way solenoid so that my pucks are clean and easily removed from the portafilter. Is the puck a watery mess in the standard bambino?

Grinder should be ok. You will not have watery pucks if you grind fine enough and dial in properly so if it’s your only concern, get bambino. The only benefit of having bambino plus is auto milk frothing.

Now that they ship the Bambino with standard baskets and the frothing milk pitcher the price difference to step up to the Bambino plus really does come down to
      1) the added technology for auto milk frothing
      2) the 4-hole steam wand tip
      3) solenoid valve
      4) better portafilter handle (stainless over aluminum)
      5) a better tamper
      6) bigger water reservoir (the auto purging uses a lot of water though so I'm not entirely sure it's going to last you any longer if you're into milkies)

@NoZenith I found a few sites that sell the plus model for $314.99. If they actually do, I'll probably get the plus. I'll be upgrading the portafilter and baskets and shower screen regardless of what model I get. I just really want a dry puck after pulling my shots

@stanleyderochea6505 depending on the headspace you give yourself, I do sometimes have water on top of the puck but the puck itself isn't soupy or anything, ever. Usually knocks out in one piece but sometimes I have some stuff stuck in a corner around one side but I understand that is pretty normal and still a lot nicer than no solenoid valve. If you have the time. Most household appliances in the US go on sale around Mother's Day. I got my Breville Bambino 30% off last year. According to some very knowledgeable content creators on here and in forums, Bravo makes some of the highest quality stock baskets on the market and I never bothered to upgrade anything. I believe James Hoffman is one of the ones who did the reviews and comparisons and he was very impressed with breville. Lance Hedrick has also been impressed by Breville and they are both rather meticulous. I would say make it a Down the road upgrade for that stuff if you're trying to budget. Invest all those extra dollars in a better grinder. I don't regret the niche zero anymore and I bought it a month before the price dropped a bit.

what is the difference of like a manual flair compared to a cheap machine like this in terms of coffee quality?

    • @primacoffeeequipment
      @primacoffeeequipment  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Fully manual espresso makers don't brew as hot, or with a high and stable pressure throughout the entire brew, and the result is an inherently lower extraction unless yield is pushed higher. Essentially, a pump machine allows you to extract more from the coffee with less water.

Does it make a big impact not having a pressure gauge to look at compared to other sage models?

      No

👆 What they said. Pressure gauges are a cool addition, but you can make great espresso without them.
