Anna, Lauren and Irina had so much potential in the story but they were always put down for some reason. Irina had a better position because she was the mother, but still... Lauren was not a expert in fighting like Sidney was, but she did hold her ground very well...

I think for the sake of the writers wanting Vaughn to kill Lauren, they dumbed down Sydney's fighting skills. Otherwise, she could have killed Lauren earlier in the fight.

Idk why I always felt they dumbed down Sydney's fighting skills here to match Lauren.
Compare this fighting to season 1-2 fighting, it's very mundane. Sydney can do far better then this.

Alias was a decent series. I can remember some episodes. The fight is very good but interesting that the heroine couldn't defeat her opponent herself.
I think the dramatic justice of this scene is that Lauren betrayed Vaughn (her husband), so the show let him have the final blow.

Vaughn had to be the one to kill her. Also Lauren's absolutley insane haha. Possibly more so than Ana, so I'm no surprised she almost lost to Lauren

It would've been better, especially storyline wise if Lauren, instead of Anna, was doubled to look like Sydney.
The masks in this episode might've been silly, but from a story standpoint they sure were fun!

Never watched Alias, but from clips I've seen on TH-cam, Sydney seems to struggle pretty mightily in her fights and might lose more often than she wins.
Probably it's to make the character and her struggles more realistic. She's a very remarkable agent, but she's not invincible.

@@helloitisme7430 I think the in-show explanation is that the women she fights are elite agents while the men she fights are mostly random unsuspecting guards.
Very much not the case. Especially in the first two seasons. It’s almost ridiculous how easily she knocks people out.

Although I watched this series..I came to realize that Sydney was a crappy fighter..
I honestly didnt like season 3 that much because of they wasted such a interesting and potential character by turning her into a typical backstabbing witch.
Tbf, most tv series seem to start slipping by the end of their 2nd season / or anything past 3 imo, believing that if they have nonstop "twists and turns" it will be the "tv show of the year" type of deal, when in reality, it's about quality over quantity; hence: Simpsons or anything that's lasted that long (or close enough).
Also, on a different note, I'm assuming you're a fan of Megadeth? "Ashes In Your Mouth" is my favorite song by them. :)
@@catfightparadise Have been for a long time but im also fan of several other metal bands such as Metallica, Accept, Saxon, Judas Priest, Dio and Anthrax, i listened to slayer but never been a fan of them. And i never liked Death metal or black metal.
Countdown of extinction is great and easily one of my favorite metal album.
@@deeppurplefan9648 Metallica is probably my number #1 favorite band of all time, as "corny" as that phrase may sound, since so many metalheads think Metallica are sellouts / terrible and such. Despite that, "...And Justice For All" is my favorite album by them. Alongside Metallica tho.. I'd have to say.. Danzig, Gorgoroth, The Berzerker, Mudvayne, Pantera & of course, Megadeth. Outside of metal tho, I like a lot of skate punk like Millencolin, Lagwagon, MxPx & early Sum 41. Glad to have met a fellow headbanger. \m/
@@catfightparadise That is just a typical behaviour among many extreme metalheads who thinks every music that is mainstream is crap which is why i rarely joins metal communities since they can just be as toxic as rap or EDM. My biggest favorite album from Metallica is ride the lightning. I like Pantera but i only listened to cowboys from hell which is a great album but i will listen to them more in the future
I have several favorite bands and artists outside the metal realm such as Foreigner, Depeche Mode, Dire Straits, New Order, Deep Purple, Bryan Ferry, Robert Palmer, Gary Moore, Nirvana and 80s U2
And i also likes to listen to funk, 80s r&b, instrumental jazz, outlaw country and some reggae.

Yeah, I found myself to not fit in into the many niche interests/hobbies I like, which is a bit ironic, since many of these "niche" things like catfights, comic books, slasher films, heavy metal, etc. are for, typically, the "niche" crowd, so.. *shrugs* it's funny when you feel outcasted by the so-called "outcasts" sometimes.
Anyways.. it's good you listen to other artists / genres as well as myself, sometimes one genre can really put you in a hole if you're in it too long. Branching out is always a good thing. Unfortunately for me, I didn't really start branching out until I was completely done with high school. After that phase.. I just realized music is such a trivial thing such as any other interest / hobby, that I don't have time to "hate" or "rebel" against such things.
You never know what you're missing out on if you put yourself in a sheltered corner and never go outside of your comfort zone.. that's what I've learned at least. lol

@@helloitisme7430 I understand what you're saying, but most shows / movies (especially nowadays) aren't consistent on what's "realistic" and what's "not" tbf. Bad writing is bad writing, it's everywhere. Though, that doesn't stop me from liking a catfight such as this one.
