    I was a huge fan of Leaning Tree cards...... Long before I ever met Gil. I could spend an hour at the grocery store looking at every card. The art work on these cards is amazing! I find that all of Gil's art work has a calming effect. I don't care how stressed I am... All I have to do is look at one of Gil's paintings, and I feel great!

      Karyn Felix-Angell That's how I felt today....home sick in bed for 3 weeks now with the flu/cough/congestion that keeps trying to come back! How refreshing to watch your videos. Gil's work is totally amazing! Thank you for the cheering up!

      Hopefully, you will begin to feel better soon! Some herbal tea, a humidifier, some soothing music, and a few of Gil Bennet's paintings will sure aid in the recovery process! Thanks for watching! :D

    Man I wish I could afford one of his paintings. I looked him up and wowza I couldn’t spend that much on a painting its worth it though his work looks like it was taken by a camera. Maybe one day haha.

    Gil Bennett's layout is great. And I love his art work on trains. He did a good job.

      We need to get back there! He pretty much finished the railroad up for the national NMRA Guy convention! I hear it’s spectacular!

      Hey, Adam! I feel the same way! As far as talent... My skills lie in other directions.. This last episode is going to require a repair man.... Hummm... If you're going to do a thing... Make it a project, I always say. And I did!!!

    "Well! That's another fine adventure you got us into, Ollie." I have seen Gil's paintings for years. It is even more of a treat to watch the artist paint; be it only for a few seconds." Backgrounds appear to be acrylic or oils. He does his paintings in watercolor and watecolor Guashe`. Thank you for this trip. Greg and Jeanne

      Happy Birthday y-all! Gil is sooooooo very good at this AMAZING. He painted his backdrop right on the wall at his old house, and just left it there when they moved. THEN his WALL turned up on eBay!!! THey cut out the section. Pissed him off!!!! Now its all on hard board.

    I adore railway paintings. I'm going to order a print of a my favorite work "The Fall of London" by Grant Regant. It's a painting depicting the last train carrying refugees out of London in War of the Worlds. The city is burning, Tripods are approaching, the train is steaming away as people are still trying to climb aboard. The fireman's wielding a shovel to fight off someone trying to get into the cab. So intense and yet beautiful.

    So awesome! I love the weathering he's done on those engines... the grease stains around the stacks that is to rare to see in a model... but what really kept getting my attention on those engines, was that firebox flicker!
    Wow.

    • @ToyManTelevision
      @ToyManTelevision  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sound Traxx. but the mounting of the firebox lights are perfect. I want to model like that when I grow up.

    The only reason I can think that someone would give it a thumbs down is they're just negative Nellie's. Another great video! I wouldn't know what to tell you that could improve the show. Maybe less self promotion but if did that you would have none so I don't know what say so I say nothing. Again great show stay safe, healthy and wise until next time Lord willing.

      We love to promote stuff that we really like. If we run into something that’s cool we like to share that with people. We have great hopes for the upcoming Train shows. Just blown away at the upcoming stuff, especially the big boy! Clear back when I was in high school they had the hundredth anniversary of that real Road and the jury rig to locomotives to take the part of the Jupiter in the 119 out of some Virginia in Truckee engines. But what an amazing time that was! And the next year and a half seems like it’s going to really be an amazing thing all these great Train Shop is in events coming up

    Very Neat! Thanks for continuing to capture, do all the work editing, and sharing these videos!!! At the 5.00 mark, spot in you video, it looks exactly like the real thing. If I did not know it was a model with background at that point, I would swear it was real. Only the smoke from the locomotive is missing.
    I have a question for you. And you have probably been asked this before, but, here goes. I know the video is available for how Steve does his trees. Have you considered expanding on that? Such as, for instance, instructional videos of how Gil does his rocks, or his paintings(which I know he sales). Instructional videos of how Steve for instance, from start to finish, comes up with, develops, builds, paints, details his scratch built buildings. And I know you and Al, do rolling stock from scratch and know others that do, so that is another instructional video possibility. To be sold along with Al's tree video on the O scale guys web site. Seems with you skills in film and video, that would be a good area for you. (How can anyone down thumb these videos?! That is really beyond my understanding! They are wonderful! And the individuals you feature, events, and locations, are wonderful indeed!)

    • @ToyManTelevision
      @ToyManTelevision  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Google no longer lets us sell on TH-cam. BUT Al has his tree video on DVD. I love making these, and we are planning more "how to" videos. Gil did a backdrop show which will be up in 3 weeks I think. AND this is one of many backdrop shows. We are doing backdrop shows as we are working on that on out railroad. We have a play list for those. BUT we are planning shows on scratch building, working in brass, and other stuff. I did put up a show on using PhotoShop with model photos, add ing a snow storm. FUN but not a lot of people looking for that. BUT its a good show!!! th-cam.com/video/GKwp0NZjKA4/w-d-xo.html

    Because the shop boss had to mix colors, the DRGW boxcars were varying colors of brown-ish. Over time, some of the cars became a lighter brown and some would fade to shades of pink, especially if the stretched the brown paint by adding red.
    Some DRGW slides from the 1950s:
