This kid was already an athlete. He at an early age did gymnastics and if you see Olympic gymnast. You can see their overall body muscle development. He, through gymnastic injuries said " the heck with that " & took on wanting to bodybuild. Cause of his past gymnastics background he was ahead of the game from others. Though he wasn't huge as a kid he had muscle tone to his very young body.
