The Germans supplied weapons and equipment to the Chinese army shortly before the Japanese invasion. Germany and China had a military agreement before the start of WW2.
They bought their helmets from the Soviets (until 1942 the only supplier to the Chinese) But the elite were German trained and Uniformed for many years;
They ARE M35 German helmets! Germany exported too many to China, as a result many German units still wore the old WW1 stile helmets when they invaded Poland!
in every battle , only hard trained and highly motivated army will prevail... prevail victorious even when they are not the home team.. or prevail courageous and brave even in defeat and retreat...
I'm a military history buff. Virtually zero realism here, although the uniforms, weapons & equipment are very, very nice. Too nice, in fact. (A) No modern army moves infantry on foot, in daylight, in a combat zone in such densely packed groups. (B) No reconnaissance, no foot patrols, again underscoring the stupidity of moving large, densely packed groups of infantry out in the open, in broad daylight. This movie is totally ridiculous, made to make the Chinese soldier look heroic, regardless of the situation. (At this stage of the war, most Chinese soldiers in combat either died, ran like hell, or were captured.) (C) With that much artillery & machine gun fire going off in such small areas, everybody should be dead or wounded. Everybody. No survivors. If there were any survivors who could run, they would have run like hell. (D) The Chinese Nationalist Army had no standard organization, weapons, equipment, or even small arms calibers. Different warlords bought different weapons & equipment from different Western countries at different times. The result was a mishmash of different caliber weapons -- a logistical nightmare. Yes, some units had German helmets, because local warlords bought German equipment captured at the end of World War I. But even their elite units weren't this well equipped. Some units actually went into combat with wooden spears, bows & arrows. I am not making this up. Others went into combat with 3-5 rounds of rifle ammunition & when that ran out, a bayonet. Only when US supplied rifles, machine guns, mortars, artillery, uniforms & helmets -- and plenty of ammunition, in standard US calibers -- arrived, did Chinese Nationalist forces even start to resemble a modern, well equipped army. But the Communists in charge of this movie would never admit that.

Good evening, love and respect to your wonderful channel and for providing us with automatic translation into Arabic. Wonderful Chinese drama series that are anti-Japanese. I loved them and enjoyed watching them.👌🤩💪🫶♥
This is a movie about the war between Japan and China 1937-45. At that time Chiang Kai-chek and Mao stopped their civil war and fought together. Japan was superior in modern weapons and tactics. But China get some help from Germany. Germany had some years before helped Chiang Kai-chek building up a defense industry and sent generals to help him fighting Mao. Three elite divisions were trained by General von Falkenhausen. Therefore the german helmets in the movie. They gave the Japanese a bad surprise. Later Japan allied with Hitler.
At the start of ww2 even tanks in some armies did not have radios and still used visual signal flags. Infact Chinese were one of the first armies to have all their T26 tanks with aerials ( they bought all command tanks from USSR) Infantry used flags for both visual signals and for recognition from the air.A good example is that to charge the battle flag would be waved side to side - radios weren’t very prevalent or easily transportable- in 1940 invasion of France both German and French still were using pigeons. I have photos of German pidgeon handlers and from memory Petain did not trust radios - another reason for French defeat. Flags were also used to show extent of an advance and taking of key objectives also helped support ing artillery to pinpoint friendly troops.
@@koganinja100 Germans had Hawk units, to intercept enemy pigeons. Pigeons earned the most Medals, during WW2,. The PDSA Dickin Medal was instituted in 1943 in the United Kingdom by Maria Dickin to honour the work of animals in World War II. The medal was awarded 54 times between 1943 and 1949 - to 32 pigeons, 18 dogs, 3 horses, and a ship's cat - to acknowledge actions of gallantry or devotion during the Second World War and subsequent conflicts.
