    We had a tread delivered about 6 weeks before the recall and loved it. I’ve been very in to running previously and my partner was really getting in to it as the recall was announced so we were a bit frustrated at not being able to use it. I can repot that peloton have completed our fix and we’re back to using it now.

    My wife just bought this...so I have been doing some research to see if I should convince her to cancel it before it gets here. I honestly had no intention of subscribing to your channel. However, you're in depth review and your werewolf child convinced me that your opinion was worth adding to my streams;)
    Keep it up!

    There is a product called "Loctite" which we use at work, when we want to insure bolts never back out. I believe you can buy it a most hardware stores (at least here in the U.S.). It could be a quick fix until a permanent fix is made.

    So, after getting my refund back . Peloton still hadn't picked up my treadmill. What should I do? I contacted them three different times to get it picked up but every time they were supposed to show up and pick it up. they never call me to say they aren't going to show, they just don't show up. What should I do. Keep it, and never reply to them ? Or try and contact them for the fourth time ????

    Great video Steve! My wife recently decided to get into running, so I’ve been doing that with her the last couple months. Just had a Bike+ delivered this week, but I think I am going to return that for the regular bike…and put that $1k toward the tread.

    I dont smile when I run because I don't like all the bugs in the air lol they stick to my teeth 🤣😂 I run in the country on dirt roads.. I love it. We have brutal winters with strong winds so I just ordered the peleton. I hope that it helps keep me going because winter blues are a real thing

    Great vid. I’ve never been a runner but love my bike. I’m going daily now about 35km or so doing all the rides. Love it. Now I would love your take on the following. I’ve done a lot of research and many are saying an elliptical blows away treadmill and bike. Sadly peloton doesn’t make a elliptical but figured you might have some insight. Thanks as always Julien.

    • @SteveJulien
      @SteveJulien  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks!
      I’ve not tried an elliptical but have recently started rowing again which I’m really enjoying.
      Think the Peloton Rower will be later this year or next.

    Had the "fix" last week and they replaced the arm and fit a brand new screen so very happy (except needing to put zwift back on!) Quick question.....couldn't help notice your bike (filmed in May)......did you not replace it with a bike+? I am sold on the auto-follow and better sound from the screen but wanted to know your thoughts if that is really worth £1k post the recent £400 reduction. Keen to get your thoughts if the bike+ is a game changer as about to pull the trigger and just worried if future software features may ultimately leave the original bike obsolete? Happy to trade your thoughts in return for a coffee!

    • @SteveJulien
      @SteveJulien  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Simon, glad to hear it’s fixed!
      Here’s a comparison video I made for the bikes.
      Towards the end, it talks about the cost difference (albeit bigger now) over the long term.
      Hope that helps!

    I too have a limited lung function, due to me being a premie baby 59 years ago. I also have exercised-induced asthma, but I have learned to notice the beginning stages of an episode and immediately slow down til it subsides. Here I thought I was unique! :) PS: I'm also short (5 ft. 4 inches tall), with tall friends, so I really loved the "handbag dog" comment. hehe

    Great video 👍. I personally use Nordictrack treadmill because Peloton is not available here, and I'm more of a walking type. Being able to walk with between -6% to 40% incline is great.

    Nice Video! Good news....my Tread screen was "replaced" yesterday by a Peloton tech as part of the official Peloton Canada Tread fix (yes a brand new screen!). The new screen is the same design, but it is basically a new design for the attachment of the screen to the Tread. It appears to be now a completely solid piece that connects directly the screen's pivot arm to the Tread. Looks identical to the old design, so you can't tell by just looking if it has been changed since the new screws are hidden behind a plastic cover. Screen now feels much more sturdy. This fix + the new software update that requires a pass code after about 15 secs of inactivity will now make this Tread much safer...still best to keep the safety key always hidden somewhere too!

    Hi Steve. I have the bike+ and absolutely love it. Seeing the tread videos is making me tempted to buy one. Only potential issue is that my little office/bike room (tread space) is in my smallest upstairs room. Whilst there is enough space, do you think the tread would be too heavy or generate too much noise for anyone downstairs whilst using?

    • @SteveJulien
      @SteveJulien  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Tread is great!
      The delivery guys said they can put them upstairs as it comes in boxes but for noise, I think there would be quite a bit of thumping.
      Would be fine if others were out.
      Full specs for weight and dimensions are on the website and Peloton also recommend a 6ft run off at the back (which I never had)

    Another great video - thank you. How are you enjoying your Nordick Track now? I was quite tempted to go down that path but have heard bad things about customer support so am sorely tempted to buy a replacement Tread again now that they've fixed the issue, though they've hiked the price up hugely - I gather they want to reach a different customer base ......................... hmmmm!!

    • @SteveJulien
      @SteveJulien  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Peloton Tread is excellent just too much at 3.5k. Still loving the features on the NordicTrack (and have purchased the extended warranty.) I did have an issue with my 27i bike and the customer service was excellent in that case. Tough choice between the two! th-cam.com/video/x_efTHf5Qpo/w-d-xo.html

    As an addendum to your comprehensive review, its important for prospective purchasers of the Tread to not be mesmerized by the screen coaching and classes offered, but on the reliability and durability of this machine. My BRAND NEW Tread malfunctioned very shortly after purchase and it was replaced by another. I was informed by reliable sources that my experience was not an isolated one, because there have been other reports of mechanical issues with this product.

      Thanks for sharing!

    • @vinnygorg5006
      @vinnygorg5006 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Another problem with a purchase of this treadmill in the US is that if you experience any mechanical problem(s), it currently takes approximately one month, four weeks, for a technician to come to your home and hopefully repair the issue!
      This prolonged time frame to have a tech come to your home is grossly unacceptable. The company line is that they currently do not have sufficient tech personnel to expedite these appointment times. However, this rationalization is unacceptable. If in fact Peloton is short of tech personnel, than they should not be selling these treadmills. If our credit cards did not have sufficient funds to cover the cost of this treadmill, Peloton would not accept this excuse or that our bank did not have sufficient personnel to process payment. We would not receive the treadmill.
      In short, we have a bilateral business contract with Peloton,and NO purchaser of the Tread should be expected to wait one month for a repair. It's a potentisl deal breaker.

    Thank you for the review. What floor do you have the tread on? Are you concerned that it might damage the floor without a mat? I am waiting for my tread delivery and wondering if I need to use a mat underneath it to protect my hardwood floors.

    • @SteveJulien
      @SteveJulien  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi!
      It’s on an LVT floor. It’s pretty tough and it hasn’t left a mark.
      I would get a mat for a hardwood floor through.
      Just in case!

    Hi Steve! As always, excellent video! I love when you sprinkle in some humor! I’m curious to know: did you get your tread fixed by Peloton or are you getting a brand new one? I have been waiting since March to order mine here in the US, so I’m super excited for Monday when I can finally order mine! I was a little hesitant to order after the recall, but you are absolutely correct in saying that they can’t afford there to be any more issues with the screen coming lose at this point. Take care and keep the always interesting and informative videos coming!

    Steve, I hate to ask but I have mixed emotions on gym equipment. I am 48 had a previous knee injury and I have RA pretty much everywhere. I can walk around for a couple of miles and I can do workouts that don’t include my trunk. I recently bought both tread and bike and they being delivered next week. As I’m excited to try them , I’m also petrified! I’m scared I’m going to fall of this thing and brake something etc. maybe I’m looking too much into it and I’ve emailed my Drs, but I wanted to get your opinion. I know I won’t be doing running or any advanced heavy classes, but I am scared. Any thoughts? Thank you 🙏🏼
