The PGA Tour has 27 sponsors who do $40 billion worth of business in Saudi Arabia on an annual basis but that’s a completely different thing than being owned by the Saudi Arabian government like LIV is or in the case of Aramco which is a Saudi company who is the largest sponsor for the LPGA. Gotta love the false equivalency people use!!! Remember the 40 billion dollars are being spent in Saudi Arabia by sponsors who are NOT Saudi companies but companies who also do business with the rest of the world as well as Saudi Arabia. Selling shaving cream to Saudi citizens or John Deere tractors to farmers in SA is not the same as being a de facto employee of the Saudi Arabian government or the South African. The Ryder Cup is not about the PGA Tour. It should be open to all Americans, regardless of their tour affiliation. Before LIV, I never saw the PGA Tour very worried about who they were getting sponsorship money from, so the notion that they hold the moral high ground is nonsense. Also, the OWGR is broken and needs to be fixed.

I like Brandel I've even bought his book which I can recommend , but his argument makes no sense . All of the large American oil companies do business with Saudi Arabia . Lot's of the large American companies like Facebook and Apple have the Saudi sovereign wealth fund as share holders . The United States government trades with Saudi Arabia promoting American military equipment . The LPGA tour largest sponsor is Armaco the Saudi state owned oil company .Many of the PGA tours sponsors actively trade with Saudi Arabia . I didn't hear Brandel complaining when the PGA tour played tournaments in China and China's human rights record is no better than Saudia Arabia . The simple truth is that the PGA tour are competing with the Liv tour and part of their strategy in competing with Liv is to try to tarnish the reputation of where the money is coming from . I haven't heard Brandel say that he thinks the PGA tour should stop Wells Fargo form being a sponsor when they where embroiled in a scandal .

US foreign policy has indeed been horrifyingly wicked at times in the attempt to mold other countries and the world order with its own values and political system in the name of promoting democracy and human rights. It’s certainly something to be aware of when considering new policies and right from wrong which inevitably leads to a certain moral relativism that I think you are alluding to but the key difference which makes all the difference in the world between let’s say the US and the Saudi government is the fact that the former is a democracy with elected representatives and a free press which over time becomes a self-correcting mechanism but only in a free society where revision is possible and where no intellectual repression and repression of critics exists. Saudi Arabia is an absolute monarchy……..think about that for a second?!?
I'm not sure but I believe that the pros who went to LIV were told that they would not play in the Ryder Cup. DP Tour players were told the same thing and as of now, none of those players are playing for Europe. Now, all of the sudden, PGA Tour LIV players are in the discussion to be eligible to play....were they told that when they left that they couldn't play in the Ryder Cup?
It's a slap in the face man if we include Brooks. What kind of ridiculous comment is that. The PGA players would welcome him to play the Ryder Cup for America.
"would it not hurt the feelings of those who didn't take the money and go to LIV" Emotional appeal. This is all the media is good at. Chamblee is a propagandist, just following a script. ....And more emotional appeals at the end

Saudi Arabia’s government is made up of by bad actors, but that do not mean that fed-ex shouldn’t deliver packages within Saudi Arabia. They shouldn’t be barred from receiving goods or services from the western world due to their atrocious leadership. That’s how the free market and capitalism work in a free world!
@Bobby Thanks for speaking the real truth not a fabrication.
@Bobby 💯 agree!!! I simply can’t fathom people can’t tell the difference between doing business with Saudi Arabia and being an employee of the regime!!! Remember you represent those you work for whether you like it or not. The players who have joined LIV are lending their reputations to a monarchical dictator who murder and repress his enemies and desperately wants to gain leverage and acceptance in the free world.
People forget the "PGA Tour" began when the "tournament Players Division" SPLIT!!! from the PGA of America in 1968. When you know this, how is the PGA Tour as an organization any different to LIV as a breakaway group???? Obviously anyone supporting the PGA Tour such as Chamblee have a vested interest to protect their money making lives. All about money people no matter where you play. By the way LIV in Australia was awesome and as a broadcast made PGA stuff look old and tired.
Because he’ll just argue it’s blood money
Absolutely. Vested interests. How can he come out with this hypocrisy and expect us to agree? It's an insult to everyone's intelligence.

Let’s face it Brad did not finish his thought when he concluded -“they are playing for their country.” But leaves out they are playing for their legacy too - and there is the rub!!! LIV players tarnished legacy by representing a tyrant crown prince will tarnish the Ryder cup as well. So off they go!!!
Sick of Brandel - pga tour should welcome the best players to any of their tournaments but they would rather ban some of the best in the world because they can’t control them
No, that's *not* what it's about.
ALSO, THE PGA TOUR IS IMPLEMENTING NUMEROUS IDEAS THAT PHIL MICKELSON WAS ACCUSING THE PGA TOUR OF NOT DOING BUT AGAIN BRANDEL HAS AMNESIA.

Branded has real chip on shoulder, he needs look where 80% of sport money comes from in US,
Hopefully brooks win will pave the way for the tours to come together for some crossover events
They already have them. The LIV players just have to qualify to play in them, and then they can play. Like they did this week. Simple.
LIV boss should sue Brandell for defaming his name
dont know why Brandel has this much hate, he not on the field. Golf is Golf and because of the PGA, the DP tour lost some of the best to play in the Ryder cup,,,the PGA is holding Golf back, while its trying to make a few changes, which will not hurt golf. But when your a Monopoly, that is how you act.
Oh man I need to comment again!! To Brandle, the Golf channel & the PGA tour.... this is what losing feels like!
Time to admit defeat... LIV has won!!
lol How do you figure that? They're on a non-competitive exhibition tour to help a brutal regime improve its image. LIV is a financially unviable enterprise that few people watch or care about. The Saudis will realize it isn't achieving what they want from it, and it will fold. Unless you are relying on the Saudi's famous love for the sport! lol
So, how is that "winning" exactly?

When the hell did the Ryder Cup become the PGA TOUR RYDER CUP!?
Reasons to let them play: They'll make the team better
Reasons not to let them play: Spite
The Ryder Cup is not about the PGA Tour. It should be open to all Americans, regardless of their tour affiliation. Before LIV, I never saw the PGA Tour very worried about who they were getting sponsorship money from, so the notion that they hold the moral high ground is nonsense. Also, the OWGR is broken and needs to be fixed.
Why on earth is this guy still a lead on this channel
In the distance I can see the PGA Tour going under
It’s 100% true … there’s no other way to say it … it’s a national team!!! Players on the US Men’s soccer team play all over the world.
Why is this even a question?
Exactly, if an American played for Al Nassr, would they not be able to play for the US in the World Cup?
Only of he is an American and born in the USA.
It's time to CANCEL Brandel and FIRE him, stop this hate and jealously.
That decision should be up to the people that run the Ryder cup...brandel...so angry

How much money does branded donate to any charity ? While he Instagrams pics of his wife and him .. just drinking and taking it all in… man of the people
Can somebody shut this Brandel guy up?
Such an interesting debate. Feels like we would want Brooks on our team as Americans.
I like how Brandel always mentions the Saudi's money, yet the PGA gives exemptions to the Dubai tournament sponsored by the same money. If the PGA cared about the money they would not allow exemptions to Dubai. The only person that cares about the Saudi Money is Brandel. Ryder Cup play for America, America wants the best players to compete no matter where they play. Brad much respect.

For all the noise, the arguments mounted by LIV players are little more than whimpering by those who made a clear-eyed choice, the consequences of which they are increasingly unprepared to live with.

Now, all of the sudden, PGA Tour LIV players are in the discussion to be eligible to play....were they told that when they left that they couldn't play in the Ryder Cup?
lmao funny when people all of a sudden start caring where the money comes from. Brandel is a joke and would not turn down 8 figures in his lifetime.
It's a slap in the face man if we include Brooks. What kind of ridiculous comment is that. The PGA players would welcome him to play the Ryder Cup for America.
"would it not hurt the feelings of those who didn't take the money and go to LIV"
Emotional appeal. This is all the media is good at. Chamblee is a propagandist, just following a script.

Im not someone that has watched a ton of golf in my life however. Since liv golf was born and all the drama started ive found it fascinating. I watch the majors religiously and its amazing and fun. Very wwe wcw from the 90s vibes. Ive also watched pga events like the heritage so i have no affinity for either but liv golf coming avout has been great for the game and actually made me watch pga events. So it works both ways. That said Brooksy needs to be on the team and i think if you ask the other eleven players at the time they will want him there. Be good if phil dj and bryson get on there too but if its just Brooksy ill still be happy
I have lost all respect for the PGA Tour and Golf Channel. This is wrong!
Brandel get over it! Saudi does business with all PGATOUR sponsors. Americas second biggest trade partner. Look at our own country bro, building 7 9-11, that wasn't the saudis buddy!
These guys are naive ! The US and the entire western world does business with the Saudi’s . We expect 5-6 pro golfers to be the conscience keeper on this issue on behalf of the world . How long does it take before this ends Chamblee’s career? It should have happened already.
If the Ryder cup is about winning all LIV boys should be eligible.
