    Great video and information from you and your experienced viewers. Looks like you found a nice place to park your truck. Looking forward to seeing the new division you will be part of.

    Just my two cents. For a first truck I would recommend going with a leasing company. For the simple fact that it is easier to get your foot in the door. It doesn't cost much more and right now expect to pay upwards of 15% interest. As far as trucks go? I have a 16 model but it has been very well maintained and still looks good. Oakley has no problem with that but you have to do an inspection every 90 days. With a newer truck it is every 6 months. I myself went to the hopper division. My truck is nearly out of warranty, and I don't want to put a wet kit on it or a blower for a truck I plan on trading in in the next six months. Also to be sure it is the right fit for me. If you are unwilling to get dirty this is not a place for you! You don't swing doors. It is dusty and dirty. You are going to drive off the beaten path and load and unload out in the middle of nowhere! Hope you are not afraid of big foot! If you are driven you will make money. It is all about how you wish to run. You can be home every weekend if you want but I will stay out 3-4 weeks at a time. I have no problem running recap until I get home to take some time off. If you are clean cut, dependable and wish to make a good living? Get hold of Jimmy and let him get you in touch with a recruiter.

    You called it, you can go down and sign and drive a new pickup truck home.
    Commercial is different, they are looking for business credit which most of us starting out doesn't have.

    I ran regional pneumatic food grade tanks for several years. It will be fun to see your transition. I’ve been on a 15 year break from trucking for a law enforcement career. Big mistake.

    heres a dumb question, did you have to purchase your trucc spec'd out for the end dump business or oakley put on the hydraulics and stuff for you

    • @jimmysroadlyfe
      @jimmysroadlyfe  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a great question, no you don't have to buy it installed prior to leasing on (but you can if you want). Bruce Oakley installs any needed equipment when you are in orientation; if you choose this option you pay for the wet kit or blower over time out of your settlements until it is paid off. Happy New Year!

    Hello Sr.
    I have watchin your videos, i think you Sr. Make very informative honest videos. Im am interested in becoming an Oakley Transportation company driver because i don't own a truck, I would like to own one. My question is would you recommend me to Mary Lee i think she is in charge of Arkansas. I've been a company driver for Sysco foods for almost 8 years now making local deliveries in Oregon, Washington and now Arkansas. I have all my endorsements including my twic card and I want to move on with a great company like Oakley. Would you recommend me? I have filled out an application but i didn't put anybody as reference and so I haven gotten a call.

    • @jimmysroadlyfe
      @jimmysroadlyfe  ปีที่แล้ว

      I retired in May of 2014. I had a split of active duty and reserve time. Wouldn't trade it for anything but I also was glad to retire. Deployments were many and taking a toll. I was at Camp Pendleton, Camp Lejeune and Camp Foster Okinawa on active duty. Deployments were all over the Middle East.

    Sorry to inform you the only way an LLC is going to protect you is if you had a driver driving your truck. Let’s say you get in a serious accident, you are the driver in the truck, an LLC will not protect your personal assets. A good attorney will bleed you dry. Thinking an LLC will protect your business/ personal assets is patently false.

    • @jimmysroadlyfe
      @jimmysroadlyfe  ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting. I'm not an attorney and that is clearly expressed in the video so if heaven forbid I'm required to hire one some day they will test this. Thanks Jason for the insight and your legal expertise. Happy New Year!

    • @austinc3669
      @austinc3669 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Source? Of course an attorney will bleed you dry but an llc will protect your personal from being touched by the other party in a lawsuit.

    • @DrivingWithDon
      @DrivingWithDon ปีที่แล้ว

      @@austinc3669 that's a huge myth. All the other attorney has to do is prove you acted negligently and your LLC protection goes out the window. LLC does not protect you from negligent actions. You know how easy it will be for another attorney to prove negligence? About as long as it took me to type this.
