yuri is one of the two tritagonists (alongside natsuki), as well as the secondary antagonist of the visual novel doki doki literature club!, one of the five members of the literature club, later replacing sayori as the vice-president in act 2 after she was deleted by monika in act 1.yuri joined the literature club out of her interest in fantasy and psychological horror novels. as of act 2, she became the game's secondary antagonist, although she is not really a villain, just a victim. yuri and natsuki are always playing together and sometimes yuri can abuse natsuki on some occasions. however, yuri thinks that natsuki is perfect and that she's a good friend. doki doki literature club! (ddlc) is a 2017 freeware visual novel developed by american independent game studio team salvato for linux, macos, and windows. the game was initially distributed through itch.io, and later became available on steam. the story is told from the perspective of a high school student who reluctantly joins the school's literature club on the insistence of his childhood best friend, and is given the option to romantically pursue three of its four female members. doki doki literature club! features a non-traditional plot structure with multiple endings and unlockable cutscenes with each of the main characters. although the game initially appears to be a lighthearted dating simulator, it is in fact a metafictional psychological horror game that extensively breaks the fourth wall.
mikan tsumiki is a character featured in danganronpa 2: goodbye despair. she has the title of ultimate nurse (super high school level health committee member). after catching despair disease in chapter 3 and regaining her memory, she set up a plan to murder ibuki mioda, who also contracted despair disease, but ended up murdering both ibuki and hiyoko saionji after the latter witnessed her attempt to murder ibuki. she had murdered for “the sake of her beloved”. but in reality, mikan, including ibuki and hiyoko, are still alive. danganronpa 2: goodbye despair is a 2012 visual novel developed by spike chunsoft. it is the second game in the danganronpa franchise following danganronpa: trigger happy havoc (2010). it was first released in japan for playstation portable in july 2012, and a port for playstation vita was released in japan in october 2013.development of the game started as kazutaka kodaka was writing the light novel prequel danganronpa zero and added hints about a sequel to the novel following their approval. kodaka aimed to develop a unique plot to give players more mysterious elements in a group of islands, inspired by the television series lost. the protagonist hajime hinata is part of a group of high-school students who are trapped on a tropical island by their high school's headmaster monokuma, a sentient stuffed bear, along with monomi, a sentient stuffed rabbit. similar to the first game, to leave the island, students must kill one of their peers and not be caught in the subsequent investigation and trial. - เกม

One detail I really like about this is that Natsuki never really *gets* a turn, because everyone keeps aggressively interrupting her, then telling her that she’s the one being unreasonable- the latter section being a manipulation tactic common in abusive relationships.
Late Act 2 Natsuki is def where I was writing her character and this is for sure how I’d describe her dynamic
I really appreciate the attention to detail on that part- it feels like you made an active effort to keep everyones contributions feeling canonically accurate to their personalities and character arcs, and it makes this a very memorable and solid fansong
(It's also amusing to think that this is one of the rare pieces of Mikan fan-content that is actually accurate to her character lmao, not leaning too much into psycho murder yandere while not leaning too much into the soft anxious girl either, and having there be hints of each of her demeanors in the opposite one, like how while Mikan isn't consciously trying to offend Yuri at first, her remarks are delivered in a very passive aggressive manner, and while she's losing herself she maintains that anxiety in the form of a mental breakdown before becoming malicious and violent. Pretty good battle. Easily one of the most uniquely formatted battles ever, it gets across all their personalities well, and a couple weird lines are about it for negatives. Just overall pretty dang good. I cannot stress how funny it is that Bad Idea Rap Battles is up there with Snakebite Rap Battles as most consistently good rap battle series.

Bad idea? This was a GREAT idea! These two are unironically very similar to each other (Although Mikan is definitely a thousand times more pitiful since outside of Yuri's crippling anxiety, there's no evidence of her being bullied and actually suffering whereas Mikan was tormented her whole life) by being timid purple-haired cuties who deserve protection. I also love the intrusion from Natsuki and Hiyoko. (Though this one's a no brainer, Natsuki is a billion times better)
Anyone whose actually played Danganronpa 2 knows Mikan isn't in need of any protection.

The first time Hiyoko has actually good insults. Jokes aside, I really like this battle. I did NOT expect you to top Schmitty vs Komaru so quickly. Unique format, and the disses hit hard. The intensity rising is done well, and this is the first rap battle that I can say gave me chills, with that ending.

Wow... I like the way both original opponents were pushed to the edge of their sanity by their respective "teammates". Like damn. The snowball effect of Natsuki entering the battle leading to Yuri being spoken over and getting pissed about it, leading to Hiyoko taking the piss on everyone leading to Mikan being part of a conflict and getting belittled leading to her getting more and more pissed leading to more Natsuki intervention... and on and on and on. This repeating cycle leading to the mental breaks is far from a bad idea, its unique AND good. Very clever and very well done.
Picking a winner here really feels anticlimatic, imo.

This rap battle is a dream come true for me! I love Yuri and Mikan from how they both share a similar theme of “Looks can be deceiving” as both of them seem shy in their games and then they reach a certain “breaking point” so I love how Yuri and Mikan were shown here! Also I don’t know if anyone else noticed this but I liked the detail of how the music in the background started to sound more higher pitched and faster because it reminded me of the Act 2 music beginning to change in pace during Natsuki’s and Yuri’s argument and then ontop of that the fact there was Mikan and Sionji vs Yuri and Natsuki I liked the detail of how everyone was arguing like how the class trials work in Daganronpa I’m properly overanalysing this but I just thought to point out those little details that reference their individual games! But overall I loved this✨✨

This was so unexpectedly amazing, hands down one of the BEST non-two way rap battle ive seen
MIKAN KILLED IT MY GOD. And Yuri! She also killed Yuri. I loved how it was just escalating and escalating the whole time! Poor Natsuki was ganged up upon, too, i felt quite bad for her, but at the same time i was grinning the whole way through. All of them are so messy! I loved how it felt like a real fight that got out of hand. I admit that going in I wanted Mikan to win and you know what? I totally think she did, go Mikan!!!
Edit: Also, was that opening sandcastle line a Danganronpa Zero reference? I found that really neat.
The sandcastle line is actually a DDLC reference to one of Yuri’s poems, but if it doubles as a DR Zero reference then pretend I meant it 🤫

For context, and spoilers for DR0, but Yasuke Matuda tells a story about his childhood friend, Ryouko Otonashi, who is later revealed to be Junko Enoshima, about how she built a sandcastle that was really elaborate, but just before it was completed, someone knocked it down just before it's peak. Yasuke searches for a culprit for days, only for Junko to later reveal to him that she's the one who knocked it down. It serves as a metaphor for the whole series, and Junko Enoshima's character itself. To cause herself despair, she destroys something right before it is completed, showing how self destructive her character is - she does the same thing to Yasuke and herself; at the end of the novel, she kills Yasuke to cause herself and him despair, and in her very first appearance in DR1 is an example of her doing it to herself. If she lived, the Tragedy would have continued much longer, but just before the peak of the Tragedy's completion, she knocks it down and kills herself, leaving it unfulfilled. She builds people up, just to knock them down, too. So that line about how sandcastles "always end the same" is really apt.

I think the one thing most people, whether they like Mikan or not, can agree on, is that Mikan's character was butchered badly in Chapter 3 of DR2.

This was so cool! The way it fits the characters(with Mikan trying hard not to offend her opponent and was actually worried, Yuri slowly loosing her mind, Natsuki with her attitude and hiyoko being herself!) I also like how their lines also fit them as well. This was great!:D

Half way through I was just like “woah what am I watching hiyoko and natsuki are here too??” But if you ask who won I have to say it was Hiyoko, she got straight to the point and got mostly everything right. Yuri was just telling people to shut up and Mikan was good but not nearly as good as Yuri.
You know... I didn't think about clicking on this- but DAAAAMN am I glad I did- The whole allies getting rapped on by the one's they were supporting as they both slowly went insane! Brilliant!
Also Natuski was just trying to be a friend, but Hiyoko was being Hiyoko.

I loved everything about this rap battle! It felt great knowing both characters and being able to understand all what they are talking about and I wasn't expecting Natsuki and Hiyoko to join in but I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! my favorite part about the battle has to be the way the three of them saw the body and the body discovery announcement played like that was absolutely perfect! I also liked how Yuri get's more and more angry and Mikan as well, how Hiyoko glitched and how Hiyoko was throwing shade at everyone like that flow though!
Hiyoko was probably the best but I love how the reality of the rap battle was torn apart since all girls were in glitching virtual realities.
