I believe this Ed Sheeran song was played at the end of the movie, during the credits.

Yes, it was in the credits. I usually stay for credits unless I'm with someone else & they want to leave. The fact it was by Ed Sheeran & I was with my sister who loves his music like I do, we stayed to hear it. Still love the original version, but Geoff's Cover was definitely interesting (in a good way).

Thank you Geoff for getting the dwarfs back together again. You said that you were lucky that they just happen to be available. Thank you Kathy for saving the costumes and Rick Underwood for saving all the hair pieces.

ROFL ROFL ROFL!!! You're the second reactor this week who has stopped to comment on Geoff's "higher range" moments before he does what is ACTUALLY his higher HIGHER range! I can't lie, it makes me gleeful! No other word for it! 🤣🤣🤣And that's why I think this video shows off his range best.

This song was written and performed by Ed Sheeran for the 2nd movie and it was played during the credits. I agree with you on that it doesn't feel like a song from the Hobbit/LOTR stories. When I first heard it after the movie I was like "meh, not the best fit to the story". However Geoff's version definitely improved the song (imo), it has a more somber feeling and it sounds more like a song that the dwarves could be singing before they walk to their doom, facing the dragon..

This is ONE of my go-to Geoff's songs... Should I call a favourite though, it would likely be one pretty much nobody names when it comes to "What is your favourite Geoff's song?", which is "Till then". It somehow touches a whole lot of deep strings in my own heart and soul. ❤
As for this one... Yep, it doesn't feel like it belongs to the MOVIES. But yes, to me it sounds like it belongs to the BOOK, and it portraits the ominous feeling of the imminent battle against the raging dragon, Smaug, so much better than the original, Ed Sheeran version... Here I can feel all the progression and evolution of the feelings, from the ominous, grieving contemplation of the imminent death and destruction to picking up strength and resolution from facing it with friends, to the final urge to the battle... and the underlying "prayer" to Durin, whom the song is directed IMHO. It neve sounded to me as "...And I hope that you'LL remember me", just "And I hope that you remember me [NOW}", as in "look at me (meaning "us" in this case), Father (Durin is the Father of the Dwarves), and remember who we are and why we are here and do this". Again, it somehow touches deep strings in my heart and soul. 🙂
Anyway... Loved your reactions, I don't know whether the is going to be all for Geoff's week, but it's been a pleasant ride. 🙂
Take care, and see you next time.

I'm a big Fantasy Geek, so I actually LOVED "The Hobbit!" It has some of my favorite actors in it, and it's just gorgeous, the scenery, the music, the costumes, the eagles! And the frame rate made it really exciting, although it did take a few seconds to get used to it. Although upon reflection, I've never gone out of my way to watch it again. Hmmm. Well, it's not "The Crow," (::grinds teeth to avoid talking about the reboot::) but yeah, I enjoyed seeing The Hobbit in theaters. I'm not sure I'd like it as much on small screens though. But it was really a full on experience in the theater I saw it in.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I firmly believe Geoff has inspired more unique facial expressions than anyone else on this planet! I'm a little bummed you didn't get to do "Folsom Prison Blues," but hey, more treasures to be discovered, right?

This is probably my favourite Geoff song, but it is so hard to pick as they are all so good. Glad you are feeling better, and a good bit of Geoff makes everything brighter no matter what.

My favorite is Unshaken with Rains of Castemere coming in close second and this close third. Fourth is Ghost Riders In The Sky. Fifth is Jack's Lament.
I really should say Ain't No Sunshine is my favorite cause that was my introduction to Geoff 2 years ago. But instead it moved to the sixth spot.

@@ronsbrat525 Its so difficult isn't it... I genuinely feels like the newest Geoff video automatically takes number one spot, at least for a while

Very true. I rate the videos on a couple of factors. We all know the first reason.
When I lay down to sleep or just relax I love to listen to Geoff or Voiceplay. Mostly Geoff. So the second factor would be how much it can lullaby me. Rains of Castemere was usually my go to for that because his voice in it is so soothing and I can listen to it for hours on repeat. Now it's the same with Unshaken. So I switch between the two.
I have sleep headphones just for that reason. And I find that they help clear and relax my mind and I'm not restless. Like when I don't listen to the videos.

This is my favorite for all four getting to sing, Till Then is my favorite for romance, Way Down for fun, Wicked Game for the growly sound but Misty Mountains Cold is still my overall favorite. Trust in Me might bump it if he makes it full length.

This was not heard during the movie but played over the credits and was written and performed by Ed Sheeran. Not Tolkien. Try his Shenandoah to hear more of his higher range. I regard it as his most beautiful video, visually.

I think Geoff more than did justice to this song -- but I agree that the song itself really did not fit with the movies.

In reality, the 4 characters Geoff is playing give a great example of different types of singing: vocal-fry, chest voice, head voice, and falsetto. Geoff on the far right is giving us examples of his chest-fry and chest voice, Geoff 2nd from the right is giving us upper chest voice with some flips into head voice, Geoff 2nd from the left is giving us examples of upper head voice with flips into falsetto. Geoff on the far left, however, is showing us his tessitura. Tessitura is our range, where we sing most comfortably, without even thinking about it. In that part of his range, though, he can still go deeper than a traditional bass. Also, for most people, all these different parts would only span around 2 octaves... Geoff does it over 5 octaves. Probably about 3.5 octaves here, but you get the point.

The problem with the Hobbit is they tried to stick in the things they cut from the Lord of the Rings into the story.

After this was over I felt guilty for enjoying it so much, because the subject was so dark and sad. This song was only heard during the credits of the second movie, none of which I've seen.

"When Geoff WAS in Voiceplay?" Get a grip dude, he is STILL in Voiceplay. Stop spreading falsehoods.
