A tourney in this case is when (usually) 16 characters from different media are put together in a tournament bracket inspired by the King For A Day tournament that was ran by Silvagunner, the characters are given sources that specify which music they can use. (For example, Xenophanes can use Sonic music, songs relating to the dead, FNF music, ETC ETC.) Once these brackets get to Winners Round 2 at least, bosses are introduced. These are characters meant to face both characters competing in that round. After the boss is defeated the match goes on as normal. These tournaments also almost always have a losers bracket where the characters usually get another source, or have one of their sources be updated. After all but the final 2 are left. There might be a final boss to face for some drama. After the boss is defeated, the grand finals go on as normal. After this the winner is decided and there might even be a sequel tourney. Currently we're in Season 2.5 of this tourney where its not really a tourney to be specific. It will just be a bunch of solo tracks and maybe a dual track or two. Dual tracks are when two characters face each other, but it's not a match. There aren't any results. And they're just for filler. Thats all I really think there is to say, so just run off into the world of TH-cam (and Soundcloud. Most tourneys happen to run there.) and root for the character that has the sources you like the most!
