    Great "back to the basics" vid.... For anyone who's new to lockpicking, LEARN THIS SKILL... As a locksmith of almost 16 years now, THIS is my first, and often only, attack for a residential unlock in 80% of situations (unless I'm just bypassing)... Even if you can't get a full unlock, you'll usually set a few pins and then you can go back and single pin pick the remaining ones.
    Try it with a few different picks, short, medium, and long hooks, as well as different sizes of half diamonds, on the more common keyways KW1, SC1, M1, etc... Find what works for YOU with each keyway.... Example, Schlage I typically use a short hook, Kwikset I tend to use a medium hook, small Masterlocks like the M1 keyway I use a small half diamond... but again, that's because that's what works for ME with MY style on each keyway... your results may be very different... and of course if I start to feel that it's not working because of the bitting, I'll swap out picks.
    And for new pickers, remember, tools can be heavy and expensive, experience weighs nothing and costs only the time you've invested in it... and if you're considering becoming a locksmith, reducing cost and weight get REAL important, REAL quick. This allows you to get a LOT of US residential and even commercial locks open in minimal time with just a few picks and a couple of tension tools. I know locksmiths who've been doing it 30 years longer than I have who are AMAZING lockpickers, and who only carry three HPC brand picks and a few tension wrenches.... (and for the record, HPC picks SUCK compared to what's available now)

    I hope you know how much people miss you, and truly appreciate the knowledge you have shared with the community. I have been picking for a few years now off, and on.. This video really helped me tho. Somehow I guess I was just tensioning a bit to hard.. After I kinda let up WAY more pins got set, and I could go in and clean them up to get the open. I REALLY doubt you will ever read this tho, but I truly want to thank you for all you have shared. Even like in this example, just being easy with tension. It has made a huge difference for me. My success rate in many locks has definitely went up, as well as my time to open has went down.

    • @meowbombs
      @meowbombs 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hes not hacked. He made a statement a few days ago that the web host basically shut the site down and took his money.
      This ontop of taking care of a close friend's children, (who is very sick from covid) he doesn't have the time to make videos and is unsure if he will be returning. Hes releasing these videos to TH-cam to one probably archive them and two provided some form of content
