I could watch this forever and still get teary-eyed by how she asks him. It's the upward inflection of her voice at the end. Even though he agrees he wants to spend forever with her too, she doesn't assume it automatically means he wants to marry, so her question carries an adorable authenticity and curiosity with it.
@Shaun The Good Doctor I am agree with moving forward....but for me is sad in some way for Claire's leaving!!! For me, their goodbyes are lovely and so touching, but also, heartbreaking and sad....thats just my opinion but I respect other opinions about it
My cousin is almost 13, he's beautiful, and intelligent, and deep, and sweet, and alarmingly charming, and he's also autistic. Since the moment he started speaking at 4 years old I started telling him I loved him every single time I saw him and then every single time we speak on the phone or text or video chat. He's one foot into being a teenager now and he's in a much more withdrawn place then he was until now, but my point is that every time I tell him I love him (except for one rare moment when he actually said it back) he hangs up the phone without saying a word and it never fails to make me laugh because he loves me too, and in his mind and by his reason it's pointless to say it back because he knows he loves me and if he knows I know. And I do. So that's why this series is so good. Those tiny nuances of Lea asking Shaun to marry her and Shaun not even being moved by it at first. And not because he's autistic and autistic people are withdrawn and emotionless but because it's so natural for him in his mind that it doesn't register as a big deal. Of course I'll marry you. I love you. It's that simple. And it's heartbreakingly beautiful. Thank you so much for this, can't wait till November comes.

Autistic people do feel emotions, they just don't always understand them, know how to show or regulate them. My son is also autistic and hangs up the phone when he has said what he needed to say, not waiting for any reply or allowing anyone to finish their sentence. They're adorable in that regard.
