"A or H is a draw"
That's assuming that both me and my opponent know what we're doing. We don't.
This man has watched some "guess the ELO" episodes. Or been featured in some.
AH
my opponent knows what* he's doing and I don't 😔
It's true. Levy doesn't know about the bulldozer approach where your King bumrushes the enemy king and he runs away in terror.
Yeah I was hoping he showed how to defend against the A and H pawn.
Instructions unclear, my opponent got a queen
haha funny
That's not supposed to happen.

My guy, how does one fumble this badly?
Levy is the type of guy to name his child "Bishop"
"Good morning bishop!"
I know someone named that
Better the ROOOOOOOK
A child called Bishop would enjoy playing with other children.

I’m loving these 30 second chess lessons. I know about Opposition but explaining it by saying “Don’t push while the king is looking at the pawn” is a really nifty shorthand for remembering the technique
So king is type of possessive boyfriend that doesn't want anyone looking at his girlfriend
@@aloevi4850 queen is wife, pawn is girlfriend, just waiting to become the next queen after the old queen died usually

Obi Wan dies . The end .
I love how cleanly Levi describes what could be complicated tactics
But this isn't complicated.
@@Najdorf_ what "could" be. There are far more complicated tactics than this, but for a beginner, any idea that looks 2-3 moves ahead is complicated.
I have a suspicion you're like botting..
But hey, I agree with the context of your comment
@@Najdorf_ it is for me as i watched the original whole video before and I didn't understand a thing
@@Najdorf_ But this isn’t complicated 🤓
Basically king takes control of three squares in front of pawn before making pawn move....
A King personally escorting his pawn to protect them from the opposing King and promote them into a Queen would be such a good climax to a show
King married to a poor girl soldier after his wife died💀
That's your usual love triangle story.

I really like these shorts. To the point.

Levy: "A pawn or H pawn is a draw"
Me, a 800 pleb: "you overestimated my power"
You can't lose even on time if the opponent has nothing except his king, if be takes your pawn it's going to be a draw too instead of stalemate
@@blueslime5855 But you can lose if your opponent has the pawn and you let it through.
@@Gorm169 ah yeah that, idk why I assumed he was the one who had the pawn

No, Anakin, no, NO!
Fun fact: For advanced position; Opposition can also apply diagonally, sideways, and long distance (like king oppose king 3 squares away)

That’s actually really helpful lol more of those please !
dude we need a whole tutorial playlist composed of shorts like that, perfect form with basic tips/rules

these videos are honestly so helpful, especially if you’re just trying to pick up chess slowly and have no one to tell you these kinds of “rules”
Imagine if this was an actual battle and the white king and pawn just rush to stab the black king
Dude
rushing is kinda draw here ngl
Plot twist: A player stalemates it
This is actually a genuinely helpful video. I like it!
This Levy guy is actually teaching me so much. It isn’t too much at once. Concepts I fully understand and can replicate.
These snipits are gold.
Best video on this in relation to time spent
You’re a great teacher levy, I just touched 600 solely bc of your videos
Well done
Yooo, that's great, keep it up!
do puzzles every day
Only 600?😂😂
My rating is 10/10!
It literally is 10😭😭..
What if king just stays back and doesnt move left or right
This is gonna get me another 50 elo alone

Would be useful to teach triangle next! Or what is it..

I honestly am loving these short lessons
Legend says the pawn is still moving
“A or H is a draw”
The pawns in A and H:”AH”
Levy, thank you!!! Extremely helpful.
Love these short tutorials

Stop giving my opponents tutorials
We can actually call this "mirroring oponnent's moves"

thx, i play now and again and genuinely struggled with this.
What if the king moves down instead of up?
You can actually push the pawn up twice in a row when black backed up, your king would be defending him from the diagonal. This gets you to the end 2 moves quicker, since your king only moves once up now and then when you queen yourself, the black king still has to backup into the corner since your white king has the diagonal coverage. But I get the point :p
Clear and to the point! I'll never forget this.
He should've said the one
"I have no knowledge of any of this! This is so... Bizzare!"
The way the king blinked at the pawn like "I'm watching you"
Great lesson. I will do this in my games.
Aw, the King is protecting the Pawn from the enemy😊
The blinking eyes got me laughing
Because of this lesson now i know my endgames for the intramurals
That was actually really useful
I will watch and like every end game shorts you make
The pawn is shy so the king has to stand infront 😂
Please we need so much more 30 seconds tool like those ♥️
Hey I got your book how to win at chess it’s so good my win rate went from 57% to 94%
Nice teaching

Instructions unclear, the bishop on ED500 killed my queen.
As long as the pawn is one next to the king it can't die
That was a really good explanation
This was actually really helpful
They taught me this when I was 8 now I'm 13 and I'm tier 2 chess player
This was useful advice I use this in actual chess games against my friends
Another reason why you need to keep your queen protected too
Honestly I love the energy in this video I don’t even know why it’s so chill anyway I subscribed thanks for the tip
Very realistic as d pawn hasn’t moved
One of the only best video from levy. Straight to point.
Pov: someone looks at my pawn
Me: OPOSITION!!!
I love you, your content and your account, thank you so much for everything, hug from Portugal ❤
Ok I've missed so many puzzles for not knowing this. Thanks!
bold of you to assume i can get this far into a game without throwing
i dont know why i love the king blinking so much
I just noticed, THAT IS THE CENTER PAWN
This is so easy first do you have to put the palm on the other team and then you have to choose queen because there’s queen Bishop rock at night that means you get a free queen if you already have a queen and if you get one more queen you have two more queens I’m good at chess also my class teacher told me about this in chess
👇
I badly need this endgame lesson thank you
this was insanely useful
Levy is such a great instructor. He entertains while teaching. We all had that one teach in high school lol
The way i do is faster, my king just stand close to the pawn all moment and never goes in front of it
I don’t think I would be able to win with just one queen and one king
Hi
Really ?
I love how the king’s eyes 👀 blink❤️ great lesson👍
Draw😊
Opposition? More like, winning the position!😂
A and H wins if your king makes contact. King can stand behind the pawn and the king must avoid checks
This is a Forty second chess lesson.I demand my money back.
AND HE SACRIFICES THE ROOOOOOOOK
What do you do if the king moves back? Do you push?
Move your king forward. If their king keeps retreating, chase it to the edge of the board.
Be careful when pushing your pawn. If it ends up anywhere further forward than one rank behind your king, and your opponent's king can immediately take the opposition, it's usually a draw. Your king generally needs to be a good distance ahead of your pawn.
Having a or h pawn only if the opponent reach to control key squares .
😂 simplest opposition lesson
I taught scholastic chess for years. I like the wording and illustration to enhance learning. Opposition and out-flanking, in this position, is critical to winning and not losing 1/2 point.
Critical error : opponent's king....... WENT UP
