so my theory for this is that jackson and his wife (i think she’s his wife because red is usually symbolic of marriage in asian societies and she’s wearing a red dress) were both killed in a battle (jackson being a general or smth) but weren’t buried together, so his loyal soldiers raise him from the grave so they can find her. they eventually find her and jackson raises her with the hand movements (you can SEE the change in his emotions/face when she comes up) and after they recognize each other (the dancing) jackson hugs her and does the hand movements again, lowering them back down underground (to go to the afterlife together and to be peaceful in rest). behind them is a singular grave under the tree with all of the leaves around them, and the smoke comes back while the lights slowly dim! all in all, it’s super beautiful and artistic, jackson killed it!

So they died for their sin but well, love conquers all even death. Jackson rose up from his grave thanks to his soldiers and he went on to do the same for his queen. The queen rose up from her grave and finally taking off her royal robe to be with Jackson in an eternal slumber.
So basically Jackson came back to life just to be with his dead girlfriend that he and his men resurrected (the hand movement). At least that's what I think it means haha

He has been in "The Greatest Showman", "Step-Up 3", and has created some well shot & directed dance videos of himself. Definitely go check him out. As for the dancers who did the choreography of this music video, they are called "The Kinjaz" (Kin-juz, like ninjas), and they also did the choreography of other Jackson Wang's song "Titanic", which you really should react to the music video. They're a Urban Dance crew from LA, and they have been a crew since 2010, and they do "Urban Dance", it's a combination of mostly Hip-Hop (the choreography version), with other Street Dance styles, as well as Contemporary, Jazz etc. They're hugely influenced & inspired by their Asian culture & heritage. They're also basically dancing nerds, that love anime (they're mostly/obviously are influenced from "Naruto"), and they were formerly known as the ANBU Black Ops, before changing their name to The Kinjaz (which previously stands for "Brotherhood of Ninjas", now stands for "The Family of Ninjas", Kinjaz). Also, that hand pose with the 2 right fingers up with the left flat palm underneath is their main crew's hand sign. Speaking of members, majority of the main choreographers are we'll known veterans & legends of the Street & Urban Dance community & industry, and The Kinjaz currently have over 36 official members in the crew. It’s a little bit based on the Chinese Romeo and Juliet, like not completely but it somewhat is and I’m totally obsessed with this storyline.
You should watch Street Dance of China 3. Jackson is one of the captains there, along with Wang Yibo, Wallace Chung and Lay! The parts are pretty long, but there are plenty of short videos with their dance battles! Amazing!

Jackson is probably a king or emperor that was killed in a battle along with his wife, they were burried separately, soldiers of his wake him from the dead through a ritual to help him find his wife, he wakes her from the dead as well, they reunite, and then go back to the dead but now together in one grave, probably entering afterlife together. More than being unsure I feel like his expression when seeing her shows his love and how much he has been longing for her and feeling in pain since they've been separated. I love this song so much and the concept too, Jackson can practically do everything but I really enjoy it when he proudly showcases his culture in his art. Also the music video plot was really romantic and it was filmed so well and cinematic, I'm absolutely in love. Now I kind of want to see him in a historic drama. Anyways I loved your reaction, can't wait for his next album to come out which he said will come some time this year.
I saw another comment that said that the woman's grave being next to a big beautiful tree and Jackson's being in the woods signify difference in class, with the woman being a princess or queen or noble of some kind and Jackson being a poor man who managed to become a respected war general. So that conflicts with Jackson being a king/emperor.

The hand gestures are from Taoism(a philosophical or religious tradition of Chinese), instead of Buddhism, which is a magic gesture that can make corpse moving by themselves. In this MV, Jackson the General and the girl are both dead. And the General wants to stay together with his lover even after death, so the soldiers wake up the General with the magic Taoism gesture, help him get out the grave , walk to the grave of his lover, get her out the grave(it seems the four loyal soldiers sacrifice themselves to help the General). The General asks her if she still loves him, apparently she does, at last they are buried together. SAD LOVE STORY. In China, there is an old saying "sleep in one bed when alive, and buried together after death", which is a symbol of true love.
So My Theory: (it's like a drama)
Jackson and the women loved each other when they were alive, but they could never be together. He had to got join the army b/c of the war and the girl had an arranged marriage that she couldn't get out of. The marriage was so unbearable that she decided to kill herself or her husband murdered her, while Jackson was still fighting in the war; hence the opening lyric, "Turn over the hour glass

Jackson later hears about how his lover has died and asks his friends to bury him with her as his last dying wish.
Since they couldn't be together while they were alive, they will finally unite in death.

This is the storyline:
Jackson was a warrior who fell in love with that girl but apparently the prince also fell in love with her. So because of that, the prince had Jackson killed. (That’s why Jackson’s grave is in this dark, creepy forest because he “didn’t deserve more”) Jackson waited in his grave for many years and when the time came, the four men came to summon him back to life. He then came back to life after they summoned him and together they went to her grave. (her grave is under this big gorgeous tree and that’s because she was the prince’s lover) Jackson needed the mens’ energy to summon her back, so they sacrificed themselves for Jackson and his mission to summon her back to life.
Because Jackson couldn’t be with his lover while he actually was alive, he at least wanted to be buried with her and spend death by her side and that’s why he buried himself wither at the end.
It’s a little bit based on the Chinese Romeo and Juliet, like not completely but it somewhat is and I’m totally obsessed with this storyline.
You should watch Street Dance of China 3. Jackson is one of the captains there, along with Wang Yibo, Wallace Chung and Lay! The parts are pretty long, but there are plenty of short videos with their dance battles! Amazing!

So basically he has died in war and his loyal soldiers who died alongside him help him and resurrect him. They then move to the woods where they are searching for the grave of his lover who also died. They were buried separately. They find her grave by the beautiful tree. When they find it his soldiers go back to the afterlife (which you see when they cross their arms and fall backwards) because they've done their part now Jackson just has to resurrect her so he can then take her with him to the afterlife so they can be happy together even in death.
