    I think BTS and Big Hit are going to attempt to do something that has never been done before - to keep BTS on top of their game, musically, creatively, and financially beyond BTS in its current form.
    BTS aren’t going to stay young forever. Eventually, they will grow old, get married or not get married,
    The nature of idols in Korea and boybands in the west has a short lifeline. I think Big Hit and BTS themselves are very aware of this. Instead of fighting it, they are working around it to ensure BTS won’t just rely on their legacy as BTS once they retire but to continue creating and evolving their art.
    Just to clarify, I have no connection, directly or remotely, to Big Hit or anyone in BTS. I am just reverse engineering it, just taking some of my experience in business planning, brand building and marketing.
    I could very well be wrong or partly wrong. But here is what I think the business strategy is of BTS and Big Hit.

    Narrative
    People follow stories, you may be attractive to visuals first but what makes us stick to something is a story.
    Products
    Every brand has a story. Before brands are launched to the market, the brand personality is developed. You are loyal to Nike because they are the shoes for those who aren’t professional athletes, they are for those who try. Coke for families. Apple they break the norms.
    Observe Chanel’s commercials, they are very cinematic. Nike’s failure commercial. Apple’s rebellion commercial.
    Commercials are like that, you always tell a story, TikTok has a hard time penetrating the mainstream because they offer moments, which are good but it has not longevity
    Music and Music Videos
    It’s the same for music and music videos
    Mv with stories - thriller, lemonade,
    Beatles are storytellers, their songs tell stories Hey Jude, Blackbird, Taxman, Sgt. Peppers, etc
    Raps are stories,

    I am a silver army of less than 2 years. I'm really enjoying my BTS journey even though I don't know any other army. I'm still learning & I just recently stumbled upon your channel. I'm working my way through your BTS playlist. Although I've loved all your videos I've watched so far, I just had to comment on this one in particular (even though I'm about a year late). Your insights great & so thoughtful! I was particularly struck when you mentioned the experience that the members were getting through their participation in Run BTS. I can't help but think (one year after your video post) about how Yoongi starting Suchwita & is doing such an excellent job hosting his own talk show! Hybe's business acumen & BTS's creativity, talent & hard work is a match made in heaven!

      hi there! yes, I think it is really playing to the advantage of the boys to get some experience in every aspect of the business. I do think they have some investments already and knowing how design, production, manufacturing and marketing work make them better businessmen and investors.

    I agree with your detailed and insightful analysis. The opportunities and teachings for BTS members in the music arena are many and extremely positive for them, but as you said BigHit and Hybe have definitely raised the bar regarding continued relevance... And as an ARMY, I am so happy for them to be given these opportunities and to shine while doing so. Paving the way for their continued growth in the industry and in new endeavours.

    Wow, what a great analysis on BTS now, and it's future relevance! As a member of their fandom, ARMY, I want them to be here forever. Even though that's not totally realistic, the steps they are taking can definitely keep our Beautiful Bangtan Boys top of mind for a long time! I Borahae BTS!💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

    Very interesting insight. I feel that BTS and HYBE are breaking away from the Korean music management model and inventing a new one. One thing I do admire about Bang PD is how he has fashioned a company that helps actually develop the talent, not just train and sell it with an expiry date.
    As for BTS, they are developing more like Western legacy acts (Metallica, Rolling Stones) that go on way past their "popular" era and continue to tour, merchandize and produce.

    Thank you for your insights and analysis! I agree, I think the 7 fates chako will cement BTS's presence in culture for years to come (even generations) since the story has heavy ties with korean tales and folklore. Also, the move with individual instagrams and each of them designing their own product, will further accentuate each of their personalities and make it more relatable to fans.
