The whole point of the trip is to visit these different BBQ joints, with the anticipation that they have similar menus (considering they're all renowned for BBQ, not JUST ribs). Not doing the research beforehand is the whole point of the trip! So don't think less of the series for "not doing research" cause that's a load of crap.
he's saying that the average person looking for BBQ expects at least pulled pork or chicken. Not ribs or nothing. Their website is DreamlandBBQ.com not DreamlandRibs.com
If the point is to slack of every bbq you guys visited, bravo thats what you achieved. What the hell is the point of these series if you keep uploading reviews of places that you guys don't like based on absolutely shortsighted requirements.
Boy if I owned Grilla I would be ashamed of this series. It is so lame. Do better research. You 3 are rank amateurs. And stop asking for a place that does all the BBQ items on your list. What will you do when you get to Texas? What will you do when you get to the iconic whole hog places? Jeesh! This is getting really old really fast. This series is a flop!!!
My favorite BQQ place hear in Michigan is just a takeout place called Chicken Shack they have everything Ribs, Chicken, Pulled Pork their BQQ Pork Chops are amazing and I love their Broasted Potatoes yummy!
It can be hard to find good sides. It seems they take a backseat to the entree. Good coleslaw can be so hard to find. Most here dont stir it during serving and it gets to be straight veggies.Neat concept and great video. Weve got some ideas of places to try down south this summer now.
I have pretty much watched ALL of Jacks stuff, and I have been reading these comments and I have my opinion.....as do most people...BUT - I think that each BBQ place should be graded on what they offer, not what they don't offer...make it a mention, but no reason to downgrade that restaurant, grade what they are serving.. I have been here (this restaurant) and love the food...but did comment in my head "Why not serve this, and why not serve this?"...because they choose NOT to.....so that's my two cents worth...Jack, IMHO should grade a place on what they serve, not what they don't serve; make the mention as what the viewers can expect and let it go at that...I do like his "Vids" though, and I will continue to watch...I live in Huntsville, AL and look to visit some of the places he writes (specifically the Nashville area) about, when I am in the area......Keep at it Jack, choose to be your own man and most of all have fun. Dan the Man (DtM)
I would like to see you do some BBQ, and let people try it to see if they like it. All BBQ is different, and it depends on where you go. It would just be nice to see your take on it at least.
Jack........ Dreamland is not one of my personal favorites .......But they are good according to most Alabamians.. Originally when they first opened they only sold Ribs and bread if you wanted a side you bought a bag of chips and a soda from the the drink box. As far as the :carttillige goes.... we call that the 'GRISSLE' . AND WE LOVE IT (fat and all_ There are two locations in Tuscaloosa. the origninal one and a newer one. Anywho just wanted youn to know a few fun Facts.
Dreamland, Tuscaloosa, has been known for years as white bread and ribs. They have never pretended to be a pulled pork and brisket place. You need to do a better job of research on your places you want to make bad remarks about. Get your stuff together before you decide you can make observations about BBQ!
Jack you should try Scott's Barbeque in Hemingway, SC. Scott family has been doing this for generations. Been in the Washington Post and on CNN. Best in state in my opinion. Enjoy the show.
Have you tried the Rollin' Smoke BBQ in Vegas? If not, you have missed the best and you have left cards on the table. 100/ 100. No. I'm not affiliated with them. I just saw another video on it and I was blown away.
I do not get why in the hell you think "Mac n Cheese" has to be a side in a BBQ joint. Literally zero BBQ joints in my town offer mac-n-cheese on the menus here in Augusta, Ga. And if they do it's because it's some chain BBQ place that sux at making real BBQ. You are there to eat BBQ not mac-n-cheese. You might be surprised to know that even baked beans are not a common menu item in most of our BBQ joints. BBQ is local thing, it's for sure not a national thing and regional is very different between the towns in the region, therefore I say it's a local thing. I have for the most part enjoyed these series of BBQ wars but the Mac-n-Cheese thing really got on my nerves. There is no need to have only certain meats or sides to judge great BBQ. I love brisket but its a Texas thing and does not sell very well in the Southeast. Just saying....Keep up the good work.
If I sat down with this guy to eat and he said eat, don't eat, wait for me..... I d smack him. Have some manners and let your friends eat in their own time. I used to like your videos but it feels like these guys are forced to go along with these reviews.
forgive me for posting again but I just want to make sure this reaches you Jack. I have been a viewer since 2013 and the first wars series. I'm sorry to say this particular series is making me a little concerned for your channel. Lots of hate in the comments doesn't make them a pleasure to read. Like i said in the other post, BBQ is very competitive and people take it very seriously. Maybe stick to something you have a little more knowledge and experience in like burgers or fast food in general? I hope you don't take this comment the wrong way jack, it was a good try, but the vitriol some people are spewing just makes so surprised and upset. Anyways dont stop making videos. Thanks for putting up with me. Cher.
Jack. You really don't get it do you? You're lack of both regional and national BBQ has become embarrassing. No mac and cheese? Many places don't. No brisket,? Again, many regions just don't serve it. A restaurant with ribs it it's name just serving ribs? Did you do any research before taking your sponsors money? I am fan, for the most part. You try hard. This series is really a flop.

Jack when are you going to fix the "our" to out?
Your the first to mention it. I will nail the next video. I'm using the same template. Thanks for caring. I will fix it.

I hope they go to Franklin's BBQ in Austin.
I hope to take BBQ wars tour all through TX
