It's not as funny as right on the nose. Worked eighty hours weeks all through COVID when people were freaking out. Took two years, finally burned out.
"Neither meteors, nukes nor zombies will delay them TPS reports from getting submitted."
The corporation I work for would probably have an increase in business.
Well some corporations and Waffle Houses will try to keep employees working, our local Waffle house as USZRT on speed dial. (Yes it is a real organization just like Zombie Squad is)

When you have severe depression, the highlight of your day is those few seconds between waking up and remembering who you are and your doctor says "I'm not surprised", the psychiatrist says their medication "won't change reality, you know", your plan's therapist says "we can only handle mild or moderate depression, not yours" and the private therapist admits after a year that he originally though there was no way he could help - where's the space for hope? If I had voices in my head or snake covered floors then at least I'd be factually wrong so who's really messed up here?

I'm sorry it's been tough. I'm sorry society makes it so hard to find good help.
But I am so glad you are looking.
Don't hang on to the negative things they say. "This won't change reality" So what?! It'll chabge my brain chemistry which is most of the problem! My/your past experiences and the failures of the society we currently live in are the rest. Your past you can only accept but society you can change, once you start feeling better and not dread waking or realising you are you. You can change your circumstance and even society as a whole little by little. Heck you can move! To a different country even! I am not kidding! Go somewhere where your skill set is needed (no matter how simple you think it is. You would be surprised) where the rat race is slower or the culture is more manageable to you. You will figure it out.
Just remember to not drink or smoke or do recreational drugs (it will eff up your brain chemistry long term and drain your money for short term so-so relief, and counterbalance what the meds are trying to do)
And always try to make friends. It gets easier. Everyone is worthy of love and or at the very least acceptance. Do not isolate yourself forever. Take your time but don't take your whole life. Even if it's just a walk around the block it's better than the whole day being indoors. Go to a library, join a support group, play a game with others (online, in a park. Find listings in community centers)
Oh and switch your doctor when you can and when you need to. Don't think of it as time wasted, think of it as learning what you need and don't need in professional help. Not every shrink is a good shrink. Some are new and lack experience. All are human. Takes time finding what you need. Look online in between irl ones.
Good work. Don't worry so much. Luck is relative. Normal is relative. Everything will work out one way or another. As long as you are not homeless or addicted to something or physically abused, you can handle it one day at a time.

This skit reminds me of the live action Japanese film 'Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead' and its animated TV series.

I've been emotionally dead for years. Recovered from it relatively recently. Was lucky enough no one managed to eat me. Guess it's because we say "eaten alive" but since I was dead...
Now I'm only half-alive half-dead. So I don't appeal neither the dead nor the living. Not always easy but that's how it is.
