I definitely gotta set aside some time to watch this. This was my favorite ps2 horror series. I played the heck out of both and got all the endings and experienced most of the variations of dialogue and npc interactions in the 2nd installment. Fun fact: for the shower segment you can beat the encounter by turning all showers off and killing the stragglers. There's gonna be an abundance of ammo and supplies outside the prison if you're keen to explore, so it's safe to dispatch them all.
I wonder what other Midway games you played. That DeathJam Fight for New York game was fun during it's time. Speaking of Midway... I wonder where the rights to Suffering went once Midway closed it's doors, a Remake would be quite welcome right about now. It really had potential to become a series that stuck around to explore more and move past Torque's story because the concept of tortured souls and suffering was so vast. We didn't even explore All Carnate had to offer because of road blocks, caved in areas, locked buildings, and the small town's entrance being incinerated. It felt like the island didn't want you to fully experience all it had, just what it wanted to show you.
According to in-game lore, the Festers might actually be the slavers who left the slaves to die, condemned to spend eternity suffering the fate of the slaves, drowning and being eaten by rats.
Lol. As you're moving that rock, there's supposed to be infinite slayers coming out, it's scripted for them to be overwhelmed and killed by the creatures. So you can't save them unfortunately, they're supposed to die no matter what, which comes off as janky when you don't see anything kill them. The maze you follow your sons in post Asylum is actually a reference to the Shining... Especially when you see the dead body slumped against the grass. That was really cool to me. The Festers are interesting because they Don't represent the slaves. Clem himself points out the lighter skin tone of the face. They represent the slave traders forced to suffer the fate they placed upon their slaves. It's that sublte irony about these monsters that people don't usually pick up on.
i played the xbox version with the backwards compadability on the 360 but for some reason i couldnt do any one the good actions, for instance, in the quarry i moved the stone to help the inmate stuck on the ledge but he wouldnt move when it was there for him
So funny hearing you get scared, great video bro! 17:20 was hilarious
I remember that game, I liked it.
