The protagonist finally realizes that her current life is the best version and lives it without regrets. This is mirrored in the end scene where Joon leaves with Minha (the librarian) and returns to his current life without any regrets. The DOOR Joon yearns for is LIFE! Another interesting thing is that the book is published by Canongate Books whose logo is similar to BTS but in red.
