Thank you Jane for sharing with us. I am 53 and just started painting 6 months ago. I love it! Never dreamed I could paint something pleasing to the eye. Thank you so so very much for your inspiring way of teaching us.
I really like the way you explain about how to mix the colors. You explain which colors to use with each other. I am so glad that I found you sight. Thanks for teaching the way you do.
Jane, Thank you for your tutorials. You are an awesome instructor. I'm 66 and painting for the first time. You are my only art teacher I've ever had. I'll email you some of the paintings that I have done along with you. I and my family are so proud of me....all due to YOU !! Carol J.
I have followed several artists on TH-cam for years now, and I have enjoyed the journey. I must say however, I've never seen anyone like you. I appreciate how you take the time to explain the different techniques that all of us novices have always wondered how they were done. I really enjoy your work, thank you for sharing it.
My son and I did this painting as a two piece mother and son painting. One of the bird and the other long ways with more branches that connect together. He is autistic and loves to paint. This was a great tutorial for us both to understand . Thank you so much for the class! We had a blast!
+Megan C. Megan that sounds amazing!!! If you'd like to share, I would LOVE to see! facebook.com/PandemoniumArtVideos/ Art is such good therapy, isn't it? I'm so happy you guys shared this painting together
I really enjoy your way of teaching. I haven't watched TONS of painting videos, but this is the first I have seen where the artist gets really specific about how to use the brush. Thanks!
Jane as always incredible job. painting this one as a last minute gift for mom who loves Cardinals. fingers crossed. hope you have a great holiday and thanks for everything
You are such a great teacher, I wish I had one like you when I went threw school. It takes a lot to keep my attention, but painting with you lets me see more than just the surface. I painted this last night and I had so much fun it really looks cool. A friend came over today and seen it and couldn't believe I painted it, I couldn't either. Thank you soooooooooooo much for doing this you are really helping me in life with so many other things threw your teachings. May the powers of the great spirits of this wonderful earth bless you and your family with all goodness.
+Nick j Wow, Nick, thank you so much!!! I'm so glad I could help you paint!!! Keep it up, and always feel free to share on my Facebook page! I'd love to see :D facebook.com/PandemoniumArtVideos/
Jane, another great one. I like the way you work with your video techniques. The close up parts are so useful to fully describe what you are trying to demonstrate. Well done and very helpful for all.
Thank you so much Jane for taking the time to make these lessons. I truly enjoy watching each and everyone of them! Still have a few to more to catch up on. I am learning so much about the color blending by watching you , can't wait to try the cardinal!
hi, I just tried this painting. First time I painted on a canvas. I did not even have all the colors you painted with and my lil kids helped with the berries which looks more like flying petals. We are just so inspired and so happy with it. thank you so much for this video.
I've been watching your videos for a while now and have learned a lot. I practice different scenes while watching you. I think I've got the courage to do one from beginning to end. Thanks for being such a good teacher.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THESE WONDERFUL VIDEOS I AM RETIRED HERE IN FLORIDA AND WAS LOOKING FOR A HOBBY. I THINK WITH YOUR HELP I'VE FOUND ONE YOU ARE SO EASY TO FOLLOW. THANKS AGAIN. SCOTTY
Just watched your video of the cardinal I love the cardinal with the tree in the snow and the berries and this was a very good example for me to look at thank you very much for showing your talent and this tutorial I really appreciate Marnie
Jane, Thank you for your wonderful tutorials!! I have watched them all and you just keep finding new ways to encourage positive creativity!!! You are a true artist with a big heart.
I am so happy to find someone that really knows how to teach painting! You have inspired me to pick up my paint brush and start again! Thank you so much!
Thank you for the wonderful tutorial. This is the first time I watched your tutorial and I really enjoyed. I used to paint and draw all the time when I was younger, but stopped. I have recently decided to "spark" my interest see if I could "unblock the talent flow" and took a painting class, it was "ok". Your video on the other hand has truly inspired me. I could hug you if you were here. I really do thank you, so very much for the inspiration.
Dear Jane, I loved your video of the cardinal. Your teaching style is so helpful to me especially the way you build confidence. I'm so happy I found you and hope to find more of your videos. Thank You and God Bless.
Wonderful! The Cardinal was my mothers favorite bird. I think I will try this one. Formerly, I painted in oils, now I've switched to acrylics and am having to learn how to work with this medium. I find your videos very helpful. Thank you for your tutorials!
+IMP Mulcahy Thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying the videos :) I'd love to see how your painting turns out, if you'd like to share! facebook.com/PandemoniumArtVideos/
I have started watching this several times and finally started the video all the way from the beginning without stopping, and I want to tell you Jane, that of the few videos I've seen of people doing cardinals.. YOURS is the best. I love the amount of time and detail you put into it and as always, the time you take to explain as you are painting it. Thank you!!
Today I painted on canvas for the first time. I have just begun with acrylics... never had classes, but found your video extremely rewarding. It was also the first anniversary of my Mom's passing. She loved cardinals, so I was very excited to find your video. Thank you so much for doing this! I look forward to learning more with you!
+Maureen Carr Oh, Maureen! I'm so sorry about your mom, but I'm excited for you to start your art journey! What a perfect way to do it too. I'm glad this painting can be meaningful to you
I have so enjoyed your painting tutorials. My favorite is the "Funky Flamingo" and I just love the way mine turned out. Today I attempted the "winter cardinal" and found I was pretty successful for a beginner. Thank you for your lessons. I would love to share a picture of my accomplishment but I can't figure out how to do so.
Hi Jane ! I'm a beginner and my brother in WY is the legit artist in my family. My kiddos are so busy and grown up so I took this up as a hobby/therapy (empty nest) and it has soon developed into my passion. This painting is my new challenge. and I want you to know that i just love your videos. I love the time you take to explain 'painting technique" and I can set you up next to me and learn as I go along. Thank you. Beth (I'm on my daughter's laptop while mine is being fixed)
I'm very excited to have just come across your videos. I love birds & trees and the thought of being able to paint a cardinal is wonderful. Your teaching ability is outstanding. I will be watching all your videos. Thank you for sharing your gift of art and for the inspiration. Happy New Year to you.
i have recently started painting again i havent painted much since high school and i just wanted to let you know how absolutely much i have learned from watching your videos so i just really want to thank you from the bottom of my heart you are an amazing artist and amazingly helpful! thanks again! -steven
I really enjoy your tutorials Jane! I have just started painting and I find your teaching to be easy to listen to and informative. Thank you for sharing your talent!
I love your painting videos! I follow them and my paintings come out better ,I still suck at it but we all start somewhere. Thanks for being an inspiration!
+Rebecca smiles Thank you for watching!! You do not suck. Everyone needs practice and not everything turns out right. Be patient and just enjoy the process :)
Fantaboulous painting! - Love watching and learning from you, also, I love that when you paint things you don't like and don't hide it but tell us how to correct it. It makes me appreciate your incredible talent even more! (You have resolved so many issues for me - Thank You!)
Hi Jane! I just got done with this painting. The coloring on my bird is a bit off and the tail feathers are more spread out, but it still looks really good. You make it so easy! Thanks for posting these videos.
The bird is beautiful and of course the whole painting is! What is cool is the point you make about control. It seemed like in the Halloween Witch painting...the tree and other things were giving me fits. And the Rainy Window painting I was so tense that I was just shaking. When I realized first...how easy it is to fix mistakes with acrylics that helped me calm down so much. Realizing that...my calming down... made me stop shaking. That is all it was all along. I thought I had some condition. ARGH. :D Thanks so much for explaining these things. You are so patient and I am grateful. Biggest ART Hugs to you and THANK you SO much. :D
Love this video, Excited to be painting this for my Aunt for x-mas present. Cardinal special sign for our family. This one is beautiful, hopefully mine turns out as well as yours. Thank you enjoy all your tutorials. Have a great New Year & looking forward to the next year's tutorials.
Thank you for this tutorial...I have begun a few painting classes yet the instructions have been not detailed enough as you have shown here. My photo is of a Cardinal yet I have been shown in detail on how to shade and enhance the bright colors on your video as compared to the classroom. Also, thank you for the information on creating the depth of branches to where they truly look like a real branch. It is so true about the "giving up" of the control...I tend to do that and end up with a mess. Thank you again for this great tutorial and I will also see what else you have instructed others in painting....
Thank you for doing this, I had a hard time making a realistic looking cardinal and this helped step by step, great tutorial! Nice and close up, great video.
I just finished this step by step and was aftaid of doing the berries and messing the whole thing up. used the big and small end of a chopstick and it worked out better than I thought
Love it! Starting it today! Just gotta get a few tubes of colors I don't have.... TY so much for your very informative, friendly and motivational video. You really are an amazing teacher!
Saw this video for the first time today, and just want to tell you that I've learned more from you in this short time than I have from all the other tutorials I've watched from others. The suggestion of using a pen tip to get round dots, for one. I also like the way you explain why you're doing what you're doing and why you're using a particular brush to achieve a specific effect. Please keep up the good work!
I've always wanted to learn to paint! Im super happy to have run into you. You have taught me many tips I.e. holding the brush. Mixing color, blending, not to stress, be what I want it to look look and feeling happy about it! Thanks very much and will continue to paint along with you!!!cocoTiffany
Excellent !!! as always!!! Merry Christmas and that the new 2016 brings you more and more and MORE !!!! love your work.. Thank you again for all you do and teach us!
Yes ma'am I did! Both the big square one and the long rectangle one are sold. The square one was $600 and the long one was $300. I plan on doing more, though! In fact, I have one rolling around in my head that has to come out today :D
This is an awesome video! I love the way you explain exactly what brushes to use and how to use them, when to add water, etc. I paint Dot Mandalas but have been wanting to branch out into painting objects, without the dots. I’ve watched who knows how many videos with “beginner”, “easy” or “step by step” in the description, only to find that they are anything but... Thank you so much for labeling this painting correctly. I’m subscribed and I also rang the bell! I’m so happy to have found you. About to attempt this cardinal now! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much, Melanie!! I'm so glad you enjoyed this one! I look up to anyone who does the dot mandala paintings. That's something I wish I could get into, but I know that I would get impatient and sloppy (the exact opposite of what should happen with those paintings, lol). I hope to see you around!!
I love this painting so much I decided to do it as my first all by myself at home with your guidance painting. It took two tries but I pretty much got it the way I wanted it. I want to share but I can't figure out how to add the photo...lol
Ah! A bird! I love birds and for some reason, I'm really good at drawing them. My first good sketch was a bird. I have no idea what kind, but I was seriously proud. Granted, I spent around seven hours on that one bird so when I felt done with the sketch, there was no background XD Just a bird standing there. In the middle of the sketchbook.
Hi Jane!!! love love love it!!! I have to try this!!! You are really good explaining and every video teach me something new!!! I Wish you a happy ending of the year and I will be waiting your next video!!! And I will share on your fb page when I finish this one. By the way...I would love a video talking about techniques to do diferent types of flowers, and leaves, but abstract, not really realistic. (Also I would like to learn how to paint something in the rain!!!) Or what we can do when you hate the painting you did and painting the canvas in black or white and start over !!!! And I will wait for my butterfliessss!!!! I know is too much but you did ask!! lol ..... Just giving you some ideas for your videos. :D See you soon and thanks for doing that...It is really helpfull and Inspiring!!!! Happy everythinggg!!!!!
hi Jane-I just found this video & love how easy it is to follow along&how much I've learned. I'm excited to paint this as a gift for my mom. I have a question regarding the outside edges of the canvas (I'm a beginner) & always wondered what to do w/them. Do you leave them white or paint them the color of background or maybe another color? Sometimes when I'm painting a background the edges will get some paint on it. Not sure if it's b/c of the type or brand of canvas I'm using (I always get the least expensive). If anyone has an idea or suggestions, I'd love to hear it. Thank you for this video!
Beautifully done video and exactly what I was looking for in a tutorial for this type of painting!! Thank you so much for sharing your talent :) ~ Nancy

do you work with thick tube acrylic or bottle Acrylic?
Liz Bell It looks like tube acrylics because of the thickness. Bottled acrylics are thinner and are really more fluid.🙂
watching these videos are part of my relaxing period. Makes, painting seem so easy and relaxing... thanks
+jewalz n I'm glad I can help :) Thanks for watching!

+Pandemonium Art Gallery Did you paint that big cloud back canvas ? How much is that ? I LOVE IT!!
Yes ma'am I did! Both the big square one and the long rectangle one are sold. The square one was $600 and the long one was $300. I plan on doing more, though! In fact, I have one rolling around in my head that has to come out today :D
Thank you for the lesson and instructions.. I'm a beginner and this helps a lot..

Your Such A Great Artist/Painter and Your Paintings Are Beauitful!
I'm going to try this one for my darling, bird-lovin' grandaughter. Wish me luck.
You've got this, friend! She'll love it :D
Beautiful.
I’m going to try and paint this on Monday.
I really love all of your painting, going to try out thank so much......
You're so welcome, Libr! Thank you :)
I love this painting so much I decided to do it as my first all by myself at home with your guidance painting. It took two tries but I pretty much got it the way I wanted it. I want to share but I can't figure out how to add the photo...lol
I'm so proud of you, Beth! If you're on Facebook, you can share with me there: facebook.com/PaintingWithJane/
Very educational and very thoughtful
Love this Cardinal great job...
Ah! A bird! I love birds and for some reason, I'm really good at drawing them. My first good sketch was a bird. I have no idea what kind, but I was seriously proud. Granted, I spent around seven hours on that one bird so when I felt done with the sketch, there was no background XD
Just a bird standing there. In the middle of the sketchbook.
Nice!!! Now put him on a tree :D
Hi Jane!!! love love love it!!!
See you soon and thanks for doing that...It is really helpfull and Inspiring!!!! Happy everythinggg!!!!!
+Janice Elaine Scarcella Hahaha! Yep, I asked! They're all great ideas :D Happy Everything to you, too, Janice!! :D

+Linda Gallipo Yay! Please share whatever you paint :D
i certainly will :D
hi Jane-I just found this video & love how easy it is to follow along&how much I've learned.
