To be honest I hated Tori, could not stand this character and then to my dismay this season I began to feel and root for her character. Damn this show 🤣
Yeah. He went from holier than thou, to practical, to sinister, to psychotic, to broken, to disturbed, to being back in control and totally without morals. He was pretty much a different character every episode
For me, William zabka stole every season from 1-3. But I gotta give this season to Thomas Ian Griffith, he was awesome. His chemistry with William zabka and Martin kove was great
Andrew is really good at references but there was a quick offhanded comment by Daniel I am surprised he didn't catch. The switchblade comment in reference to Ralph Machio being in Outsiders.
I didn’t realize the first watch. But when the sprinklers go off, you can see Sam in the car pissed off, she wanted to throw hands lol. She embracing the cobra in her more & more
I was still not a fan of Tory at this point. I get that she has a rough home life but she legit committed multiple crimes and had almost no repercussions. like she put Sam in the hospital, orchestrated a full-on attack on the Larusso's home and we're still supposed to feel sorry for her? having a shitty home life doesn't excuse the poor decisions she has made.
I like how the water sprinklers trick mirrored how Daniel and Johnny are. It did a good job of showing how they see situations, Johnny always looking to fight and Daniel trying to outsmart and avoid conflict. You can see that Johnny realizes this which understandably would piss him off.
It's also Miguel saying no weapons and the way both sides(gangs) were standing and met up in front of each other at the drive-in with the shot of the moon is a reference to westside story (we needed the whistle)
Hey Mystic-nerd dudes. Speaking of Tory, remember that character on Saved by the Bell? Chuck Klosterman wrote a cool essay called the 'Tori paradox'. How she showed up and left once Kelly and Jessie returned and no one acted like anything weird happened at all.
It's hard to concentrate about anything going on in this reaction video when you have someone like Andrew sitting there cause that's all I wanna look at. More Andrew please :)
Another easter egg was at the end when Daniel referenced having a switchblade knife fight at the drive in, which references "The Outsiders" (1983), a movie Ralph Macchio was in.
Just watched Karate Kide 3 for the first time last night; it's amazing how this retired actor was so easily able to get back into the Terry Silver role. Kudos to him for sure! I love how they are just adding more layers to Robby and Tory this season as well. I was Team Sam but now kinda leaning towards Tory, but can't decide yet 🙃
I get Greg's hesitation toward Tory. And as someone who didn't really like her by the start of the season, I did warm up to her a lot by the end. I just wish they hadn't shown her first committing a bunch of crimes (the school brawl, the Larusso break in), *then* showing her more sympathetic side. The other way around might have made it easier to understand her character before the S2 and S3 finale craziness. How good are Martin Kove and Thomas Ian Griffith?? They bring the over the top 80s bad guy sleaze while being so charismatic you just want to see more of them. As someone who barely remembers KK3, this is making me want to rewatch for Silver alone.
Haha I've noticed something the kid johnny walked past in the school and knocked the book from his hand and said sorry old habit joined eagle fang karate.. not a big thing but hey
John Creese is actually the one character who genuinely feels no different at all from the films, and I love that. Instantly recognisable. I probably wouldn't recognise Johnny if I just switched this on for the first time.
Learning the basics of how to drive is pretty easy. I picked it up quick and I know tons and tons of other people did. It’s really getting your permit and then your license that’s the trickiest part of the whole thing.
Has anyone else also think that Johnny's view on Ice's character in Top Gun is a connection to how Barnie from How I Met Your Mother would view Johnny's Character in Karate Kid?
It's amusing to me to this day that people still deny that larusso or anything he taught was bad. I mean look at how the miyagi do students treated Kenny in the bathroom regardless of what happened with Cobra kai, Larusso is supposed to be better but this whole season has showed that the Larussos and his students are bullies
Just Another Reference For Your Friend Andrew When Burt Says "I Think He's Gonna Cry" Thats What Tommy Says After Dutch Tries To Fight Daniel In The Showers Before The Tournament In The First Karate Kid 😎
I thought the Top Gun reference was even smarter than first thought because we all know Johnny’s favorite movie is Iron Eagle which was the OTHER fighter pilot jet movie at the time, and arguably the lesser of the two. It’s a metaphor for Johnny’s sometimes inferiority complex.
"What'd you want him to do? Get into a drive-in switchblade fight?" Come on, guys. That was a reference to "The Outsiders" which Ralph Macchio was in. Figured one of you woulda caught it.
