Yes, it's similar in feel to Aquilonian. But it's definitely different. They didn't just copy it and change the colors. What they specifically tried to do was to make a build set that harmonized with Aquilonian so you could use both together in the same building, kinda like Yamatai and Khitan have a similar Asian theme and can be used together. It also pairs nicely with Arena. Like you say, in many ways it's improved over Aquilonian. The columns and the vaulted and coffered ceilings give it a more classical look than Aquilonian. If anything, Aquilonian was a "rip off" of their Age of Conan game, particularly the images of Tarantia, but I think that's an unkind characterization.
Thank you for your comments. I get that they wanted it to harmonize with Aquilonian, but they still could of made all the pieces different. If you place the items side by side you can see the overlap. If you are going to ask for 10.00 make all pieces of the DLC unique. Cheers!
The pillars on the gate aren’t bad just build a deck out in front of the gate with a few foundations and stairs and it would look great or have the gate a foundation in from the outer wall.
I always recommend that builders surround their structure with a patio of two or three foundations to feed to the purge. I still put pillars on foundations at top of stairs, to prevent mobs from passing. Am I the only one that does this, or has the mechanics changed?
Not sure why you are experiencing the offset using the railed stairway set, I am not having this problem with them. On my build, they are linked directly together though, it looked like you have them mated to a foundation. Might be they are attaching to the foundation and not to each other which is causing the offset. I agree, Argos does have similarities to the Aquilonian set, but I like the more weathered look of the new pieces and it gives you the option to easily combine the set. I do wish they would outfit every one of the building sets with the arched ceiling pieces and add an arched wedge piece, for some reason they didn't do this so you can not build tunnels on a curve. Great video Van, excellent work. :D
@@VaniverseGaming The problem is that they chose to mix between Greek and Roman styles I'd say, Gladiators are a Roman thing, not Greek, also the Shortsword is a Roman Gladius, which was typically used by armies in a Shieldwall Formation
I don't really think it's a rip-off of any of the other DLCs. In Conan lore, Aquilonia is based off of the Roman Empire, which was a Latin Empire with very heavy Greek influence. Since Argos is supposed to be the Greece of Conan's world, it's obviously going to have stylistic similarities to Aquilonia. The architecture could definitely tried to be more unique though, but again, based off of Ancient Greece.
I was originally gonna buy aquilonian but Idk i like this a bit more I guess, I absolutely hate the armor other than the heavy but the building pieces are quite cool, also I’m a sucker for gladiator from for honor so it just gives me that kind of feels lol
I love your Conan videos Van, but one thing gets me every time. You're pronouncing crenellated like "Cren-you-lated". The word is pronounced like "Cren-el-ated". The part of the wall that sticks up is called a "merlon", and the gap between them is called a "crenel", from the Latin word "Crena", meaning "notch". A wall that has had crenels set into it has been crenellated.
I have been making videos for many years, and I am always corrected on my pronunciation. I am glad that I have people like you to set me straight! Cheers!
All of your reviews can be pretty accurately summed up with the sentence" "meh, it's pretty generic". You are so unimpressed with anything that isn't gigantic, flashy, gold nonsense. No sense of aesthetics whatsoever lol

Yeah, I just do not like the design is all. Thank you for your comment. Cheers!

Interesting choice of the shield to expose the hand...
Appreciate the comment. Cheers!

Wow even the ceiling have ocean life reference, it looks like octopus tentacle sucker cups patten
Thank you for your comment!. Sorry for such a delayed response. Usually I respond within serveral days not months...Cheers!
All I know is that apart from a few textures this has nothing to do with ancient Greece
The location of Argo is where present day Greece, and Turkey are located. Sorry if I did not convey that correctly. Cheers!

Thank you for your post. I was more saying that Funcom was being lazy with the DLC and added a lot of reskin, instead of new ideas. Cheers!
@@VaniverseGaming I don't think you know what the word "reskin" means.

Sweet. Yeah this paired with Aquilonian is pretty sweet. Cheers!
Can u make an army of thralls that follow u to battle?
You can make an army of thralls and have them guard your bases. However, only 1 thrall and a horse can follow you at one time. Cheers!
I think it’s a hexagon. No a octagon. I don’t know it’s a gon
Its one of those multi sided gons. Cheers!
You missed the second table. There is a regular table and a writing desk.
Great video though.
I did? Damn it, I always miss something! Thanks for adding the comment. Cheers!
You've got a Logan in your comments.
I am not sure I understand. Who is logan? Cheers!

Great vid Van, I agree it’s just a rip off to the other dlc’s, the fountain does look really sick tho, would probably buy it just for that alone haha
Yeah I was like, man I have seen all this before, why would I drop 10 dollaaaa holy shit look at that fountain! sold. Cheers!
