Hi, Gerry, Tom here. I doubt you remember me, but, I had to write and tell you how thrilled I am that you are back on TH-cam. I faithfully watched all of your past videos and have learned so much from you. Looking forward to your future offerings.
Hey Gerry! Glad to see your still with us,hope no damage from hurricane! Looking forward to video on new pedals, interested in old electrical harness connection to new pedals. The old pedals with the pin lock have broken, had to Jerry rig with tie wraps, not ideal but helped
Gerry, the pins are ok,its the plastic that holds the pins that broke. I’m hoping the new pedals are twist lock without pins.Did you receive new weight capacity plate?
Mike, I am afraid to say that is probably true. I sometimes wonder if the original pedals were better somehow than newer ones. I do not know how many older boats have had no problems with their pedals but it would be interesting to know that. Gerry
Gerry -----Thanks for your work and I look forward to hearing what you have to show and say. One of the things I notice in the FB pictures and videos is people saying that they have to keep resetting the pedals. I think they are not making the pedals and the cables secure on the floor of the TT. I have never had a problem with my pedals in the 3 years that I have owned my boat. I put the pedals in my trunk when trailering and hook and unhook them up when I am at the lake. I also remove them when the boat is stored and charging in my garage, and keep the pedals inside my basement when at home. Just my 2 cents.
Barnett, if you are talking about the pedals slipping out of the slots on the floor I only had that happen twice in eight years. The track for my seats were dirty and I was trying to move my seat back without lifting my butt off the seat first. Every once in a while I run a rag through the track to clean it out but sometimes I do not do that often enough. My pedals are almost never unplugged. I trailer with them in the boat plugged in and charge the boat with them still plugged in, always in the garage. When I unplugged them for this video it was the first time they were unplugged so long ago I do not remember when, years. I am not saying I am right, that is just what I do Gerry
Thank you for the video. I am also in need of a new pedal for my boat. One of them is currently not working as it only works when pushing the pedal in reverse. Haven’t used my boat in six months. I’m ready to get back up out on the water. Thanks again. Looking forward to some information.
@@LunkerFishing In my opinion, you are the best for this product review. Since you have started your TH-cam channel, your Twin Troller boat, accessories, and how to/do it yourself videos have been great! Hopefully Josh has watched a handful of your videos on the Twin Troller. I think he should include your opinion on anything new for this boat. You provide a great perspective with your vast boating knowledge that started decades before the Twin Troller was ever thought about. 😁
i apologize if I already posted this. I have my new pedals and all new wire harnesses. My original pedals shorted out because a faulty connector, thus the new harnesses. Loved the new pedals until I kept tripping the breakers when going past half throttle. Turns out that my new harnesses had 15A fuses, not the original 50A. I contacted Freedom Electric and they promptly sent out new breakers. My older motors draw about 25A of current when full throttle out of the water, so I know with resistance they draw at least 35A. I think this was just a boo boo on their part that will be quickly corrected. all that said, the new pedals are a dream. light weight, smooth, quiet. Hope to get many years of pleasure out of them . Thanks to Freedom Electric Marine for their great customer service and thank you Lunker for new content on your channel.
I'm probably the first one to disclose this information that would probably be removed from the Facebook page, but if you have the 36 lb thrust Motors you will less likely have problems with the new pedals because those will work better with a 12 volt system compared to the 45 pound thrust Motors which should not be used with 12 volt systems due to the length of the wiring and is likely at least one major culprit of why the new pedals fail, it's because 2 x 45 lb thrust Motors working in tandem really should be 24 plus volts, not 12 especially with long wires
Gerry, be careful. If your pedals are working fine you should maybe just keep using them. I read a lot of people are having trouble with the new pedals.
Actually sunk my twin troller last year. I don’t trust it any more. Had to drag it out of the lake and dump the water out. Once I got it home the hull was full of water. Its been sitting ever since. This was only the 5th or sixth time it was used.
@@LunkerFishing not sure, I checked all the places looking for obvious leaks. I think I am just going to have to take everything apart and over seal everything, starting with the trolling motors. I plan in putting in a permanent 12 volt sump pump, drilling and installing a hose to keep water out of the hull. I did enjoy it the few times I used it. That last time I took it out, I thought “wow has it always sat this low in the water?” Then half way across the lake a wake from a bigger boat splashed over filling it with water. I baled as fast as I could but it was too late. Once the pedals were wet it quit working so I had paddle back as close to the shore as I could get before jumping out and pulling it the rest of the way. Fun times, we had a good laugh at sinking the unsinkable boat.
On the Facebook page, it is moderated and a lot of posts and comments are being removed by liz, employee of twin troller if they complain very much about the pedals, so we don't even get to see half of the complaints there.
@@LunkerFishing Yes, me and I got a warning from Liz never to say anything except positive things about TT or I will be banned from the group. Someone else also mentioned having her post removed. Someone posted a review of the new pedals and it was removed because it said something bad about the pedals. One reason for the censoring is Josh, etc. may be in fear of a product recall.
I promise you will not be censored here unless you threaten someone or are spam or something like that. A few years ago I had to block someone for threats but that is rare. People that visit my channel are truly great people that want to learn from each other. Gerry
I apologize if you already received reply but the clip that holds pedal diid not break ,it was the plastic housing that holds the pin.I hope new pedals use twist lock adapters. Did you receive new weight capasity plate? I appreciate your independent analysis of new pedals before I order. Jerry

Jerry, I had hurricane Milton over the house but lucky for me I had a small amount of damage that is mostly repaired already. Best of all, my Twin Troller stays in the garage where it is safe! Sounds like you were able to fix your pedals and can still get the boat out. 👍🏻 Gerry
Good to see you Gerry! Can’t wait for the upcoming videos.
Thanks Kevin! Gerry

Gerry! It is SO good to see a video from you! Looking forward to more videos about those new pedals!
Thanks, I hope you like the videos when I get the pedals. Gerry
Absolutely great to see you back in action thank you, K
Thanks, I have been fishing regularly but not recording it. Gerry
Gerry, I bought a twin troller in 2019 because of you. Thank you ❤
Joe, I have owned many boats but the Twin Troller is the most versatile. It may not be fast but I find it to be more fun. Gerry
Hey Gerry, good to see another video from you. I hope you're doing well.

How did that happen? Rain? Hole in hull? Was TT in water for a long time? It is easy to empty that water from the hull, watch my videos. Gerry
