Tip for the gnomes: If you make them angry, just sell them immediately and they won't trash your house or zap your Sims/appliances.
If you appease them, pop the gnomes into a Sim's inventory. They will spawn seed packets into the household inventory, and you can easily sell the seed packets and the gnomes for some decent money once Harvestfest is over. This also prevents them from spawning seed packets all over the house, they'll all be neatly in the household inventory instead.

I was wondering why I was getting so many seeds lol!
I had almost 200 of each lol

      @purplecosmonaut ปีที่แล้ว +5

Fair but personally I like seeing the gnomes popping up everywhere and scattering seed packets. It's the beauty of the holiday for me. Putting them in the inventory makes the holiday more invisible and is a bit boring to me personally.

@@PeteyPlaysIt I add the flower bunny and watch romantic tv traditions for the love day, and combine that holiday with Easter traditions to form a spring holiday that involves attending a ceremony.
For new year's eve i add fireworks and also add a second day called new year's day. which focuses mostly on resolutions and watching sports television as well as the polar bear plunge.

So...true story...I once had my Mint Not -so-Berry sim sabotage the grand meal on Harvest fest with all her friends over. There was only one bathroom and three Sims died from embarrassment because they kept peeing on the floor in front of each other.

With every holiday except new year, whenever all my sims reach the golden state I just finish the tradition so I can forget about refreshing it, like the feeling grateful will vanish and you have to repeat and repeat the interaction until 2am... so I just close it 😂

The holiday schedule for me would be as follows since I use 28 day seasons:
Love Day, Mourning Friday/Mourning Saturday, Resurrection Sunday/Resurrection Monday (second weekend of Spring); Love Day is the Thursday before Mourning Friday, with Mourning Friday/Saturday and Resurrection Sunday/Monday as custom holidays
Leisure Week (custom holiday for last two weeks of Summer); two-week period where children are off from school; includes Dedication Saturday/Sunday and Labor Saturday/Sunday
Spooky Day (second Friday in Fall); scheduled surprise holiday that takes place at night
Festivus season comprises of the following four holidays:
Harvestfest, Shopping Friday/Saturday (last week of Fall); Shopping Friday/Saturday are custom holidays that take place two days after Harvestfest
Menorah Celebration (first week of Winter): Eight day celebration based on Hanukkah which allows work/school on weekdays but not on weekends; gift giving is allowed except on Saturday due to Shabbat
    Winterfest (second Monday of Winter)
Kinara Celebration (the five days after Winterfest): Five-day celebration based on Kwanzaa; children off from school
New Year's Eve and New Year's Day (6-7 days after Winterfest): focuses on celebrating the New Year based on the Gregorian calendar; changed to earlier date due to confusion with the Chinese New Year (Spring Festival)
Additional holidays include the first and last days of school, as well as the football championship which takes place on the last day of Winter.

I find those darn gnomes super creepy, but when my new Sims are at university, they have a nice Harvestfest, appease the gnomes, put them in their personal inventory, and then those seed packets collect in the household inventory. Over time, there are thousands of simoleons in there. When each Sim leaves the household, they leave with a tidy sum to start their new household. I don't really mind the easy street lifestyle. I also use this extra money, as a scholarship fund, as necessary. I turn into a little socialist, and share the wealth where needed. Since I play one save game, with dozens of households so far, there tends to be a lot of residual simoleons floating around. At some point, I may just have to delete that awful holiday tradition though. Who do they think they are?!?
