@@GasssFreak Yes, this is what I do, I try to draw what I think are my flaws in a more attractive manner, so that it appeals to me. but I can tell if I was more self confident I wouldn't mind drawing myself in super unflattering ways and such

this is really inspiring.. I have to say in the beginning I kind of thought you are not improving at all. The vast majority of the improvement I think happens at the last 10 percent and its so inspiring to see that all the drawing in the beginning was leading up to it even thought its hard to see it sometimes. I have been drawing for a long time but I tend to shy away from things like portraits because I know I am not good at it. This inspires me to go back to trying it again.
actually if you look at this again the vast majority of his improvement started at 0:46 he started applying more line weight to the correct places like the eyes and he was starting to use more form in his drawings
