Hi, the PID will only be accurate to a certain point. Throughout a standard double shot it usually drops around 4-5°C. Checkout my older videos on temperature management. With intrashot temp surfing you are not only able to compensate for that, but temperature profiling is also achievable.

Yes, correct. The PID is there as a backup if I am lazy, or another family member uses the machine.

Thank you. These functions normally controlled by the same switch (steam function switch), so the twin switch separates these functions.
