You'd have to have that sort of training to be able to even perform those roles at a professional level in the first place.

She is like those singers of the past because they would sing the song...and Dionne and Gladys have both said that in order to make the song believable is to sing the lyrics, because if you don't, it takes away the integrity of a song...Just like if say, if a singer would add riffs, runs and adlibs to this song it would take away the nature, meaning and integrity of this beautiful song. That's why when you hear singers today do songs like this and they try to do it their way, half the time you don't recognize the song because they do wayyyyyy to much. Miss Erivo did an EXCELLENT Job in interpreting Alfie. I loved this performance....so did the audience and especially Miss Warwick...she did her justice.
