  • (G-JMAB) Boeing 757-3CQ, fantastic RB211 roar on takeoff from London Gatwick Airport to Grenoble Isere in Lyon on the 28/02/15
A flight video including the taxi, takeoff, approach and landing of flight TCX1468.
A great flight with Thomas Cook Airlines on board one of two Boeing 757-300's based in the U.K. Very quick flight as even the captain explained that he is used to places more further afield. Amazing engine sound and very loud thrust reduction after departing Gatwick's runway 26L. Excellent views of France and a nice approach into Grenoble, runway 09. A very unusual occurrence when pulling up to the stand at Grenoble. We were made to shut down the engines on the taxiway whilst they pushed us almost perpendicular to the stand! Overall a nice flight -especially for the price. This is now my second time on the 757-300, I flew on G-JMAA to Fuerteventura almost a year ago. The link to this video is here - • Thomas Cook Boeing 757... . This flight was piloted by two captains!

I think the RB211 sounds better than a GE90. And this one is awesome!

Gotta give you Britts credit for two marvelous machinery in the last 100 years, the spitfire and the RB211.

Nice vid, Conor! Those RB211's were awesome as usual! And, I really liked the reaction of one of the captains to being asked to shut his engines off and be pushed back to the stand.....I thought it was kind of funny actually!.......but, I'm not sure if he was just rather perplexed or maybe a bit annoyed as well..........what did you think? Also, do you think that they could've
actually squeezed in to that spot on their own, or did it make sense to do it this way? To me, the A330 on the left did look like it might be in the way, but I don't know. I'm kind of glad that they did it this way, actually.........it was very entertaining to watch and listen to......a nice little bonus at the end of the flight! Thanks, man. :)

Thanks a lot! Yeah very unusual indeed, the captain didn't seem annoyed when I spoke to him but by the sounds of things, he is more of a mid-haul pilot when he said that it was a very short flight ahaha, so he's probably not used to flying these short routes It's a wonderful aircraft, I knew that JMAB had a better sounding Nr1 engine so I was pretty excited when I found out lol. The Monarch A330 has to be pushed back onto stand weirdly! Thanks for the comment and like :D
