Please consider installing a Reverse Osmosis filter system in your kitchen. They are not that difficult to maintain. You only need to change the filters. It is much cheaper than buying water and its also pretty convenient.
When using the drill press, drill bits often jam or 'catch' the material and will spin it. This is especially true just as the drill bit bites through the exit side of the material. For longer materials, lean them up against the post frame of your drill press before you start drilling. (That's where they will end up anyway when the drill bit jams.) Shorter materials need to be clamped or put in a vise. This will prevent damage to your drill bits and material that you're working with. Saves your fingers from getting cut off too.
Jim Manson I forgot that once, just once, the drillbit caught and spun the metal bar right into my ribs at full speed. I can guarantee it will never happen again. Bruised ribs suck for months.
Right. I worked with a fellow who lost a finger when the metal piece he was holding suddenly caught and spun against the post frame. Happened so fast he couldn't let go, and his hand was pulled with it. Bye - bye finger. I don't want to sound like a "Safety Nazi" but this is really dangerous.
