Thank you for showing this wonderful film,, I really must come over the pond to one of (or two) your superb ploughing matches, keep up the good work and best wishes from good old England.
Entitled Steam Threshing - but actually steam ploughing. In New Zealand late 1800's early 1900's 11 traction engines each pulling a 22 furrow plough cultivated the huge Canterbury Plains. They ploughed side by side 10 hours a day, wek after week until the job was done. Most of our grain to this day still comes from the Canterbury Plains.
the name of the club and event is "Steam Threshing Days at Heritage Park, Forest City, Iowa" they do thresh here as well. thank you for watching and your comment.
Классные трактора) особенно паровой,он вообще мощь,а ведь ему уж много лет,вот что значит старое американское качество. Жалко, паровые трактора сняли с производства, отличная экономия топлива была бы.
great video! Thanks for sharing it, I really enjoyed it. It appears that the plows are not scouring very well. Is the the first they were used for the season?
The steam tractors in Britain are all polished up and repainted and cared for meticulously, these American tractors look like they are left sitting in the rain outside all year, plus they dont sound healthy. Buy some paint, oil those beasties up and care for them in a building of some sort. Put an American flag on them and stand like a proud Victorian.
Dont compare American iron with British iron. We made ours to work and not for show. Paint doesn't make it run good. Do you really know how they sounded back in the day? Fuel makes a big difference , gasoline versus kerosene.
@@mikezahnow1605 Agreed my friend, i'm from England and i like to see and hear these 100 year old machines in working clothes doing what they were built to do and not stood in a museum
Всегда завидовал (и продолжаю) людям, которые могут так оттягиваться! Могут себе это позволить.
What a great video! Thanks for sharing all of this old iron!!

Looks like the middle steam tractor was having issues with priming. Every time he closed the cylinder cocks, it would spit a huge plume of white mist.

American tractors were built of thick metal so their natural element was outdoors in all kinds of weather, where they lasted a long time.
