@@EVGYANN you are wrong bro, a petrol bike gives u more mileage after using it because the engine requires time to set. Infact after using a petrol bike for more than 7000km to 10,000km , the engine becomes finer and becomes more efficient. An electric bike is not that eco friendly because the production of lithium and manufacturing of the battery is not carbon free. Besides China controls about 50% of the mines in the world and 70-80% of the finished manufacturing product . So if India goes electric, then India will be arm twist by it, like what we experienced with the middle east countries, so it is not a wise decision for India to jump from the frying pan into the fire, if u get what i mean.

1. Sure, electric vehicles don't emit smoke but the mining, transportation, manufacturing of batteries is not carbon free. Also as in the case of India,since most of the electricity comes from coal plants the problem is quite acute.
2. Sure, if u take from the english dictionary word "Control " literally, then yes China doesn't not control lithium. But out of 195 countries in the world and 1 country i.e. China dominates 50% of the lithium mines and 70% of the manufacturing of the batteries etc, then if this is not control, then what is?
3. Yes , India spend huge currency in importing oil, but this is offset to a large extent of the various remittances coming from individuals, companies etc in the Gulf. Whereas, it is totally different with China, its a one way street. Besides, the Govt earns a lot revenues from oil. Also India exports a lot of oil byproducts etc which also offset the huge oil import. India also produces about 20% petroleum on its own, whereas it has 0% lithium.
4. Yes , sure lithium as with other chemicals/elements can be recycled but the process is not cost effective and not economically viable and also not carbon free.
5. Sure, electricity cannot be adulterated but it can be cheated, it happens all the time in India.
6. Also, it is not strategically wise for India to be dependent on lithium becoz, first, it is dominated by China, next lithium is a rare commodity only 4-5 countries in the world has lithium. So India has to invest in other Chemistries and other tech whereby it will not be arm twist but will be in an advantage position.Also saying that lithium batteries is the best options compared to petrol vehicles when it comes to India is totally small conservative thinking, lacking vision.
