Sly used to come into my work for awhile (in LA), he was super cool and super humble dude. He seemed surprised when I recognized him. One of the best to do it!
My idol from long time. By far the most prolific drummer in JA. Inspired me to learn drums from a young age and develop my own musical skills.

Sly Dunbar, a truly blessed musician to create so many NEW approaches to rhythm.
His Excellency is recognized as one of the greatest drummers currently in the world irrespective of genre. He's also a very nice gentleman as well. Respect to you Sly OD Dunbar

@@stubuchs4759 Carlton Barrett is also the greatest drummer together with Sly Dunbar and even Style Scott . He died a horrible death back in 1987. May he rest in peace.

@Robert Carvalho You also forgot to mention another drummer by the name of Carlton Barrett of the Wailers. He was also one of the greatest reggae drummer of all time too.

Love Sly but "the greatest" alway's makes me nervous. Many greats seems better.

Brian Jenklins They didn't as far as I know, but Robbie played the bassline on "Concrete Jungle" from the "Catch A Fire" album

Yes Sly is definitely one of the best drummers to come outta JA but you all forgetting Carlton and family Man as 2 of the most influential Musicians in reggae music , most pep only think of them bn in the Wailers and all credits went to Bob yet with out them you would never have had the biggest band in the world .. so yes Sly top drummer but Carlton was king
@Paul You are absolutely right about that. Carlton Barrett the drummer and his brother Aston (Family Man) Barrett the bass player were an influence in reggae music.

@@SuperheroJunior Nelson Miller?? I' m aware - but to me, Sly is my favorite. I've never seen the other drummers live. I had a seat about 10' away from Sly at a small venue concert right before covid & i was hypnotized for over 2.5 hrs. He was INCREDIBLE.
Rolling Stone rated him 65 on list of 100?? Gtfoh. Tf do they know? Ok, he's not #1 (John Bonham) Keith Moon prob #2 but 65?? Ya crazy mon.
