The video is so moving. This woman is clear and focused and determined, and she knows the odds against her and doesn't care. It's so impressive that she knew the system was beyond terribly unfair in suppressing exactly what she wanted to do--to express herself, to get an education, to be seen and heard and valued--and she decided to stand up to it anyway. You can see the need for it in the very behavior of the fifth and sixth graders who already couldn't see the harm she was addressing. We think, in the US, that it's a big deal if senior women decide to go to college. Amma started first grade. Wow. Thanks so much for all the work done on this to bring her story to light.
