I feel like Nic Cage is quite affordable these days, he’s popping up in every straight to video movie. Don’t understand why he isn’t a part of the show.
He has been filming movies a lot these past two years, he recently had a movie at the Toronto film festival and just finished filming a movie in Toronto mid November. He has been pretty busy and not to mention he got married to someone half his age and had a kid with her not too long ago.
Did NOT expect Riley to show up. He was my favorite character in the films, I hope he shows up for more than just a cameo. For the show in general I had very low expectations but it looks better than I thought it would be. It’s nice to see how they’re bringing back cool artifacts and elements from the films. I hope they eventually make the 3rd film though, and hopefully a film that viewers won’t have to see the show to understand.

Same basic ingredients but they still came out different because of their flavor to go on top of it. I showed this trailer to someone without showing them the title or Riley at the end, and they just thought it was some average treasure hunting show for teens. That’s what Disney’s going for it seems, keep the main staple that was popular once before but attract teens and newcomers instead while rewarding older fans with a little sprinkle of nostalgia. But nothing more. (I’m just reading off the preview though so it’s just a first impression. Maybe they incorporate more but that’s usually shown in previews to get you to watch, otherwise what you see is what you get)

I lost it when I saw Riley! I actually squealed like a fangirl when I saw him! I was a little wary at first due to how different is seemed from the original films, but then he came popped up. Knowing that he's in the series gives me so much hope that this is gonna be an amazing adventure!

Rewatched the movies recently and honestly they’re just pure fun, miss movies like that! Hope this series embodies that, and hoping for a Nic Cage cameo in the finale leading to the long awaited 3rd movie!!!
i think that this show will get at least 2 seasons and in the second season we will get a cameo for nic cage which will b connected to national treasure 3.

Yeah I didn't liked it at first either it has a CW show vibe to it but the treasure hunt hooked me it was pretty decent plus Catherine Zeta-Jones is really good in it

I lost it when I saw Riley! I actually squealed like a fangirl when I saw him! I was a little wary at first due to how different is seemed from the original films, but then he came popped up. Knowing that he's in the series gives me so much hope that this is gonna be an amazing adventure!

It’s actually pretty good. Plenty of cameos and references and the new characters are pretty decent. Also the og music, which is a HUGE plus.

Nothing like people who never watched the show bashing it just because it doesn´t feature Nicholas Cage, it is a franchise expansion and very well done, with ties to Ben and the other movies, too bad people preffer to have prejudice before even watching it. I hope Jess and Ben meat in a future movie. ANd yes YOU CAN DO NATIONAL TREASURE WITHOUT CAGE!!
I definitely agree. I've never seen people get so upset about an actor not being in something. If they don't want to watch it they don't have to.

To all those asking why nick cage didn’t come back, the reason why is because after national treasure 2 he expected national treasure 3 and expected it to happen before the year 2010 but Disney didn’t wanna pursue a national treasure 3 because they didn’t see any merchandise potential and he felt like they lost faith in him as an actor because he would say yes to bad movies that would offer big cheques

Not a bad series. Some episodes are very action-packed, some are ridiculous. Still watchable.
