Nice job. Owned a P4 in my early 20's (now 71), my petite wife drove it many times and would complain of non-power steering chest pains. We would have loved a P5 with power steering at that time. Loved all of the "bank managers Rolls-Royce" P series.
One of my favourite cars as a kid, mainly due to a guy on my street owning one in dark Grey that I walked passed nearly every day and I would always just look at it, it was just a huge beautiful car. 30 years later, it's become even more desirable, he also owned a white Lotus Europa and a silver BSA Goldstar. to this day, I still consider that the best 3 vehicle collection I have seen.
@@paulbennell3313 I had a P5B Saloon and Coupe years ago when they were affordable loved the V8's,however a friend bought a 3 litre 6 cylinder E reg in black and I was amazed at how quiet it was,you could barely hear the engine just the clock ticking and at traffic lights virtually no engine sound,I was in my 20s back then now closer to triple that age I really appreciate the quieter 6 cylinder models, Best wishes to yourself,family,friends and the uploader of this vid.
Note the number plate which has 'XC' in it, which means it was registered by the factory. I have a 1974 P6B 3500S, which was also registered by the factory, it also has 'XC' in the plate.
@Mark Nelson I’d imagine these cars were regularly serviced and kept in tip top condition if they were used by the rover higher eschelon! , did this occur with other marques or is the XC unique to rover do you know?
The parents of a mate of mine at uni had a 3 litre sedan new, way back then. He was allowed to use it if his parents did not need it. It was an extremely pleasant way to be transported around, very different to my parents DS Citroën
