There is something about Kolkata which is very special. I have visited a few other cities in India and yes they are better than Kolkata in many ways. But I think when thing are done in Kolkata they are done properly. Like in Kolkata where there are footpaths, they are in great condition, roads are properly marked, bridges are painted and properly lit. The door to door garbage collection system works properly, even the small stall have garbage bins and this was before swachh bharat. Overall I can say that if Kolkata can attract more investments, it is surely going to be a great city.....

I stay in Bangalore but have visited Kolkata 5-6 times. Majority of main roads of Kolkata are beautiful and have very less traffic jams on them. There is something special about the design and traffic management there despite being a metro city. Look at these areas shown in this video. They are so clean and beautiful and literally no traffic jams. The beautiful british time old buildings on both sides of these streets gives it a feel of European cities. Bangalore despite being a IT hub far behind Kolkata in road infrastructure ☹️.
You are partially right. You have seen a few parts of Kolkata only in this video. Yes, I must admit roads are clean, no traffic jam of areas of this video. But what about other parts of Kolkata? Especially old Kolkata? What about development? Not satisfactory at all. I visited Kolkata in 1991 and 1992. To speak the truth, no development has done in long 30 years. I see same condition I saw 30 years ago. Still rickshaws (pull), wood body buses, wood body trams are plying on the roads!!!!! Even you will see cows are walking on the roads. You will see dilapidated houses. No new housing instead of these dilapidated houses. So, don't be so glad by seeing only a few parts of Kolkata. Finally, if you see drone view of Kolkata, you will see slums mostly.

There are many roads in South Kolkata which are clean and well maintained. Probably you did not get a chance to view them. North Kolkata could possibly be a little shabby.
