- He was only being paid $12 a week to polish silver at a hotel in Boston. Mark Stanganelli held the job for 15 years and his family says it was a source of pride and stability for their son, who has Down syndrome. Now that his job has been eliminated, the program that placed him there says it can't afford to train him for another one. HLN affiliate WCVB has the story. For more informaton please visit www.hlntv.com/v...
$12 a week
$48 a month
$576 a year
$8,640 after 15 years
And they fire him. I feel bad for bro
How could the hotal not continue to pay him if it was only $12 a week. I doubt they got rid of their food service all together so they still need someone to polish the glasses. I am guessing they made this job part of someone else duty.
Every *2* weeks so that’s half of 8,640
More money then I have in my bank for sure!
@@crashoutt.j what? My math is correct.
@@seriousdopamine4404 no its correct she just said he gets paid every *couple* of weeks, which makes it worse
If you can't afford to pay this man $12 a week, your pretty much a scummy person. Hands down.
Super Duper He should be getting paid 12 dollars an hour. He’s been there for 15 years!!!!!
He doesn’t really do much
Read the second line of the headline on the bottom
Mr Krabs
you pay him then dipshit
24 dollars every 2 weeks ? isn't that illegal
Brian Hensley actually it could very well be true, and not illegal depending on the program. may uncle will for ever be at the educational level of a 1 or 2nd grader depending on the subject. he can not read though can recognize letter. to receive the assistance he need to live as close to a normal life as he does he can never make more then a specific amount. if he makes more then that amount it will lose part if not all of the assistance he receives. inheriting anything also counts towards that income level as well.

It is indeed illegal in all modern countries. But then again, all modern countries have universal social security and so on...
mintcoral the point which I made badly was here in Ireland we have minimum wage . he should be making more then 12 dollars a week whether he has downs syndrome or not.
Ryan o don't presume I know nothing . worked along side people with down syndrome. seen them work more then an hour a day
$24 every 2 weeks?! That's slavery!
He did it so he can be normal or something. His parents got him covered probably
I imagine he worked very few hours.
The main reason he was there was to interacte with people
It’s wasn’t forced upon
Makes more than most interns
Absolutely Disgraceful! Most people don't even want to work and this poor man has held the same job for 15 years.
Karen Duke ... this made me sick just to think ... why peoples do this... 😐😟😔
I think it is quite clear that's not the case. the man (I reckon manager of the hotel) says he can stay for ever. Doesn't sound like a "we have to baby sit and he is useless". Seems to me Mark Stanganelli was worth it.
Karen Duke They are beautiful people helpful pleasant and more reliable than those without their handycap. Its disgraceful of the restuarant management to behave so calously like that, there are loads of other tasks to do in a catering establisment
OkamsRazer sorry for me not understanding what you meant. your points are certainly viable. and just youtubing similar fases shows that people with mentale disabilities can do quite some impressive jobs (such as own a restaurant). however who is to say that he did not like polishing? just because a normal person _should_ not like it? or feel like it is beneath him? maybe it was his dream job. Mental disabilities vary greatly, while some can actually perform on a rather high level others cant or do not want to. and, as is the case for ppl without disabilities, should not be forced into any job they do not want or can perform. as such I tend to trust the decision of parents as they know their children best and I do not blame them without having very detailed information about each individual case.
OkamsRazer but to Mark it's everything. He felt needed. That's important for everyone.
for 24 dollars come on... give him his job back
Diego youtubes $24 every two weeks! My gosh. $12 a week.... that’s a half a Starbucks a day. They couldn’t afford that? Sickening.
General HowTo they just want him out most likely people have been complaining about him or something!
k i l l e r b e an he gets disability money too.
I've worked in a factory with the special needs. And they do piece work. So they get paid by how much work they do. They don't get paid much bcuz they recieve monthly ssi or ssdi benefits. It sucks bcuz they work really hard but its true. I think they deserve the same as everyone else.
For 24 bucks every 2 weeks and they fire him? Wow they really are cheap asses.
This guy lasted longer on a job than most of my friends that have nothing wrong with these bums, 15 years is a long time, great job.

He either worked 2 hours a week or had an illegal pay wage
This guy made more than me in two weeks then i have a month
(Pizza cook)
TH-cam forced me to comment
Hm
all he does is polish silver, something they dont even need to do. they just made up something he can waste his time with because they feel bad for him.
eric harris Polishing silver is something that people do, often. It’s been a thing for thousands of years, may not be managing the hotel but it’s certainly not some made up job.
Shit for 24 dollars a week I'll pay him to just come chill.
24 dollars every 2 weeks actually
Curtis Brown Why wouldn't he, the guy would get 24 dallors every two weeks to ' chill ' or just have a relaxing time with someone who is willing to spend time with him
Max. He's actually right. He lives several states away from me so the commute would be a pain. But he also missed the point, it's so little money that brings so much joy to someone's life. It's almost like saying this guy's happiness isn't worth 48 dollars a month. I'm broke livin paycheck to payckeck, and even I could afford to pay him that.
banana squared lol u would give him head
banana squared lol
24$ bi- weekly for 15 years? How cruel. The owner should be ashamed of himself 😡
Interns get paid nothing. The money is irrelevant. If I had the option to pay people next to nothing and they'd still work for me sorry....bud I'd do it
He gets payed disability he doesn’t actually need a job
@Ryan Morgan No! pay the man for his time! He's no different from any us. Technically people wouldn't even stick with a job like that for 15yrs. Pay him good money!
@@davidortiz3094 This was closer to a hobby than a job. They never even _needed_ him for it, it's such a simple job that any of the other staff would have the time for.
@@TheMartyandy I understand your point but regardless, that amount of pay is absurd. Still pay him for his time. Not no damn $24
very sad. I worked with a man with autism in a warehouse. he would empty the trash. he loved working and being around people who liked him.

Bastards ....12 a week...vile and discriminatory
Blobby Blob i like to know how they get away with that!
Bastards .
Blobby Blob that might be the wage for an hour of work. If they don't have much silver to polish that's how long it might take to do the job bi weekly.
For anyone watching this today, I just read that he was able to keep his job at the hotel!
I choose to believe you
God I hope so. He seems so happy with his job. I hope the prick that wanted him fired got fired.
Wonderful!
He was hit by a bus. They say the bus had dirty windows so Mike being the kind soul he is went out tongue a blazing trying to lick those windows clean but was instead hit by said bus and killed instantly
Andrew probably some useless pencil pusher made it happen

They should drag them into court fuck them!!!

Sorry sir, we're cutting back. The company can't afford your salary of 624 dollars a year.
Cutting down?
You obviously didn’t watch the video. Watch the video again before commenting
I’m not going to watch the F’ing video brah. Calm the F down
Hope he finds another job. Some place and people who appreciate him.
the job didnt fire him, the program he was in, terminated him from that job please watch the video next time
Ladybug Liberals suck
FFS don't you understand the company was giving him a job out of kindness? It's harsh to say it out load, but be most likely wasn't even worth that 24$ for the company other than the good publicity it get them hiring someone with such a disability. Most likely part of someone else's job there was keeping an eye on him aswell. No hate here, I think people with downs syndrome is some of the sweetest people on earth.
You really think they had him for 15 years if they didn't appreciate him!? Get a grip on reality
Ladybug u
Ladybug Hopefully somewhere that gives him more than $24 for 2 weeks
Why wouldn't the Hotel just personally hire him themselves if he was good at his job. Heck give him a 12 dollar raise and let him keep polishing.
If they hire him without the program they have to pat him 7.25 or more per hour 40 hrs $580 every two weeks. For a job thy don't actually need. The program provides internships then gives a stipend.
Could they not just tell the service providers they WANT to keep him on the program and continue paying the current wage.I don't know but seems to me like the manager doesn't actually give 2 fucks about the poor guy. He'll say anything to look good on camera of course :) trust me, if he liked him, he would've kept him. Obviously they did not like the service provided unfortunately, and if they did, they are cunts, if they didn't well they are still cunts and should have got him to do something different.
Donnie Hendry
No they can't pay him $2 a day that would be labor violation. And the job wasn't worth more. Plus he is on SSI anyone with Downs would be on SSI which is means tested he would lose all or part that SSI. They would have to pay 7.25 or more depending on state to do a job they don't need and was created for him. Or, to retrain him they would have to pay waged employee who may have family.
A hotel is business and must look at its bottom line and manager isn't the owner so can't offer someone $58 per day for a job they don't need.
I'm only saying the hotel could have some pull if They were happy with his work' to say we want to keep this young man working here, no further training needed. No idea what SSI is nor does it matter. Just based off the video the manager/owner/whoever said they were pleased with his work and this is unfortunate, without giving up a fight and saying fuck you to the people who said nahhhh we don't want him there anymore too much paperwork. Of course they are a business and at first I was appalled he only made 24$ a pay check. But that is also a gold mine for the Hotel, save someone polishing dishes, takes a lot of time. It just Doesn't make sense.
0011peace
Also I'm kind of pissed at your comment, So it was okay to pay him 24$ a paycheck when he was approved by some fucking institute. But then all of a sudden he's let go. So only this institute for mentally handicapped people are allowed to let them work for less then minimum wage? I Call BS on you and your argument. The Manager/Owner/Employees simply did not want to keep him. Contracts can easily be made.
Shameful behavior on the business’s behalf.
He wasn't fired from the business, he's contract got suspended from his educational program that's all.
How is it shameful
I totally agree with you!!!👏👏👏
Nick_txnbtj it’s more than shameful, it’s against the human rights act 1997. This would never happen in Europe
Tyke Handsome whoa.....your mustache and beard look really badass.
Why was he only getting paid 24 dollars??? That's not right!!!
Donna B exactly
Completely agree with you! Here in Australia, that's less than exploitative slave labour!!
+Elizabeth Czepiel Unfortunately, Australia is just as bad.
This is how the program works: In the company's view, it's voluntary.
They don't pay anyone. It is the agency who pays him, and if there is an
on the job accident, etc. it comes from the agency also. The hotel
didn't really need a polisher. It was a job created just for people like
this.
Subangelis Gaming I completely understand....but if he indeed polish and clean well....24 dollars was too little in my opinion. Also, I do believe a people who do other "created" jobs would make more simply because they aren't disabled....thanks for the comment.
Really? they could'nt afford $48 AMonth for this man to keep his job? They must've had a complaint from someone with no heart!
By reading some of the comments here it seems there' are plenty of heartless a-holes to go around!
It’s not the hotel it’s the government agency responsible for placing him that’s causing this problem. Pay attention to the video.

Wait. 24 dollars. This hotel has taken advantage of someone that long.
Justin Eddy Our system is fricked up. I mean, if they remove that disability thing, then the person would barely be able to afford things, especially if they barely earned more than before.
Clark Anzara *fucked
@Smitty WerbenJagerManJensen that's not true. Many people with disabilities can be very productive. Mental disability is a different thing though.
It wasnt the hotel, it was the company that hired him to work at the hotel which the hotel pays (It's a company for disabled people)
They could have found him another little job to do. To sack him in that way is criminal.
No it's not, every employer is allowed to fire or let go of an employee whenever they wish. They are paying you for work you know; if they decide you are no longer a needed part of their force they have every right to let you go.
Country Bumpkin Nebraska is an at will state an employer don't need a reason to fire you here. if they don't want you anymore you are done.
It wasn't the hotel but the agency that let him go.
+*Candide Gunn*
What is wrong with you? Just because someone tells you what the facts are doesn't mean they deserve abuse. They're not saying they think the guy should've been let go. They're just telling you how it can happen.
0011peace ik I don't agree with it he seems like a great worker it don't seem right just saying
This is to sad for words… why did they take his job from him.. Its 12 damn dollars 😿 just give him his job back..
Since it's just $12 feel free to hire him and pay him to tie your shoes.

Lana Varmatos Exactly!!!!!

Absolutely Pathetic. Mark wasn't being a drain on resources. At $24.00/Fortnight he was being taken advantage of, due to his Down's disability. Some of the People and 'Departments' involved should be hanging their Heads in shame.
Concur. I can't believe greed for a mere $24 cost this sweet person's spirit! Shame on the ones responsible!!
He DESERVES better pay 💰
They would have to be capable of shame but rich people are monsters who get their jollies hurting people and abusing and exploiting people. It is a proven fact. Every study ever done proved that any time someone got an unfair advantage over others they started acting like jerks. The Stanford Experiment is the most famous but there are thousands of others. We all know that $12 a week is not breaking the budget of that multibillion dollar business, the owner probably just did it to give himself a big ole woody.
It was the agency not hotel. He was like an intern and got a stipend from the agency.
0011peace: Thank you for patiently trying to clarify in so many threads what is happening here. It is obvious that many people are unfamiliar with how these programs work.

12 $ a week ? Looks like they used this poor guy.
He polished silverware, that's all he did. He was employed by an agency who helps mentally handicapped people get out in the community and build skills along with having some semblance of a normal life. These people were doing him a service more than he was doing them one in the big scheme of things.
M Detlef yikes

@M Detlef That's the only thing you can say about this? This has absolutely NOTHING to do with Trump, fucking dumb ass.
And yes, you certainly are an NPC. Wake up.
This is just shameful. To save $12 a week, hotel management crushed this man's spirit. If they were decent people running this establishment, they could easily come up with a job that's needs doing -- it's a frigging hotel!
Listen more carefully, it wasn't the hotel.
Sorry, my mistake, it was the agency responsible for placing him there. So then the question becomes, "Why are they needed?". Surely he knows the job by now and can do it unsupervised (It can't be more than 2 or 3 hours a week). The hotel ponies up the $12 per week, his parents bring him to and from work. What am I missing? I hear about others with Down Syndrome who work much longer hours as bag-boys, car washers, etc... Is there a state/local law that requires this intermediary agency for disabled people? I don't get it.
Poor Finian fuck i hope no one pays you more then .30 cents a week , your to fucking stupid to listen to a story. it wasn't the hotel the fired or hired him, it's was dds, the government agency, now go bitch slap your parents for raising a complete waste of human space.

As someone with a disability. Thank you.
I think this is disgraceful. I hope he has found employment elsewhere. Maybe the hotel at which he worked decided to hire him on their staff at a much higher wage. This shows a major lack of funding to those types of programs. I am a person with a disability who lives in Toronto. I can say with absolute certainty this would not happen here. We have numerous agencies where funding is available to (re)train persons with disabilities.

My dad use to employ a man with Down syndrome. Awesome guy and everybody at our store loved him and now misses him. After awhile at our store my dad had to let him go because the work environment was proving to dangerous for him (knives, band saws, blades etc.) and he had hurt himself many times. His main job was to clean, take out trash, stock shelves. We miss the guy but he has a new cleaning dishes as a restaurant which, last time we talked to him, he really enjoys.
So many people missing the point of this whole situation:
1. The hotel employs him on behalf of the agency that supports him. They don't really need anybody to "polish silverware". It's 2022, we have machines that do that.
2. The point of the job is not to provide him with money, but to provide him with some dignity and routine and a sense of pride. Again, the hotel doesn't actually need someone to polish silverware. They are stepping up to support someone in the community, in conjunction with an agency. The pay is simply symbolic.
3. The hotel did not fire him. The hotel is being forced to let him go because the agency that supports him can no longer afford to support him. The story is a bit unclear on this, but the assumption is that he must be working with a social worker or someone of the like on-site who ensures that he is having a good day. The issue is not the affordability of the $24, but the affordability of dedicating a social worker to him.
4. This story is now 10 years old and unsure of the present status, however, he did receive his agency support and job back shortly after the story broke.
Reminds me of factory job I once had. There was a company that employed those with special needs and the factory outsourced to them to prepare hardware bags for us. Screws, bolts, lever nuts, instruction sheets, and all those kinds of things the customer needed to install the product. They saved us a lot of time and I personally never had an issue with missing parts when I'd check them over before packing. They did their job well regardless of any disabilities they may have had.
Later found out from a supervisor that the company in question labeled the job volunteer work and that allowed them to pretty much pay whatever they felt like. I never got a number, but I can only assume it was some pathetic amount like in this video. Sickened me to no end when I found out. The factory I worked in paid the outsourced company a significant amount of money and I'd wager most of that money went right into the bank account of one person. Its slavery. You can try and feel good about yourself and lie that you're doing them a service, but its all bullshit.

Yeah I knew someone that worked at a place that employed disabled people to do packaging jobs, they paid them by the package and it was next to nothing.
Pretty sad really.
Most people with Down Syndrome cannot realistically sustain a life for themselves. I doubt they care if they get paid almost nothing, it gives them something to do and be social.
$24 every two weeks, wow, its sounds to me like someone was complaining about him because they were uncomfortable
My thought exactly.
Who was complaining about him?
Nate Legakis Anyone. Usually it's some jerk with nothing better to do. It's those type of people that complain to a staff member stating they don't want a person like him touching their utensils because they belive in their tiny minds they will get down syndrome from touching him. They are out there and I had to deal with a few of them.
CresentMoon18 your rite I had a young lad work with me and they pulled me in the office to ask me to let him go as certain people felt uncomfortable around him sick bastards I told him they didn't have enough work and left with him

I agree with the other comments. The Hotel should of at least retained him! Very shellfish and low of them to let him go!
*Shellfish 😂😂 sorry I’ll hold my laughter but I love autocorrect*
Rick Reid i agree. hotels always need some extra mussel
Rick Reid a bit of a *clamity* by all accounts
I was going to deshell your argument but I see others did the same
This is sad 😔. Keep your head up brother I'm with u and others we salute u.
24 dollars every 2 weeks? Shut them down they are taking advantage of this guy.
Bottom line the Hotel should have kept him.15YEARS!!!!!!! The Guest prolly love an look forward to seeing him when they there. Anyway so sad ....."YES" but You know what ?? it's really their loss. He Im sure has a another job by now. I travel to Boston quite a bit I know I wont be staying at ANY Windham Hotel just because of this story.
Dabs Truther you only feel bad because he is special needs this guy makes more then a college graduate for just being special needs 15 years is enough they shouldn't have to pay for his retirement and his disability through SSDI
The job didn’t fire him, the program he was in did. Watch the video.
The hotel already accepted that it's the agency giving them employees for specific jobs. They cannot keep the guy because the agency will eventually send somebody else for the job
And women think they get paid less...
Tim Welch they said the job isn’t about money for him it’s about routine
I wouldn't comment that, feminists can be pretty brutal on the internet
Tim Welch we got ur back from any feminists 👊👊
Tim Welch
Did you just assume my gender?!?! I'm a attack helicopter.
Amy Archer No, they said the payment isn’t the only thing that’s good for him.
$24 every 2 weeks is taking advantage. How can people feel good about doing that. Thats 100% wrong. Low lifes!
Asphalt King it’s not bad, most kids with learning disabilities don’t even get payed, the place he’s working for probably didn’t even have to pay him if they wanted.
@@kara-eo7xm muy yum
Asphalt King, ??? He obviously isn’t as capable most people with Down syndrome wouldn’t be given a job and for 15 years he has had a job he’s been happy he may do 10 dishes within a 10 hour period who knows
He works one hour on a Saturday every week, $12 an hour is brilliant for a downs never mind anyone else
Taking advantage by not paying minimum wage to "polish silverware"?
I know which hotel I won't be staying at whenever I visit Boston.
Joseph Wolanin no you dont
TRUMP 2020
Bob Job because it clearly says it on the bottom
It's not the hotel's fault, pay attention to the vid
Knee Slider Why Trump would only mock a guy like this.
This is just stupid I think that if he has been there for 15 years he should be able to stay there because it is obvious he loves his job just as his parents and co-workers talk about him.
The company could of kept him. Please sue the company involved.
Please shut up until you learn to listen to the video. It's not the hotels fault.
This is how the program works: In the company's view, it's voluntary. They don't pay anyone. It is the agency who pays him, and if there is an on the job accident, etc. it comes from the agency also. The hotel didn't really need a polisher. It was a job created just for people like this.
+Subangelis Gaming , and then what...?
Jillene Nelson someone needs to sue your patents for raising a dipshit.....listen to the story
Jenny Roberts ..... I listen to the story....dip hole..... If, you had a program that is no longer. You have a employee of that program that long provided. I would of my sure their was a position...for him. Stop trolling have heart!!!! This is his live hood.....
The NBA should hire him, he can put t-shirts on seats, sweep up confetti, or even be a mop boy. It will give him a better salary and will make the NBA look good.
I don't think he can do that. If you have donated your time to help down syndrome people, you would realize most of them cannot manage even the simplest tasks.
if you let him go, it will be a loss to all of us. will it be worth it?
Did he find a new job? :(
Its hard enough for regular people to get jobs, even worse for people with disabilities. Theres no workplace out there that will hire him unless they pity him.
The man hardly earned anything. No workplace? Of course there is, they just didn't want him anymore.
Fire chill bro u prolly ugly and have nothing going for u self and ur prolly a shame to ur families name, which is why ur mad at someone who is doing something with their life and ur going to be living with ur mom until she dies with shame of how u are a bum😁
He got a job at a restaurant
Why not say “don’t do that” Nicely to Fire and not curse like him like that. He life is worth something and you shouldn’t say he shouldn’t exist. That’s messed up
This is so sad.
Whoever made the decision to fire this guy is a truly terrible person. I worked in Boston at city sports for years and employed special needs ppl to work there. I was a store mngr. sometimes it was super difficult employing lower functioning ppl but (esp in hindsight) it was great for them and cost us very little. Shame on companies for not helping them.
Yes it was probably some upper manager that would sell his mother to el chapo to get ahead at his job some of these corporate people have no soul
Any one that is mocking this young man that has down syndrome. You should be ashamed of yourself. Hope and pray Mark finds new job.
Why? Oh come on, you can't be THAT stupid!!
Jason Burdette and better paid
You’re telling me they can’t afford $12 a week come on
LAS VEGAS SHOOTER I would not spend a penny on him
We have all got your back Mark
Jj M what are you gonna do?
Lol
The Real Rick
thanks

Well, well, well. Look what we have here. A fake Rick posing as the real Rick.
Here’s my story I was terminated from my GoodWill job in mid 2015 because I have Cerebral Palsy. In 2016-2017 I attended an internship at Kaiser Hospital for job training through Albertina Kerr. After my internship I got a job at Cognitive Surplus (a warehouse kind of job), but that didn’t work either because my body couldn’t move fast enough. Then my job coach got me a job selling tickets at a movie theater (Bridgeport Regal Cinemas 18 & IMAX) where I work in the box office selling tickets to people and I love it! I had this job beginning in November 2018 and have been working hard at this job ever since. To that man who has Down syndrome I feel for u man! I know it’s like to lose a job because you have a disability! I’ve been there and I never want to go that route again!
this makes me angry. I can't believe what I just watched.
Well, thanks for breaking my heart. 😭
Hem of the Sky You're absolulty right...my apologies. I will call the hotel immediately and get this sorted out. I can't believe I have personally let this go on for as long as I have, I'm ashamed, and glad you've bought attention to it.
I personally blame you, squishyspud. Fix it right MEOWWWW!! 😾
$24.00 damn I spend more at McDonald's for breakfast....After more then a decade at the same job. He should be running the place. I respect his work ethic.
be your own boss, bottom line ...never work for anybody but urself
JP Landscaping That requires times when you need to be bossesd
If i was a business owner i would hire that man in a heart beat. This is sad.
Sounds like you're just making excuses. You can pay anyone for services. Feel free to hire him to wash your dishes. Maybe he can even tie your shoes. If you have extra money around, get him in your house and pay him...
PONYBOYonline youre an idiot
C
Let me know when you hire the kid...or you can just keep taking your imaginary high ground in the TH-cam comments. #moralcurrency+1
C I like how you say screw humanity yet you defend lack of efficiency
C
"I am not an employer" More illogical excuses. Anyone can hire anyone else to do almost anything. Let me know when you start paying this guy. We'll wait.
I am so sorry this has happened to this young man. He is reliant on this job. No loyalty now a days. He has been a good worker for 15 years and has never let them down like they are now letting him down. This is a disgusting way to behave. He was hardly a hardship on their resource was he? Shameful. I would boycott the restaurant me till they changed their mind.
it was the agency who took his job away. They said it was no longer appropriate.
Jenny Roberts
I pick up slight negativity
Watch, listen, and then comment.
tintinismybelgian
It should be Watch Listen and POLITELY Comment....
Referring to Jenny Roberts
My homie with an extra chromie
Ryan obviously people are bored here with no life and are deciding to pick on a person with a disability by comensaiting for their failures keeping a job or productive life maybe instead of picking on a disabled person maybe we should worry about the mistakes we make just being human
Pattington Bear, sometimes you get a job and sometimes you lose a job. There are just ups and downs in life.
Simon it's your comment about making fun of his disability. He lost his job because someone was hating on him he's not black or Hispanic but he suffures from more then discrimination he suffers from people who hate on him for just being human and wanting a chance to live. He didn't seek attention on himself to get his story out. You want respect from people you have to sometimes give it even if you have hate in your heart for that person
Pattington Bear, sure it's an ugly story but what are you going to do about it? Disabled people can't do the same kind of work as "normal" people so they struggle to be competitive with other workers, that's how life works. It's similar to natural selection if you think about it but today's world allows people like this to find a job. I mean... He had one which is better than nothing.
Simon there is no such thing as a normal person. There is nothing to determine what a normal person is or looks like. Normal selection is when they offer you a second chance when your a felon. Normal selection or being normal doesn't apply here because he is normal he is a human and he is honerable and not some scub bucket who would do anything for a job. Remember normal selection would be the only way why someone like you would get offered a job. Your job must suck.
Awww this is so sad, I hope the company finds a way to keep him a part of their team!
if he was at my work i would pay him out of my own pocket without hesitation. For god's sake it's less than $50 a month to give that guy stable life.
ALS he lives with his parents dumb fuck he doesn't need or deserve shit
Awww i want to hug him☹❤...ppl are so evil smh
ME TOO!!!😊
15 years this poor guy was raked over the coals God bless him and hope he finds something way way better.
This is tragic. Give the guy his job back. I wish there was a way to contact him and go advocate for him. So sad..
what a piss take only $24 every 2 wks hes worth more than that but you know he will do the job honit sould be done and i guess they hav dumped it on some poor sod who has other jobs there and wont have time and heart to do it right. and then not to help him find another job well that is taking the piss. i hope he is back in work now
Mark Greenway a lot of time special services set them up with jobs. So yes he probably was given another job somewhere through special services.
i worked with one of these, let me tell ya they are crafty as fuck and bludgers.
From the thumbnail I thought it was Gordon Ramsey🤣🤣 Could you imagine that episode???💀
Legit the only reason I watched this
not blaming the hotel, but in fact they could step up and do the right thing. why didn't they? thats the question
the company, that got him that job (the one that fired him, which isnt the hotel) wont let them
$24 every other week? YOU FIRED A MAN WITH DOWN SYNDROME WHEN HE WAS GETTING $24 EVERY OTHER WEEK?! Completely vile!
Dang! I didn't get news coverage when i lost MY job.
The business owners or the agency bureaucrats?
yodasodaskoda this is why I hate retarded freaks. Everyone feels bad for them but not for other normal people smdh
Just makes me sick ! Like that chain can’t afford 12.00 a week ? Boycott this chain
*JUSTICE FOR MARK*
awwww he is awesome give him a chance he deserve it god bless
fatty fatty they gave him a chance for 15 years
Get you some learning. You be deservin' it.
lol he got fired over 5 years ago XD
That man held a job for 15 years, he can get another job. He seems like a trooper. Good luck dude!!
This young man worked for you 15 years and this is the thanks he gets. Shame on you and your company policy you have broken his heart ,hopeful the angles will shine on him and he will fine a better job and more money the LORD will bless you .
What kind of angles will shine down on him? Right angles, acute angles or obtuse angles?
I probably give $ 12 a week to the homeless begging on the corners.
Linda Kennedy they gave him 15 years
Nigga a business isnt going to fucking wipe his ass for another 15 years. Eventually theyre gonna want to invest their money in workers that are actually working.
@@Cyanightt why you talking like that but look like a kids TV reject 😂
That is the BS that does happen to them. It tick me off because he has a handicap they only give him $12 a week. He should try at the Supermarkets and help bag groceries. We have a sweet young man at our Wal-Mart that is VERY good doing different jobs. I call this discrimination. I'd report them, I don't care who they are. If they were paid that much, I bet they would scream bloody murder. I wonder who's pocketing the extra funds?
Janet Johnson g
Janet Johnson Yea discrimination after so many years.
Discrimination will always be with us but it doesn't make it correct. Who are they to judge this man?
What's the name of the hotel I'll 1 star review it RIGHT NOW

Same! I searched his name and hells kitchen, it took me by surprise
Lol me too
Hope he gets another job soon , well done to him
Joanne pepper yeah its not easy to lose your job but he did it
This broke my heart.
Oh, hi, Mark!
Christian B, this isn't fucking funny. How the hell would you feel if you had an illegal pay wage, was mentally disabled, and did nothing wrong but yet, "Oh hey! You've been working here for 15 years. But, we're still going to fire you for no reason at all."
?
TheOrcsOf Death bruh stfu its a joke
blazortheepic03, now that I think about it, you're right, I shouldn't have taken it the wrong way, at the time tho, it pissed me off, the matter is serious, but I guess it's OK, now that I think about it
Hello to you too, it's nice to meet you
Did anyone think to go up into the Wyndham corporation? Get in touch with the CEO,CFO and ask what they might be able to do to help this dedicated responsible man an opportunity to stay on with the Wyndham family. I hope he has found other employment by now.
Julie Lally TRUMP 2020
Liberal idiot triggered. Thanks you made my day
Max Hollis the point is to support him. It's not unreasonable and I'm sure he works as hard as he can.
Maybe he can become an Uber driver.
lmao people with down syndrome are not allowed to drive.
SHAKE Yeah they can? Who told you that? No one? If they can pass the tests they can most definitely drive.

$12 a week should be illegal regardless of disability. Ridiculous.
